  1. Kind of nice of the Marlins to have Adam Mazur throw 166 pitches over 6 days. Andrew Vaughn just took his 91st pitch today (and 9th pitch of this at-bat) deep for a 3-run homer to make it a 6-5 game in the top of the 7th inning. Bobby Dalbec then hit his third double of the game, but a lineout double play ended the chance.
  2. The Dinges injury basically cost Wisconsin a tie game and potentially the series. Baez K'd and Nicasia lined out to strand Eduardo at 2nd base, down 5-4 in that 8th inning. A Guilarte single was all they got in the 9th. They lose the home series 4 games to 2. And with Walther exiting a Low-A game early a few days ago (no news or injury placement yet), this may force Victor Torres over to High-A Wisconsin for actual playing time.
  3. Task complete. 6-up, 6-down for Garrett Hodges. Carolina wins 4-2.
  4. Hodges is halfway thru: fly out-K swinging-K swinging in the 8th. On to the 9th, Mudcats up 3 to 2.
  5. Garrett Hodges had a 2-inning save on Wednesday. Can he do it again for Carolina today? They lead 3-2.
  6. If Wisconsin is going to rally from down 5-2, it probably needs to start now, in the bottom of the 8th: Areinamo-Dinges-Burke-Eduardo due up.
  7. Up 3-1 in the top of the 7th, Carolina had 1st and 3rd (Pena walk, Bitoni infield single) with nobody out but failed to cash in (Anderson ground out, Di Turi pop out, Holguin K). That's a dangerous recipe. Bryan Rivera conceded 1 run in the bottom half (2-out double, single), but thankfully stranded a runner at 2nd base. Carolina 3, Delmarva 2 as they head to the 8th inning.
  8. Anthony Flores conceded 3 runs on 2 homers to the first 10 batters, but Blake Burke snatched 2 back in the bottom of the 3rd inning.
  9. Everyone knew this was gone just from the sound of the bat. 3-0 Carolina with one Eric Bitonti swing:
  10. Biloxi had the earliest game today, with both offenses producing 2 singles and 0 runs through 4 frames, before Bladimir Restituyo popped the seal on the 9th pitch of his at-bat with 1 out in the top of the 5th. An Ethan Murray single, helpful pitching change, 3 walks and an infield single followed for a 3-0 advantage:
  11. Brandon Woodruff is making his first rehab appearance since June 3, as the AAA Sounds look for a Sunday win at Jacksonville to even this week’s series 3-3. C Jorge Alfaro has 9 hits over his last 5 games.
  12. RHP Bryce Meccage needs to set aside his rough stretch (8.27 ERA in last 20.2 IP) to lead the Low-A Mudcats to a series-clinching win at Delmarva. SS Luis Pena is 12-for-29 with 5 extra-base hits during his 7-game hitting streak.
  13. 20-year old LHP Anthony Flores is also making his 2nd start this week (4.1 IP, 4 R, 4 Ks on Tuesday), with High-A Wisconsin needing a win to salvage a 3-3 home series draw against Quad Cities. SS Jadher Areinamo is hitting .397 during his 16-game hitting streak.
  14. RHP Tyson Hardin looks for his 2nd solid start of the week (6 IP, 1 R, 6 Ks in 73 pitches on Tuesday), this time in a victory which would give AA Biloxi a 4-2 series win at Columbus. 3B Zavier Warren has a 7-game hitting streak and Ethan Murray makes his 5th start of 2025 at shortstop.
  15. RF Garrett Spain has gunned down a runner at 3rd base and also hit a 2-run homer. Biloxi’s up 3-0. Thank you Garrett.
  16. RHP Jayden Dubanewicz (2.63 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, 6.9 K/9 in 37.2 ACL/Low-A IP) makes his 3rd Low-A start (4th appearance) and Edgardo Ordonez finds himself catching his 4th game in 4 days. Carolina is tied at 2 games apiece in its series at Delmarva.
  17. Good start for AA Biloxi, as Luis Lara doubled and Zavier Warren delivered a first pitch, 2-out RBI single.
  18. RHP Jaron DeBerry has been a K-master over his last 3 games (13.2 IP, 5 R, 17 Ks) and looks to lead High-A Wisconsin to a 3-2 home series lead over Quad Cities. DH Hedbert Perez’s 2-homer, 6-RBI game yesterday lifted his season OPS to .806.
  19. C Jeferson Quero (.652 OPS in 70 PAs) is back behind the plate for the first time in 10 days, as AAA Nashville aims for a 3-2 series lead at Jacksonville. RHP Tobias Myers comes in with a 12-inning scoreless streak.
  20. LHP Tate Kuehner (2.85 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, 9.8 K/9 in 66.1 IP) and AA Biloxi seek to grab a 3-2 series lead at Columbus. 3B Ethan Murray (.916 OPS in 138 PAs) is back atop the lineup after a day off.
  21. 18-year old RHP Carlos Carra is making his 3rd stateside start (9th appearance) for ACL Brewers. He made it thru 3.2 innings with no hits or walks (2 HBP), but the next 5 Guardians reached base for 4 runs, including a solo homer and bases-clearing double. Brewers trail 4-3.
  22. It’s the ACL Guardians and their 39-man roster (including 4 rehabbing) against the 25-man ACL Brewers. Brewers lead 3-0 early but just squandered a bases loaded, nobody out opportunity in the top of the 4th inning.
  23. - C Eric Martinez assigned to Low-A Carolina from High-A Wisconsin - RHP Cameron Wagoner placed on High-A Wisconsin’s full season injured list
  24. @BaseballEnjoyer Sore arm for Quero. Sweet said he might catch late in this Jacksonville series.
