I know it's almost all backups and it's the first game of the preseason but losing to the Texans at home stinks no matter what.

Wonder what percentage of the regular season starters will even play a single snap in the preseason.

+1.... really nice bounce back tonight.

Josh Jackson may be toast. He is getting abused. I was glad we drafted him on draft day, but glad we got Alexander with our first and not Jackson like some mocks had . A couple of more halves like this and he won't be around to start the season.

If I had to pick young players off of teams to build an MLB roster for the next 5 years Reynolds would be right near the top of my list.

Not a particularly inspiring performance by the defense. I know they're mostly backups but they can't seem to cover anyone.

    Boom.

    Thank you very much.

Now that is a gift hit.

Need to turn this into a big number.

If he digs out of the box that's a triple.

I'm a little worried it might take six or seven to win this one as well.

I don't know how many years Reynolds has left of control but I really hope the Yankees drop a truckload of money in front of him to get him out of the NL.

I mean, it's Topa's second outing... Cousins, Strickland, Box, Williams, and Hader have all been good to great. Throw in Suter and you've got a really solid 6. It's hard to sweep double-headers. And the Crew is throwing two of their worse pitchers. Happens. Clean it up, get the Phillies a win, take game two, and call it a tread water day. Agreed. It was more meant as a comment on our two latest additions along with topa.

I don't have much faith in our back of the bullpen guys.
  17. yourout
    That will probably do it

    Monster double play there.

He's going to have to pipe one and hope he misses it.

Got to keep Reynolds in the park here to have a chance.

I remember when they were trying to get the funding for Miller Park……and of course these things always are difficult…….there was some discussion at the time to not do the roof to save money……and my thought at the time was…..” Then just don’t build it” It was so obvious to me that the roof was a game changer……especially in this climate. Those were my thoughts at the time as well. Either you put a roof on it or you don't build it.

Wonder what the record is for combined consecutive strikeouts by 2 teams.

Contreras is definitely the leader in the clubhouse for me. Forgot about him.

So he will likely tie the MLB record. I assume it has been done before. Wonder how many other times? Actually in 2003, B.J. Ryan recorded a win without throwing a pitch for the Orioles (picked off a runner before throwing a pitch). Wow. Never knew that.
