  1. I assume this link will go straight to 5 minutes of video highlights.
  2. The second (and last of 2026) Spring Breakout Game saw a strong Brewers’ offense jump out to a 3-0 lead and rally late to grab an 8-7 advantage, but 4 errors and a run-scoring passed ball cost the squad in a 9-8 defeat to the Athletics. SS Jesus Made (1-for-3) smacked the first pitch of the game 400 feet at 112.7mph for a double, with DH Luis Pena and 1B Blake Burke (2-for-3) following with RBI hits. Starting RHP Tyson Hardin (2 IP) retired the first 3 batters he faced, but 4 hits (2 of the infield variety) and 2 walks cost him 3 earned runs as the A’s tied the game in the second frame. The Brewers re-took the lead 4-3 in the 3rd inning on a Burke single and 3 walks, but could have gotten more (K, ground out with bases loaded). An error, triple and homer off of RHP Brett Wichrowski and homer against LHP Jesus Broca put the good guys in a 7-4 hole in the 3rd inning, but RHP Ethan Dorchies and LHP Wande Torres combined on 4 shutout innings to allow for a comeback. Super-subs Eric Bitonti and Darrien Miller blasted solo homers in the 7th and 8th innings, with Brady Ebel and 3B Andrew Fischer following with RBI doubles to pull ahead 8-7. Three A’s singles and a walk tied the game against LHP Mark Manfredi in the bottom of the 8th inning. He bounced back to strike out the final 2 batters, but not before a run-scoring passed ball put the Athletics in front for good. An 11-10 hit advantage and 7-for-7 stolen base success rate (including 3 for Burke) wasn’t enough to overcome the defensive miscues in this one. 15 Brewers’ hitters participated, along with 6 pitchers. The Minor League seasons kick off with AAA Nashville on March 27, High-A Wisconsin on April 2 and AA Biloxi and Low-A Wilson on April 3.
  3. - Reese McGuire found a quick landing spot and uplift to an MLB contract:
  4. The A’s starting pitcher is 22-year old LHP Jamie Arnold, their number 2 prospect and the 11th overall selection of the 2025 draft. His signing bonus was nearly $6m and he’s yet to make his MILB debut, though he’s pitched in 2 MLB Spring Training games.
  5. Here’s the lineup for the Brewers’ second (and last this year) Spring Breakout Game this afternoon:
  6. C Reese McGuire has opted out of his Minor League contract:
  7. SS Cooper Pratt with another impressive play:
  8. A slew of injury placements and one assignment: - RHP Joshua Flores - full season - LHP Russell Smith - 60-day - RHP Daniel Corniel - 60-day - RHP Tyler Bryant - 60-day - RHP Gerson Garabito - 60-day - RHP Will Rudy - 60-day - RHP Chase Costello - 60-day - RHP Josh Timmerman - 60-day - RHP Griffin Tobias - 60-day - RHP Wenderlyn King - 60-day - RHP Cole Phillips assigned to ACL Brewers
  9. While Mariners’ prospect Ryan Sloan was the story early (9-up, 9-down, no balls hit to the outfield), solid defense and 3B Jett Williams’ leadoff double in the bottom of the 4th inning helped turn the tide. DH Luis Pena struck the big blow via a 3-run shot in the bottom of the 6th inning, after which the Brewers never looked back in their 7-3 victory. RHP Bishop Letson started and topped out at 97.2mph, tossing 32 pitches and conceding 1 run over 1.1 IP. LHP Brian Fitzpatrick stranded 2 inherited runners to keep the game tight at 1-0. The Brewers defense turned 3 double plays and Bryce Meccage and Jaron DeBerry combined to cover 5 innings (1 unearned run). 8th inning doubles by super-subs Eric Bitonti, Andrew Fischer and Daniel Dickinson extended the Brewers lead to 7-2 before the Mariners added a late solo homer. 9 different players tallied 1 hit each for the Brewers, as 17 batters and 6 pitchers saw action. Quero went 2-for-2 on ABS challenges, while Darrien Miller was 1-for-2. The next Spring Breakout game is Sunday, March 22 against the A’s.
  10. Eric Bitonti entered in the 7th inning, Andrew Fischer in the 8th inning. They both doubled in their first plate appearances, with Fischer getting the RBI for a 6-2 advantage:
  11. RHP Jaron DeBerry was solid covering the 7th and 8th innings (0 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 3 Ks, 1 GIDP):
  12. Awesome interview with RHP Bryce Meccage, who threw 3 innings in the game (1 R (0 ER), 4 H, 1 BB, 2 Ks):
  13. Luis Lara center field defense:
  14. After back-to-back walks to Jett Williams and Jesus Made in the bottom of the 6th inning, Luis Pena deposits the next pitch over the right center field wall for a 3-run homer and 4-2 lead:
