  1. [quote Hader didn't pitch today because he threw 2 innings yesterday and 1 the day before. I guess I'm trying to figure out if you're being serious here? I'm quite serious. I recall the "standing ovation" that he got at Miller park and the to head to the West coast. Granted he pitched okay at AT&T Park but it could be a lingering issue. No one has any clue as to why CC hasn't used him as much and I give a possibility. What is your guess then???
  2. Perhaps Counsell knows that Hader is "under stress" and reluctant to pitch him. Do you recall the vicious BOOS he got in San Francisco?? It could effect a younger guy like Hader...No one else seems to give an explanation as to why he isn't pitching more......??????????
  3. You guys are missing the mental component of pitching. I'm not a "stat head" but how has Hader been since All-Star break? And what happened during the All-Star game? Pitching is not just physical but mental as well...............
  4. Why not move Braun to lead off?? I know Joe Maddon does it with Rizzo and has had success.
  5. Truth be told, I grew up as a kid on the West side of Chicago.
  6. Cardinals are going to take the division. You can book it!!
  7. We can catch the Cubs, maybe. The Cardinals, I just don't know...........
  8. When I was a kid I got to choose who I could live with mom or dad. In this case, the Cubs or Cardinals. Who is going to be your daddy??????
  9. The pathetic Cubs have scored 4 run the last 5 or 6 games. And lost tonight. "Cool" Joe Maddon says their is nothing wrong. Thank God we don't have a manager like that!
  10. I was one of the first kids I know of who was suspended from a game due to "poor sportsmanship". After the game, when we had to do the traditional hi-five to the opposing team, I spit in my hand and put gum in it. Coach Cooper argued my suspension but the rich kids who ran the league got their way. I was quit the beast on the mound.
  11. We can gain a game for sure. But the Cubs are like cockroaches. Just when you think you got rid of them all, they come back........
  12. I assume Chicago being a "big market" team has handled this situation before. Alfonso Soriano's contract comes to mind.
  13. SCOREBOARD WATCHERS: The Cubs are losing to the lowly Tigers going into the 9th, 2-1!!!!
  14. Grindr, I heard it's a great place to meet people for the young folks.
  15. Almost all theses run are unearned. Are defense is is a sad state!!
  16. I'm from Illinois so maybe we have different values or something? I would never wish injury on a professional athlete.
  17. Did you ever play Little League? I was a 3X All-Star in that and Pony League thanks to my old Coach Cooper. It's too bad he died early from lung cancer because I always thought he could manage better than 1/2 the MLB managers today. I highly doubt that the Cubs organization signs a youngster without looking at their past social media history.
  18. Who knows if they even have insurance on Yu's contract, insurance is not a standard thing on every MLB contract and even when it exists it doesn't cover 100% of the contract. Wouldn't it make sense to take insurance on a contract worth $120 million??? I mean that is a large amount of money, I think.
  19. The Nats did the right thing even though I'm sure some of their fans thought it was a "slap in the face". They had some huge expectations to fill at the beginning of the season.
  20. I live on the border of Wisconsin and Illinois. I have many friends/family who are Cubs fans. I grew up in Wisconsin though, so always preferred the Brewers.
  21. After his World Series melt down, the guy is never going to be the same. I think Alex Rodriguez was right when he talked about it causing "disorder" in the Cubs locker room. Although, I think the team still has a tough mentality. The Cubs still have a re-surging Hendricks, Lester, Hamels and an unkown in Quintana who can look like a Cy Young one game and garbage the next.
  22. Yu Darvish wasn't much good for the Cubs even before the injury. The Chris "Mad Dog" Russo show last week were talking about Darvish and possible retirement. Especially if it's a tommy john surgery. I wonder if the Cubs will be forced to eat the $120 million contract if he retires?
  23. Oh, bigotry. Kind of like a certain relief pitcher we all know??
  24. Seems like something somebody says when they get dumped while dating, to make themselves feel better. Chicago North has enough money to do whatever they want, so if their A and AA teams suck, it doesn't mean the Brewers will be winning anything at the MLB level. LOL, and very true!
