    I really wanted them to go after him. Yes he was having a crappy year and could be had probably for a reasonable price and his contract would be off the books after this year. He's one of those guys that when he gets hot can carry an offense for 2 weeks and come play off time that would have been a really nice card to play.

    I think the biggest fear when they get outside the country is a kidnapping for ransom situation.

    The difference is he really struggles to get balls passed a hitter compared to Pyamps and with a runner at second I'll take the guy that is more able to strike out guys and not risk a dribbler through the middle.

    And yet that's going to mean next to nothing in the playoffs when we actually have to score against a Justin Verlander type starter.

    I just don't know what they can do at this point. We will have by far the weakest first base offense in the playoffs. Hoskins has gotten to the point where he's unplayable.

    Make mistakes like that in the playoffs and you're going to find your tenure as a manager a very short one.

    Right now he needs to be the last guy out of the pen and only used when you absolutely have to. That just made no sense at all

    He'd been having a pretty poor year but he's OPSing .786 for the Dbacks with a .273 batting average and .350 on base percentage.
