    One of the things that made us successful in the 3-4 was that we were good at finding hidden gold in the linebackers and then we didn't need as many big athletic bodies up front. And for the most part our linebackers were disciplined and athletic and now they're just athletic and undisciplined as hell. And the schemes that were used starting with Aranda all the way up through Leonard were very good at generating lanes for linebackers to use.

    I agree. One of the problems with running the spread is everybody else runs it as well so defenses are very acclimated to defending it. If you run something somewhat different that means defenses have to prepare for it in a short window.

    Winning the axe this year might have the most importance to the program in a long long long time. By far the most important game in Fickell's tenure. If they win and get to a bowl with the extra practices it quiets the mob for 5 minutes. If they get trucked Fickell's seat will be hotter than a west texas parking lot in August until they actually show sustained improvement.. I will always hope for a win but right now the Gophs are the better program and as much as he is a douche canoe PJ is not idiot and I fully expect them to follow the Iowa and Nebraska game plans and expose the run defense.

    There should be a minimum standard for facility's to host D1 games.

    Really hope the Niners don't find a way to win that division. Still have little confidence on beating them on the road if they are healthy.

    What has happened to Utah this year? Just lost their 7th in a row. Kyle Whittingham is one of the best coaches in the land.

    First off I would like to say frack Alabama but that said... Holy hell for the side judge that threw that penalty flag 5 seconds after the fourth town play started to incorrectly say the receiver was covered up probably does need to be investigated for gambling.

    I'll give him another year on 2 conditions. #1. They beat the gophs. #2. He rolls a semi sized barbeque grill to the 50 yard line at the camp. Soaks that damn vest with 50 gallons of napalm and has a funeral pyre that can be seen in Wausau. Then promises to never try that high school level psycho babble ever again.

    If I was an AD looking for a new head coach Mike Shanahan the OC for Indiana would be high on my list.

    Bills are going to kick themselves after this one. Chiefs are ready to be had and they can't generate some distance on the scoreboard.
