Talisman OF Carlos D. Rodriguez - "el pelotero más importante del equipo" - returns to Navegantes after dealing with a visa issue. He last played on October 20th. Story (translated to English) here -
I'm pleased to say I voted for Ramon Rodriguez, but regret somehow omitting Yophery. The only thing I don't know is whether Yophery should have bumped out CD Rodriguez or Tyler Black.

Winter Baseball (where the temperatures are in the 60s and above) comprises four main leagues that we can follow: Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional (LVBP – Venezuela) – a top league which commenced on October 11 Liga de Beisbol Profesional de la Republica Dominicana (LIDOM – Dominican Republic) – another top league which started on October 16 Liga de Beisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente (LIGAPR – Puerto Rico) – scheduled to begin on November 7 Liga Arco Mexicana del Pacifico (LMP – Mexico) – commenced on October 11 For many years, the Brewers would have 10-15 participants in these leagues, which have a regular season, round robin phase for top teams, then knock-out rounds which typically run into early January. INF Andruw Monasterio had a solid campaign two years ago, then OF Carlos D. Rodriguez last year, although very few Brewers participated last year. There are also leagues in Nicaragua, Columbia and other locations, where box scores and statistics can be more difficult to find. -
It’s an interesting consideration, but I don’t see it happening unless Quero leap-frogs to merit regular MLB playing time. I think we’re set with 3 catchers on the 40-man MLB roster, but will sign 2 experienced catchers to minor league contracts (similar to the Navarreto, Nola and Mejia signings last year).

AZ Fall League - Rosters, Schedule, Streaming, etc.
Ro Mueller replied to nate82's topic in Brewers Minor League Talk
I think our 2025 AA lineup may be overmatched - young (Lara, Pratt, O’Rae, Adams, Areinamo) or struggling (Wilken, EBJ, Miller, Warren, Murray, Martin, A. Hall, E. Garcia, Wood). But the High-A roster looks very promising: Burke, Yophery, Baez, Guilarte, Hedbert, Y. Garcia, T. Hall, D. Garcia (if re-signed), Vargas, Castillo, Nicasia, Briceno, Fernandez, Diaz. Of course this assumes Boeve goes to AAA. -
Thanks for this. Along with the Suarez ($15m club option) and Kiner-Falefa (not a fan) trade possibilities, might it also be realistic to target any of Alec Bohm (2 arb years), Ryan McMahon (due $44m over 3 years), Jon Berti (1 arb year) or Willi Castro (1 arb year)?

2024 Minor League Transaction Thread
Ro Mueller replied to Jim Goulart's topic in Brewers Minor League Talk
To me, the cuts feel deeper than usual. I'm guessing we expect to sign a high number of experienced minor leaguers from the relatively wide pool available. I only count 159 stateside minor leaguers at the moment, before we presumably lose perhaps 13 of 18 remaining MILB free agents and make about 4 pre-Rule 5 selections (dropping us to about 142 vs. an offseason cap of 175). We can sign 18 more MILB free agents, promote 20 DSL players (vs. about 17 last year), place 12 players on long-term injured lists, release 3 players and still be in line with the 165-player cap next year. -

22-year old RHP Brailin Rodriguez signed as an international free agent from the Dominican Republic in September 2018. His 2019 season in the DSL was noteworthy for 11 starts (5.72 ERA in 50.1 IP), before a respectable 2021 campaign in the Arizona Complex League (4.60 ERA with 35 Ks in 31.1 IP) saw him also throw 10.2 innings as the 3rd youngest pitcher in the Low-A Carolina League. Unfortunately, the 2022 season was lost due to injury and 2023 was miserable (8.16 ERA in 28.2 IP), before putting in solid work at Carolina in 2024: 3.23 ERA, 1.27 WHIP with 47 Ks in 47 IP. He also got a taste of High-A ball with 4 games at Wisconsin. Best of luck to Brailin in his next life adventure. 22-year old RHP Jeison Pena also signed from the Dominican Republic – in September 2020 in his case. Pena skipped the DSL, debuting in the Arizona Complex League in July 2021: 5.14 ERA with 35 Ks in 28 IP. A terrific strikeout rate saw him promoted to Low-A Carolina by July 2022, with Jeison also throwing 3 games at High-A Wisconsin: 3.30 ERA with 64 Ks in 46.1 IP across 3 levels that year, principally in relief. Unfortunately, the 2023 and 2024 campaigns were a struggle: combined 6.55 ERA with 86 Ks and 67 BB in 89.1 IP at Carolina. Good luck to Jeison wherever his path takes him. -

2024 Minor League Transaction Thread

Real tough. Austin's age and K/BB rate perhaps worked against him. I'm still surprised by 6 of the releases. I think Meeker will work his way to a few seasons in the Show. -
2024 Minor League Transaction Thread

25-year old OF/INF Noah Campbell signed with the Brewers out of the University of South Carolina in July 2020 as a non-drafted player (after we’d selected him in the 2017 draft but he didn’t sign). Campbell impressed with his bat and versatility at Low-A Carolina in 2021 (.775 OPS in 412 PAs; played all 9 positions in one game), leapfrogged to AA Biloxi in 2022 and produced solid numbers there (.792 OPS in 630 PAs over parts of 3 seasons) and struggled a bit in his initial AAA exposure (.623 OPS in 228 PAs). He had 18 HRs and 35 SBs over 4 seasons, as left field steadily became his primary position. If he seeks it, Noah should hopefully be able land another AAA job and prove his hitting chops at that level. 29-year old RHP James Meeker graduated from the University of Delaware in 2018, but didn’t sign with an MLB club until August 2021 after 3 seasons of independent ball, at one point compiling an amazing 57.1 inning scoreless streak (including his first 15.2 IP with Low-A Carolina). The 6’4” Meeker dominated at High-A Wisconsin (2.45 ERA) and at Brisbane Australia (21 scoreless innings) in 2022 before impressing at AA Biloxi in 2023 (2.33 ERA as a reliever; struggled in 8 starts). 2024 was yet another respectable year (apart from 3 blow-up outings adjusting to AAA ball), with highlights including an MLB call-up (one scoreless inning) and ending the season with an 0.86 ERA over his last 21 innings. Good luck James! 25-year old LHP Adam Seminaris joined the Brewers in November 2022 via the Hunter Renfroe trade. Injuries limited him to only 53.2 AA innings in 2023 (5.70 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, 9.6 K/9) before getting some Arizona Fall League experience (5.87 ERA in 15.1 IP). The 2024 season saw Adam shift to principally bullpen work, which appeared to go quite well: 2.95 ERA with 45 Ks in 42.2 relief innings, but the spot starts and late season starts went poorly (9.84 ERA in 32 starting IP). Originally a 5th round pick of the Angels in 2020, we wish Adam success wherever his path takes him. 25-year old 3B/1B Ben Metzinger was a 7th round pick of the Brewers out of the University of Louisville in 2022. Quickly sent to High-A Wisconsin, he posted a .653 OPS in 492 PAs at that level over parts of 3 seasons, with 8 home runs and 2 stolen bases. Metzinger was essentially an organizational rover and bullpen catcher in 2024, garnering just 22 PAs (5 walks, no hits). Good luck to Ben in his next career step. 24-year old RHP Tyler Wehrle signed in July 2022 as a non-drafted player out of Tiffin University (Ohio). Wehrle carved out a multi-inning relief role at Low-A Carolina (2023) and High-A Wisconsin (2024), producing career numbers of 4.13 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, 8.0 K/9 in 143.2 IP. Wehrle ended his 2024 season with a 5-inning shutout start at Cedar Rapids in early September. Best of luck to you in the future, Tyler! 22-year old RHP Harrison Durow signed in July 2023 as a non-drafted player out of Trinity University (Texas). Durow produced respectable results in relief work at Low-A Carolina in 2024: 4.97 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 9.0 K/9 in 58 IP with 6 saves. He even got a late season promotion to High-A Wisconsin (1 game – 2 scoreless innings with 3 Ks). Good luck Harrison! 24-year old RHP Morris Austin was a 10th round pick of the Brewers out of Houston Christian University in 2023. Austin proved to be a relatively reliable multi-inning bullpen arm for Low-A Carolina in 2024: 4.26 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, 10.2 K/9. He also pitched one game in the playoffs (on the wrong side of 4 consecutive errors in a frustrating loss). We wish the best to Morris in his next career endeavor. -

Lara collected 2 singles, an RBI and a stolen base his next 2 times up. The RBI extended the lead to 5-3 in the 7th inning. 2-for-4 thus far. Baez flied out twice (one a first pitch swing with runners on the corners and 1 out) and K’d over his next 3 ABs. 1-for-4 thus far. LHP Mark Manfredi has entered for the bottom of the 9th. -
