1. Sweep suits anyone? http://www.jimcarreyonline.com/pics/dumb/pics/dumb24.jpg
2. Depending on where you are coming from. Chart your path and let the affiliates be your guide. Time to change the pre-sets and keep shuffling to the strong signal. Here's the list: Affiliates
3. Just thought it was a new handle. nothing else meant by it. No problem. I think its rather reasonable to be trigger happy I'm frustrated too. Maybe I'm just conditioned by the 12-year-losing-machine. The team (players) haven't shown you or I anything to convince us that the corner is turned. But I think Attanasio has shown he's willing to spend if that's what it takes (Sheets, Lee). I hope he doesn't prove me wrong. I expect changes to be made yearly as well or I'll be right with you. Pull away on that trigger. I'll leave my safety on (for now).
4. I would categorize myself as one of those "some" fans. Fine. I'm OK with that and the comment "some" wasn't meant condescending. They have demostrated NOTHING in terms of heading in the right direction, i.e. winning ballgames. I wasn't expecting this team to turn this thing around in a matter of one year, because I agree with you that they don't have the talent ("AAAA players"). However, I feel like they have a GM with a new Owner that, at least I, have confidence in. Why shouldnt people be quick with the trigger? I personally think it's too early in the season. My opinion. I'm willing to give the new management time and I never expected results to come overnight. And, who is ILbrewerfan, or I should say, who were you before the new name change? I don't know what you mean by that, but I haven't changed my name. I haven't changed my handle. If it's a comment about how I haven't been registered since May 5, 2003, sorry for my tardiness. If it's about helping the site with PR, then I think you've had your say on that stuff in a different thread.
5. Fair enough. Bleacher seats are a good place also. I just didn't think of it because I'm not a fan of bleacher seats at all. They do have their charm though. Is it a comfort thing or the vantage point (OF)?
6. I'd be down for it... but the wife _hates_ the nosebleed section. So either it will take some convincing or will take me heading to games without her. I'm going to side with your wife on this one. I feel like I'm playing sim-city up there. Besides, the Bleachers are cheaper and closer to the field.
7. Learning to love Our Bums Mitch Vingle Ouch. Looks like they're as quick with the trigger in WV as some fans in MKE.
8. Date&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Opponent 04/29/05&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Reds 04/30/05&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Reds 05/01/05&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Reds 05/03/05&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Cubs 05/04/05&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Cubs 05/05/05&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Cubs . . . . Brian - would there be any way to allow a post to be edited by all users? If they just wanted to add their name after something like this?
9. What the heck happened to Helling in the 6th? Yikes. I went to lunch and came back to a 10 spot by OK.
10. 2-0 Sounds. Fielder & Nelson with RBI singles. 8-1 Sounds. Weeks with a 3-run HR (leads team in steaks now). 13-1 Sounds. Hart 2-run 1B Mosquera 3-run 2B (looks like all the offensive mojo is in OK CITY, maybe Houston is close enough?)
11. ...He came to the batter's box, and Ned decided to take the bat out of his hands.... Perhaps Miller was bunting on his own. If Ned was going to bunt him I don't see him calling it off after one pitch. That to me seems more like a guy up there bunting on his own accord.
12. We're planning it as I type this. Look for a preview in the "Off Topic" forum in the coming days. It's going to be a good time so don't miss it.
13. Traffic is light today I was hoping somebody would run a box score. Gracias ja002h!
14. ESPN 1000 is also carrying the game for us Chicago-area residents.
15. Nice instructions. I must have clicked on every link on that page except "Camp Report". Got it now. Thanks again.
16. Thanks for the information Hardy. I was searching and couldn't find it anywhere.
17. News out of Chicago is that Borowski is out for up to 2 months with a broken wrist bone. Pile it on.
18. I spoke with Will Lingo (Managing Editor for Baseball America) and he said that he feels it is appropriate for people to discuss the general theme of any article read on their site, however, extremely discourages people copying, claiming ownership, extensively paraphrasing, etc. This still leaves a lot of gray area, but I think this whole issue comes down to common sense on the posters part. In order to stay in the good graces of these sites I would say that Brian has been doing a good job. It's easy to talk about the gist of the article without violating the conditions listed above. Lists/rankings get a little tricky because it's difficult to talk about lists without mentioning the list. I could not reach anyone at BP, but this is right off their web-site:
19. How about: Best places to stay near the park (ammenities, cost, etc.)? Best seats in the park (subjective I suppose)? Alternate attractions? My $.02.
20. Brian, FYI...I added these to my yahoo!. There seems to be a problem linking to the "Feature Articles". I get the technical difficulties page with the following error: java.lang.NumberFormatException: null
21. Thanks guys, although I have no martial arts skills, I'll do what I can. Any improvements around here will be hard to come by, I just hope to get more people in here to enjoy the depth and quality of the info. Cheers, Shannon
22. I was lucky enough to batboy for the Brewers in Sun City during ST in '85. Freddy Fredrico (sp?) was the trainer at the time. The first day we were down there my Dad noticed them pull a kid out of the stands to batboy for them. The next day I asked if he needed a batboy and they let me continue doing it for the rest of our stay. They paid me in baseballs which was just fine with me. I got a ton of memories from it. Got to hang in the club house, rub down the baseballs before the games, the whole works. Good times.
