  1. Andruw Monasterio's second Winter League blast, but his team gave up 7 runs in the 9th inning to lose 9-6:
  2. Wisconsin native Caleb Boushley is headed to South Korea as well:
  3. Thanks for this. Yeager is a free agent and some of are assuming Bryant’s injury will keep him on the shelf for awhile. But we do have former Major Leaguer RHP JB Bukauskas hopefully healthy now, along with 6’7” LHP Brian Fitzpatrick.
  4. Winter League stats to date: In Venezuela: Andruw Monasterio (Caribes de Anzotegui) – 4-for-14, 1 HR, 2 RBIs, 5 BB, 1 SB in 19 PAs Jeferson Quero (Cardenales de Lara) - .241 AVG / .803 OPS, 6 HR, 20 RBIs in 97 PAs Eduardo Garcia (Cardenales de Lara) - .286 AVG / .827 OPS, 3 HR, 11 RBIs, 3 SB in 82 PAs Stiven Cruz (Tiburones de La Guaira) – 4.0 IP, 3 R, 8 H, 1 BB, 3 Ks Yerlin Rodriguez (Tiburones de La Guaira) – 1.2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 3 BB, 2 HBP, 5 Ks In the Dominican Republic Anthony Seigler (Aguilas Cibaenas) - 1-for-10, 1 BB, 2 RBIs, 1 SB in 12 PAs Carlos Rodriguez (Toros del Este) - 3.18 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, 9.0 K/9 in 17 IP Sammy Peralta (Estrellas Orientales) – 1.29 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 6.4 K/9 in 7 IP Steward Berroa (Aguilas Cibaenas) - .324 AVG, .959 OPS, 1 HR, 6 RBIs, 10 SB in 53 PAs
  5. OF Carlos Rodriguez joins his third club:
  6. Franchise number 5 for Joey Wiemer:
  7. Anyone want a 29-year old, left-handed hitting third baseman who hit 26 homers, stole 25 of 27 bases and had a 68 BB / 96 K ratio in Korea last year, but can't play shortstop? Meet Sung-mun Song:
  8. Good to see Alex Jackson likely lock in solid wages (estimated $1.8 million) for the first time:
  9. I think he’d be on the 40-man from December to late February, then on the 60-day injured list til September, spend maybe a few active days on the MLB roster in September (or let him do MILB rehab), then need to do the remaining balance of 90 days on the active roster to start the 2027 season. Not an expert though.
  10. I don’t really the downside in selecting injured RHP Brandon Birdsell and converting him away from the dark side:
  11. Noting some of the highest ranked (MLB.com rankings for each club) players not added to MLB rosters and thus available in the Rule 5 Draft on December 10th: OF Yohendrick Pinango – 7 P Brandon Birdsell – 9 P Henry Lalane – 9 OF Victor Arias – 9 P Brock Selvidge – 10 P Jagger Haynes – 10 C Daniel Susac – 11 P Blake Burkhalter – 11 SS Cristian Hernandez – 11 P Brendan Beck – 11 SS Josh Kasevich – 12 C Edward Duran – 13 P Mason Adams – 13 P Alimber Santa – 13 P Felix Arronde – 13 P Peyton Pallette – 14 OF Miguel Bleis – 15
  12. Andruw Monasterio is back in Venezuela playing with his usual winter club Caribes de Anzoategui:
  13. If I understand correctly, Woodruff has until 3:00pm CST tomorrow, Tuesday to accept or reject the Qualifying Offer. And all clubs have until the same time tomorrow, Tuesday to protect additional players from the Rule 5 Draft. If Woodruff accepts the Qualifying Offer, one could argue that we'll be MORE likely to select a player in the Rule 5 Draft, since we'd have such an awesome rotation with Peralta, Woodruff, Misiorowski, etc. to ensure we win ~95 games. Whereas if he rejects the Qualifying Offer, we'll likely have to spend money on multiple decent MLB players to make up for his loss. The Yankees and Twins have decisions to make on a number of MLB.com-ranked prospects (10 each), while this article from yesterday touches on at least one difficult Rule 5 decision for each team. Worthless personal note: Unlike every GM, I'm not a fan of stashing a pitching prospect unless it's someone like starting, high velocity, Minor League-dominating Shane Smith, given that only 13 pitchers are allowed on MLB rosters. I usually look for a position player who can more safely languish as the 26th roster spot, like Jonathan Davis did for a long stretch in 2022.
  14. With Luke Adams' solid all-around game, including a far less noisy batting stance, I want to believe we'll start him in AAA next year. Let him see if his uber-patient approach works at that level. Basically the opposite of why we sadly held Jadher back in High-A in 2025. That could mean we'd push Pratt, Wilken, Lara and Adams all to AAA in March, with all 4 likely to find that it's a rather large adjustment. I think that'd be fascinating to watch and root for them to adapt/succeed. It might also be time to just throw Yerlin Rodriguez to the AA Southern League wolves. Sink or swim. Hopefully something finally clicks, so he moves toward the Abner Uribe path. It'll also be a big year for Eric Bitonti in High-A. Will his contact rate be enough or do we risk seeing a .199 average with 200 Ks? Then we've a real bevy of riches with starting pitching in the mid levels: Letson, Manuel Rodriguez, Thompson, Morrison, Knoth, Birchard, Woodward, Melvin Hernandez, Meccage, Dorchies, etc. And let's hope that Hayden Robinson gets back to his pre-injury form in 2026.
  15. They just had to protect Coleman Crow early, thereby taking 60% of the materiality out of this article, didn't they. Sorry man. And then we're selecting even later in the Rule 5 draft than last year, so we're very unlikely to grab someone. Maybe there's a Mark Mathias 2019-type player we'll trade for on November 18 - i.e. someone that another team has a borderline protection decision on.
  16. Edwin Jimenez (2 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 2 Ks - Win) retired 3 of 4 in the 9th inning to close out their AFL Championship win 9-4. Brewers’ pitchers covered 6 of the 9 innings, while Adams (1-for-2, 3 walks, RBI, SB), Adamczewski (2-for-3, double, walk, 2 RBIs) and O’Rae (1-for-4, SB) each contributed meaningfully. Jesus Broca and Anthony Flores together threw 4 IP - 3 R, 4 H, 3 BB, 1 HBP, 1 WP, 6 Ks.
  17. Awesome inning. Luke Adams draws a 1-out walk (3rd of the day) to get things going. A single and walk later, Adamczewski smacks a game-tying 2-run double the other way just over the 3rd base bag. Juan Benjamin follows with a 2-run single to grab a 6-4 advantage. …….. And they kept it going: O’Rae and Adams both singled as part of a 7-run, 12-batter 8th inning to take a 9-4 lead.
  18. Solid 3-up, 3-down 8th inning from Edwin Jimenez (weak liner, pop-out, K). Trailing 4-2, the team’s best chance for a multi-run inning is this bottom of the 8th: Dylan Dreiling, Luke Adams, Blake Mitchell, Dylan Campbell due up.
  19. The Saguaros scored 2 in the bottom of the 6th to make it a 4-2 game. Luke Adams drew a full count walk to load the bases and Adamczewski hit a rifle (102.2mph) right to the second baseman for the 3rd out. The announcers have been raving about the Brewers’ drafting, signings and Luke Adams’ all-around ability.
  20. Anthony Flores was fighting his mechanics for most of the top of the 6th inning, ultimately conceding 1 run and stranding 2. He threw 41 pitches (22 strikes) in his 2 innings of work. Time for the Surprise offense to wake up, trailing 4-0.
  21. Surprise conceded a run in each of the 1st and 2nd innings, then ran themselves out of a 2-on, Adamczewski-up opportunity on a failed double steal to end the 4th inning. Lacking length options in this AFL Championship, Jesus Broca entered in the 2nd inning, giving up a double and RBI triple before retiring 6 straight (well, there was a walk and pick off in there). Anthony Flores gave up an HBP, single and RBI groundout in the 5th inning, so we’re down 3-0 to Peoria at this point. Josh Adamczewski has a single and a walk, Luke Adams has a walk and a stolen base. Dylan O’Rae also started.
