    Manuel Rodriguez did his part for Wisconsin (4 IP, 1 R, 3 Ks) and exited with the game tied 1-1, but Dikember Sanchez had his 5th bad outing in 6 tries: 3 runs, 2 hits, 3 walks. Sanchez now has 13 BB and 4 Ks in 5.2 IP on the season. Maybe some time in the pitching lab would help. Eduardo Garcia was hit-by-pitch and immediately “left the game due to an injured leg” in the 8th inning. Blake Burke has a double and single (2 of Wisco’s 4 hits), but unfortunately grounded out with 2-on, 1-out while trailing 5-1 in that 8th frame.

    The AAA Sounds can capture a 4-2 home series win over Durham with a victory tonight behind RHP Jacob Misiorowski, who (you guessed it!) is making his 2nd start of the week (6 IP, 0 R, 8 Ks on Tuesday). The lineup was later changed (Alfaro in, Hall out, Oliva leading off…).

    The High-A Timber Rattlers can win their first series of 2025 with a victory in Cedar Rapids tonight. 19-year old RHP Manuel Rodriguez makes his 2nd start of the week (5 IP, 1 R, 3 Ks on Tuesday). CF Eduardo Garcia returns after exiting early on Friday and C Eric Martinez makes his first start since July 2024 with the ACL Brewers.

    The AA Shuckers aim to polish off a 5-1 home series win over Montgomery behind LHP Tate Kuehner, who’s making his 2nd start of the week (5.2 IP, 2 R, 7 Ks on Tuesday). 3B Brock Wilken comes in with an 18-game on-base streak. C Victor Torres (not played in 2025) is likely the only healthy bench bat.

    So we’ve got the Brewers struggling, a new injury concern (Pratt HBP on hands, though he did steal a base and score before exiting) and a 4-Win Saturday affiliate sweep. Biloxi has roared back to a .500 record with a second straight series win. Made hit the grand slam for Carolina, while Hedbert Perez, Zavier Warren, Luke Adams, Wes Clarke and Anthony Seigler homered elsewhere. Alexander Cornielle and Melvin Hernandez each tossed 5 scoreless innings of 3-hit ball. Logan Henderson only allowed 1 hit (a homer) over 6 innings of impeccable work. And Tyson Hardin finally conceded some runs (just 2). I’d imagine a Brewers’ staffer spent part of last night trying to convince the brass to book Jadher Areinamo on an early morning flight from Cedar Rapids to points south (e.g. 5:30am Atlanta->Biloxi) and Josh Adamczewski to points north (7:29am Columbia->DC->Cedar Rapids). Or maybe Dylan O’Rae will magically re-appear in Biloxi.

    The Low-A Mudcats turn to 19-year old RHP Bryan Rivera (1.08 ERA, 9 Ks in 8.1 IP) to help break a 4-game skid at Columbia (including 3 one-run losses). DH/C Marco Dinges has 8 RBIs over his last 5 games.

    RHP Logan Henderson (last pitched with Brewers on Sunday: 6 IP, 1 R, 9 Ks) is back with AAA Nashville, ready to lead them to a 3-2 home series lead over Durham. C Jorge Alfaro has 5 homers in his last 6 games.

    AA Biloxi seeks its 4th consecutive victory at home against Montgomery, with talented RHP Alexander Cornielle making his 4th start (0.71 ERA, 18 Ks in 12.2 IP). With a thin bench (just Ramon Rodriguez and young Victor Torres available), Zavier Warren makes his 4th-ever start at second base (in his 433rd career MILB start).

    High-A Wisconsin has won 2 straight and has solid 23-year old RHP Tyson Hardin (0.00 ERA, 16 Ks in 14.2 IP) starting at Cedar Rapids this afternoon. It looks like young C Eric Martinez might be the only available bench bat, so let’s stay healthy! And also win: 1 - Guilarte - 2B 2 - Areinamo - SS 3 - Burke - 1B 4 - Wood - C 5 - Baez - 3B 6 - Perez - RF 7 - Hall - DH 8 - Vargas - LF 9 - Y. Garcia - CF X - Hardin - P

    I guess it’s just me pushing the panic button, but I kind of thought we HAD to bat Haase for Capra there. Of course it’d force Durbin, Collins or Turang to play short to protect the 4-3 lead after Haase’s 2-run blast and leave us with no remaining bench position players…not desperate enough yet I guess.

    The Sounds had 13 hits and went 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts as they grabbed an 8-5 win over Durham to even their series. You’ve seen the Cameron homer above. Jorge Alfaro also added his 7th blast. Deivi started (3 runs). Kudos to Bruce Zimmermann on 3 hitless innings before conceding an earned run in the 9th.

    Made grounded out and Dinges popped out to end it, so Carolina has dropped 4 straight, 3 of them by 1 run. :(

    The OF Daz Cameron promotion watch is in full swing, as he exited with the Sounds leading 8-4 in the 7th inning. Gotta figure that’s in reaction to Garrett Mitchell exiting the Brewer game with oblique discomfort.

    The Mudcats are staring down the barrel of a potential 4th straight defeat, but Yannic Walther just legged out an infield hit with 1 out in the final scheduled inning, trailing 3-2. That brings Jesus Made up.

    Biloxi conceded 3 runs in the top of the 8th inning (off Tyler Bryant) to trail Montgomery 6-3. But they responded with a 5-spot(!) via some opposition mistakes (error, catcher interference, passed ball) and then 3 two-out hits (Miller + Ramon Rodriguez singles; Ethan Murray 2-run triple). RHP Justin Yeager closed out the 8-6 win from there. Starting RHP Abdiel Mendoza had conceded 8 hits and 2 walks, but only 2 runs in a 5-inning outing. Wilken and Miller homered in the initial 3 Shuckers’ runs.

    Sam Garcia went 82 pitches in his first Minor League start, including a walk to start the bottom of the 5th inning with the game tied 2-2. Unfortunately, a single and double steal brought that baserunner across. The Mudcats had 2-on, 2-out with Adamczewski up last inning, so of course he walked and the next batter (Bitonti) flew out. Marco Dinges gave us the 2 runs on a no doubter in the 3rd inning.

    Nail biter 1-0 road win for the Timber Rattlers behind Bishop Letson (5.1 IP, 4 H, 0 BB, 4 Ks; 70 pitches), winning despite no extra base hits or RBIs. SS Eduardo Garcia also exited at the 5 1/3 inning mark after Vargas caught a ball in left field. Areinamo and Wood had the team’s 4 singles, while Root, Sanchez and Rund shut the door.

    22-year old LHP Sam Garcia makes his first start (4th appearance), as the Mudcats need to win to split today’s doubleheader. Luis Pena left the first game with late discomfort (leg), but INF/OF Demetrio Nadal returns after missing 9 days. Yannic Walther makes a surprise outfield appearance.

    20-year old RHP Bishop Letson (2.45 ERA, 13 Ks in 11 IP) is on the bump for High-A Wisconsin at Cedar Rapids tonight, with the Timber Rattlers aiming to knot the series 2-2. 2B Jadher Areinamo’s 20 hits and 7 doubles have him near the top of the Midwest League leaderboard.

    Linebacker/DH/C Jorge Alfaro is up to 6 HRs and 7 SBs on the young season for the AAA Sounds. They trail their home series against Durham 2-1 and have RHP Deivi Garcia (2.70 ERA, 11 Ks in 13:1 IP) starting tonight.

    The AA Shuckers can take 3-1 home series lead over Montgomery with a 3rd straight victory tonight behind RHP Abdiel Mendoza. RF Garrett Spain has been a major spark plug since joining the roster (1.006 OPS in 39 PAs).

    Game 1 of Low-A Carolina’s doubleheader sees 6’4” RHP Travis Smith (3.12 ERA, 6 Ks in 8.2 IP) make his 4th start, with the team trailing 0-2 in this week’s series at pesky Columbia. DH/INF Luis Pena’s hitting streak is 12 games and 2B Josh Adamczewski has 8 multi-hit games in 16 played.
