  1. Low-A Carolina trail their series in Kannapolis 3-2, but hopefully have an advantage with rehabbing RHP Max Lazar (4.22 ERA in 32 High-A innings) getting the start. 3B Branlyn Jaraba comes in with a 7-game hitting streak:
  2. - RHP Caleb Boushley activated from AAA Nashville's 7-day injured list - RHP Raul Mendoza released from ACL Brewers Gold
  3. - RHP Jacob Misiorowski (2022 second round draft pick) assigned to Low-A Carolina - RHP Michele Vassalotti placed on Low-A Carolina's 7-day injured list
  4. Wisconsin welcomes DH/OF Jackson Chourio (.797 OPS in High-A, .973 in Low-A) back for his first action since August 17th, as the Timber Rattlers strive to snap out of a 2-and-9 skid at home against Lansing. RHP Carlos F. Rodriguez makes his 5th start for the team, not missing a beat since promotion (1.86 ERA in High-A, 3.53 in Low-A):
  5. The Wisconsin play-by-play suggested a skirmish, but I never imagined it occurred on such a benign pitch. Maybe Armenteros wants an early offseason to get back to whatever’s left of his $3 million signing bonus.
  6. The Wisconsin play-by-play suggested a skirmish, but I never imagined it occurred on such a benign pitch. Maybe Armenteros wants an early offseason to get back to whatever’s left of his $3 million signing bonus.
  7. Tampa AAA affiliate Durham has gotten the good version of LHP Angel Perdomo since claiming him on July 19th: 0.54 ERA with 27 Ks and 4 BBs in 16 2/3 IP. They even slipped him through waivers on August 4th despite me hoping we’d try a little claim-DFA-outright scheme. Well done to Angel.
  8. Just such limited offense for Wisconsin and Biloxi after promotions, a trade and injuries. But it looks like Wisconsin should get Chourio back on Sunday:
  9. Wisconsin trails their series 3-1 at home against Lansing, but 21-year old RHP Alexander Cornielle (3.19 ERA in 101 2/3 Low-A innings) has arrived to make his High-A debut. LF/C/1B Tayden Hall has a 7-game hitting streak and C Darrien Miller has been hit-by-pitch in 3 consecutive games:
  10. AAA Nashville leads a quality Durham side 3 games to 1 this week and has RHP Tyler Herb on the mound to continue his excellent stretch (2.03 ERA over last 40 innings). CF Sal Frelick has an 11-game hitting streak and 14-game on-base streak:
  11. AA Biloxi is tied 1-1 in their rain-soaked series at home against Chattanooga and has LHP Brandon Knarr (4.38 ERA in AA ball) looking to snap a personal 5-game skid. LF/1B Thomas Dillard has a 10-game on-base streak and gets his 2nd outfield start of 2022:
  12. Carolina's tied 2-2 in their series in Kannapolis and has 19-year old RHP Yujanyer Herrera making his 2nd Low-A start tonight (5 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 3 BB, 2 HBP, 3 K in his debut). 18-year old DH/OF Luis Castillo has a 10-game on-base streak and went 4-for-4 with 2 doubles yesterday:
  13. - OF Garrett Mitchell contract selected by MLB Brewers from AAA Nashville (replacing injured OF Jonathan Davis) - OF Tristen Lutz placed on AA Biloxi’s 7-day injured list - C Alex Jackson placed on 60-day injured list with left wrist inflammation (last played August 11 with AAA Nashville)
  14. INF/OF Mark Mathias is enjoying big league success (9-for-18, 2 HR, 8 RBIs):
  15. Thank you for starting this thread. I guess RHP Alexis Ramirez's (part of C Alex Jackson - INF Hayden Cantrelle trade) retirement can be posted here.
  16. That’s quite the loss. Outfoxed. Pinch hit for the wrong guy, meaning we didn’t get the bunt down, didn’t force Cubs to choose whether to walk Taylor to load the bases with 1 out, caused ourselves to force Hiura out of the game when we still needed his bat, ended up having his replacement ground into a double play to end it.
  17. Nothing comes easy for the Shuckers. Cruising 6-0, they crashed into the overpass…five straight Chattanooga hits (all off Castaneda) to open the top of the 5th inning cut it to 6-4. RHP Robbie Baker comes in.
  18. Thank you Rowdy. It’s 3:46am where I live. Win this thing.
  19. 1B Zavier Warren hits his first home run in AA ball, a 3-run shot to extend Biloxi's cushion to 6-0 in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Go Shuckers!!
  20. Victor Castaneda stepped up to strike out 3 consecutive hitters, leaving the bases stranded and retaining the 3-0 Biloxi lead in the 3rd inning. Whew!
  21. Ack. Biloxi was leading 3-0 with runners at 1st and 3rd with 1 out in the bottom of the 2nd inning. and... Got both of those runners thrown out on a non-play - Ray caught stealing 2nd, Holt caught off of 3rd base. Naturally, following that deflation, Castaneda allowed the first 3 batters of the top of the 3rd inning to reach base (walk, single, walk). He'll try to escape.
  22. Wisconsin goes down in order in the 9th inning, wasting Puello's gem (6 1/3 IP, 1 R (0 ER), 1 H, 5 BB, 6 Ks) in a 3-2 loss to also fall behind 3-1 in the series.
  23. Wisconsin loads the bases in the bottom of the 8th inning, but fails to score and remains down 3-2. On to the 9th, with Meeker pitching in the top half and Acosta, Raabe and Cipion due up in the bottom half.
  24. CF Garrett Whitley gets Biloxi off to a solid start in Game 2, hitting an opposite field 2-run homer for a 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning.
  25. RHP Cam Robinson wasn't his usual sharp self, but retired the final 3 batters of the game to seal Nashville's 11-8 win tonight and edge to a 3-1 series lead.
