  1. I don't play fantasy, so how do you know most teams sit their stars on sunday...is this a fact? I don't know..havent played fantasy since I was a kid.
  2. I agree with the first part the rest I dont. Day games and Sunday games go hand in hand. I seen the Sunday record was like 4-13 or something. Well, we can blame espn, if it wasn't for the Yankees Redsox Dodgers love fest, maybe we could get some Sunday night games....oh, well then that means Jessica Mendoza, yuck nvm.
  3. The last sentence is exactly how I feel.
  4. Well yes an opinion, i think a valid one though. I would also add Chase Anderson to the list of regressed players Davies too. Interesting angle on the "It's a life question".
  5. This guy is right, every team has about a 25% winning percentage on sundays. It's not just the brewers guys.
  6. It's more about looking at past rebuilds/teardowns, and seeing how long it usually takes for a team to become competitive again. Brewers started their teardown at the deadline in 2015, and started playing .500 ball around the deadline in 2016 and winning baseball in 2017. That's a lot earlier than you normally expect to see results. It depends on how it happens. If the WC game comes about with like the second or third best record in the NL, then yeah that's a success sadly spoiled by the randomness of a 1-game winner takes all format. Missing the playoffs this year to me says nothing about on schedule or not. The team is competitive, but with some major holes still. Everyone is under team control for 2019, and most beyond that. Depends on who you mean by "anybody". Stearns is not getting fired regardless of playoff in 2018 or 2019. Counsell is unlikely to, and if it happens I'd argue it's more a case of having found someone even better, than as a result of having performed poorly enough to be sacked. Impossible from the outside to really judge a hitting coach and what impact he really has, positive or negative. Probably the most likely spot on the coaching team to see change though. For CC; see above. Yeah, not gonna bother with that. The phrasing and tone of the questions doesn't really imply trying to really understand, they sound like someone who has made up his mind and is trying to argue for why the team isn't on schedule. I don't recognize the above at all. It's not about just looking at the current record, but about the state of the organization. For instance, the Royals 80-82 in 2017 was a disaster and definitely not on schedule; they had a team filled with impending free agents (Cain, Hosmer, Moustakas, Escobar) and a poor farm system. It was their last chance to win anything for many years. The Rays finished with the same 80-82 record, but without the FA situation, without any awful big contracts holding them back, with a ton of young pitching talent etc. One team had a bright future, one didn't. So going back to the Brewers: The team is 3 years removed from the start of the rebuild, less than 2 years removed from finishing the teardown (Thornburg trade). The team has held the NL best record for large parts of the season, and are currently in a playoff spot and still have a shot at winning the division. This is with no impending free agents this year other than Kratz, Miley and potentially Moustakas (Mutual option) so everyone is coming back for 2019. Then for 2020, only Chacin and Jennings among the 2018 contributors aren't coming back. Plenty of players who recently made it to MLB (Hader, Burnes, Peralta, Woodruff) or look likely to do so soon (Dubon, Nottingham, Ray, Hiura etc). Noone can predict the future, but MLB baseball is largely a cyclical affair, and everything points to the Brewers still being on the upswing of that. 13 games over .500 in mid-August, would be in the playoffs if the season ended today, and more likely to improve than regress going forward? Yeah, I'll say we're on schedule. Well 13 games over .500 is good. But when you consider they have played under .500 ball for the last 65 games or so...its not that great. My worry is about all the players on this team who have regressed from last year or from the first half. Usually once you start to regress, it happens faster and faster, what will some of these players look like next year, if we have them. We will have to add additional players, to "be on schedule" and I'm not talking about just from the farm. My tone, if you can call it that..since you are basing it on written words, is base off of the past futility. Can you blame me? I would love to be a optimistic brewers fan. I am just worried about having to rebuild the rebuild. I love our owner, I'm not as high on Stearns as some. I like some if the moves, but they have to transition into sucess can't just have nice personal seasons. Oh and CC, well I think he is about as good a manager as he was a power hitter, Take that for what it's worth. Interesting reply, thanks
  7. Haha I love it! Well said.
  8. That last part was supposed to be in blue?
  9. The main benefit for Tampa was unloading a few million, which we could have easily taken on. I've never heard of a "PTBNL or cash considerations" being anything of significance. In almost all cases, if a PTBNL is significant it is known ahead of time. It is going to be a light return. IF it ends up being a player, probably something along the caliber of a Yeison Coca PTBNL. Yes would have been nice to get him...jeez and for nothing?? Well played Stearns.
  10. That's all? You watch everything else? Impressive. Thanks for sharing. Personally I don't watch hockey, golf, dog shows, lacrosse, ultimate frisbee and numerous other things I'm probably not even aware of. It would be exhausting if I had to share that information constantly to all the people I meet. Kudos for keeping on top of that with your disinterest in the NFL, that's some real dedication right there. Definition of triggered.

I am a Arab American and the NFL is dead to me too... got a problem with that? Kudos for sharing your life story.
  12. Seabass "People still have parties? Dead to me..." Yeah, cool people do....
  13. That is a real shame. Seriously, I know he is a cardinal, but come on. You like seeing good players get hurt? If there is some juicy info about carpenter being a piece of crap maybe I'd agree, but j haven't hear anything..... otherwise this is despicable.
  14. I don't think you can assume that the Brewers will continue on a .500 pace the rest of the way. The roster is good enough to get hot over an extended period if the bullpen issues correct themselves and the starters pitch to their seasonal norms. The recent bullpen struggles and some shakiness in the rotation could also make .500 very difficult. I agree with this.
  15. I'm a Arab born brewers fan, haha yes, i know! Ok, so what if the Brewers miss the playoffs? People a few months ago seemed alot more confident about making the playoffs. I seen people trying to matchup our rotations verse others in the playoffs. Weren't we 80% to make the playoffs a few months ago?? I forgot the source. Now I see slot of people saying, "If we make the playoffs" I keep seeing people saying even if they miss the playoffs the brewers are "On schedule" Well I have a few questions for those people. 1.Who made this schedule, when did they make it, and where can I find what it says about the brewers in '19 '20 '21? Heck, id like to make some bets! 2. At what point in time will people stop saying the Brewers are on schedule(if the brewers are not producing results). What if the crew misses the playoffs this year and in '19? What if they make the playoffs this year or next year but into the 1 game playoff and get smoked. Is that success? Is that on schedule? Will a 1 game playoff loss be sufficient next year? 3.If the brewers miss the playoffs this year, by say 3 games...is anybody fired? What if the Brewers win more games this year but miss the playoffs by more then 1 game like last year? What if the Brewers end up with less wins this year then last, and obviously miss the playoffs? Still on schedule after 2 huge off-season acquisitions? 4. Darnell Coles....is he the scape goat? Does CC have any heat on his butt, this year or next? I personally think some of these people that say the brewers are in schedule just look for an average team a couple games above. 500. Anything more and they are ahead of schedule. Anything less and they are ahead of schedule. I really feel these people would justify being 15 games under .500 somehow. I'm really trying to understand this. I think it's a cop out honestly. If they don't make the playoffs after their start again, saying they are still on pace and over achieving, that is a gosh darn cop out. Plain and simple. Any answers from non condescending smart brewer fans would be awesome. Or general thoughts on missing the playoffs this year. Can we keep it on topic guys, no attacks, Insults, don't be condescending, I see alot of that here.
  16. At very worst the team is right on schedule (yes, even if they miss the playoffs) and that is only because the timetable has been accelerated as a result of them overachieving each of the last two seasons. Entering this season general consensus was that we would be competitive for a WC spot as the WAS, CHI & LAD "super teams" were all considered division locks & that is exactly where we are at the moment. This team was not considered a postseason lock prior to the season, so if they don't make the postseason it would hard for me to consider that a disaster as it has always been a realistic outcome. I see your point. I really do. But let's look at it through a casual fans eyes (which I am not). The brewers missed the playoffs by 1 game last year. What if they miss the playoffs by 3 games this year? By definition, that is regression. Yes you have to take into account they might win more games this year than last. Alot of people keep talking about this "schedule" Whom is setting this schedule? When did they set the schedule...So 2019 is the year? 2020? Or we are just gonna say after 2018 we are gonna be really good and hope some of these guys pan out Burned and Peralta namely. What if we miss the playoffs the next 2-3 years, are we still on schedule, are we gonna keep saying this? Then there is the chance Sterns leaves...its a big puzzle, which intrigues me. Let's hope for the best. With the addition of Yelich and Caine, after missing the playoffs by 1 game, should you have a very good chance? Then there is the "same old brewers mantra" brewers fade second half every season, always pretenders. We become a joke, especially to cub fans (grrrrr). We could probably say the brewers front office caters more to the casual fan then the hardcore fan? Ehh, idk. To me it isn't disastrous to have another great first half and the same old brewers the second half....but it's gonna have an impact on certain fans no doubt. Sorry for the babbling and going I different directions.
  17. I wish we got Sunday night games, dang Yankees, Cubs, Dodgers,Redsox..to me that doesn't seem fair that Sunday night games are 90% teams mentioned. Heck they don't even show the Astros, Phillies, Braves..they don't even show the ASTROS? Haha, the last time Astros got play on Sunday night is when Jessica Mendoza tried telling the world series champs how they should run their franchise. (As far as signing Osuna) Ya, I am sure they need advice. I do think it's unfair, I am sure there are many teams who have huge differences in day/night splits. Also a big change I see and hear from brewer fans, here and with people I talk to is, "If we make the playoffs" I personally think it would be a disaster if we missed the playoffs, then had to listen to people that lie to themselves about this team talk about how we are ahead of schedule and how competitive the NL is. I don't want excuses. I want results. I don't want grit, I want wins. I don't want mediocrity, I want a champion. Seems way to many give the excuses and are ok with mediocrity....heck Maybe average feels like greatness to them, because of how bad this team has been for so long, minus a few years.
