  1. LOL. You just needed to chill all along dude. Cards are not nearly good enough for the World Series this year.
  2. Just no on any thought of Woodruff batting. I’m not defending Healy but it’s probably been over a year since Woody has taken any kind of batting practice.
  3. This game is going exactly the way of the regular season. Woody pitches a gem but the Brewers struggle all night to put a single run on the board.
  4. Well there we go. Redturds may not even advance
  5. We shall see. But I think you underestimate how amazingly good the Dodgers truly are. And luckily, they will play the Cards should they defeat the Brewers. The Dodgers are my secondary team. I know how good they are. It doesn't matter. I hear you. I only wish they would play each other in a 7 game series which would favor LA even more. My one concern in that series is Buehler’s blister issue. But I still think the Dodgers will expose the Cards as a mediocre team at best.

  7. I’ve been thinking that too. The only team that might stop them is the Dodgers. Look at the numbers. You have to score at least 5 runs against the Dodgers to stand a chance. And once you do, your odds are still only a little better than a coin flip. Cards will get served their humble pie in the NLDS. That’s the one consolation to the Brewers losing the Dodgers series.
  8. No. Watch the Dodgers trounce then in the NLDS.
  9. With the DH this year I highly doubt Brandon Woodruff is in any condition to bat tonight.
  10. Man, looking at the lineup I'm not too confident we can score many runs tonight, and we're going to need to. Teams that scored 5 or more runs against LA in 2020-15 wins, 9 losses Teams that scored 4 or fewer runs against LA in 2020-2 wins, 34 losses The only way to make the numbers work in our favor is to score 5 or more runs. And even then, there's only a 62.5% chance of winning because their offense is so fricking good.
  11. For me the lack of Reds' offense has been one of the biggest surprises of this season. I'll admit I was one of the people that thought they'd go deep into the playoffs. I still wouldn't write them off, especially if they keep most of their core, because I'm of the persuasion that we shouldn't draw many conclusions from an abbreviated 60 game season. But it sucks for them to lose Bauer and possibly Castellanos. Not to mention Votto and Moose aren't getting any younger.
  12. The Dodgers have lost back-to-back games four times this year. We need to come out with guns blazing and a score a lot of runs to do it. A little old fashioned lady luck won't hurt either, but it can be done.
  13. The thing is, the Dodgers offense is just way too good for other teams to win like that. They didn't get shut out once this year. And they only lost twice in low scoring games. 3-1 vs SF on Jul 26 2-1 vs SD on Aug 10 For the Brewers to have any realistic chance their bats need to majorly wake up and they have to put at least 5 runs on the board. And then they have to hold the Dodgers to four runs or less (in a season in which they average 5.8 runs per game). That's why it's so dang hard to beat the Dodgers.
  14. Here's another interesting factoid: The Dodgers lost 17 times in 2020. Among those losses, teams scored 5 or more runs in 15 of 17 games. In fact, 11 of 17 losses occurred when teams scored either 5 or 6 runs in the game. So 5 runs scored ended up being the magic number again yesterday and we couldn't get there.
  15. Not to dwell on the past, but once again, it was bad offense that ultimately cost us the game yesterday night. Clutch hitting has been basically non-existent all year and that carried right into this series. There were multiple times the Brewers could have tied the game or pulled ahead but no one came up with the big hit. Despite Suter's start, the pen kept kept the Brewers in it all the way to the end. The Dodgers scored an average of 5.8 runs/game in 2020 and had 39 games in which they scored 5 or more runs. So I would say our pitching performance was overall very adequate.
  16. Well I think our only real chance tonight is to jump on Buehler early. Maybe he’s a little shaky out of the gates given he missed some time with the blister issue. Then we have to hope our pitching can minimize damage against an extremely potent lineup. If we go quietly through the order the first time around and Buehler is on cruise control it’s going to be a long night. I don’t think the Dodgers go more than 3 or 4 innings without putting at least one run on the board. Which is why we have to put pressure on them as soon as possible by scoring some early runs.
  17. Overall, I'm pleased with the lineup tonight. Definitely unorthodox but 1-4 looks good on paper. Hiura in the 8 spot adds a little pop at the bottom of the order.
  18. The silver lining is the Cards would have to play the Dodgers in best of 5 should they beat Milwaukee.
  19. The Reds even though they added a lot in the off season their offense is not all that different than the Brewers. That's how it's panned out so far. And the Reds spent a whole lot more on their haul than the Brewers.
