  1. Problem with Harder is that the TV announcers stated hader would pitch the last two innings which I don't agree with. Others on the squad have been closing. That's why Counsell needs to have pitchers in the bullpen warming up or at least playing catch and throw. Do or die folks.
  2. Agreed. I have no patience for inconsistency and that's Hader. Two pitches folks. That's not good. Most of the time his slider is a fastball anyway, just out of control. Knebel can't heal fast enough. This wait and see approach with bullpen pitchers is frustrating. Why not have someone at least throwing the ball there. Something. Seems like there's some gentlemen's agreement not impeding with the pitcher on the mound. What managers out there hook their pitchers quickly I am wondering.
  3. Live or die, Hader was the guy and I felt that Counsell should've hooked him after the Zimmerman bloop but he didn't have Lyles warming up at that time. Do or done, Counsell needs to have the bullpen active I would.
  4. I would say unreliable not unlucky. He looked like he was on drugs last night. Counsell doesn't manage pitching well. He doesn't hook them early enough when they're is trouble. Hence no more games this year. Feel bad for all of you. I watch American League play more grew up with the A's but did back the AL Brewers still not all in on the league change.
  5. Always easy to comment on a bad move after the fact but I thought pulling Woodruff after the Fourth was too early. The Brewers lived and died with Josh Hader this season. He probably gave up more late inning games than anyone else and when I saw that he was coming in I told my fiance that it was a bad move. Who else could've came in? Counsell went to the bench too early. The Brewers would've lost to the Dodgers with their gameplay. Pretty exciting September folks see what happens in 2020.
  6. 24 runners left on base. 15 lob from the top three in the lineup alone. That's gotta stop. I hope the Brewers do well last two weeks but that number has to go down.
  7. CBA makes managing hard. Contacted to play or use options like they did with ten of their players. This ain't no playoff team Cain needs to cane the season.
  8. I've been saying 88 to make the playoffs personally, quite a few teams on an 84-86 win pace...I feel like the odds of at least one of those teams hitting a hot streak is pretty good. I think 88 would be comfortably making it, if I knew right now we'd end the season with 86 wins...I would put our playoffs odds around 50/50. I see your point though, below 86 wins we basically have almost no chance...so that's probably the minimum number of wins we should be shooting for. I would say they need to win 86. Easy for us to walk away if they don't. We as fans hope that they win 86. Something isn't right with Davies. He isn't painting the corners well. It's the old ' can you pitch?' cliche, can't say no you know.
  9. Agreed. Plus pitchers are boring when up to bat. No excitement. Have a 30 player active roster and give ML managers the DH rule with unlimited DH player option meaning have a offensive roster and a defensive roster. Defensive roster players can hit later in game and visa versa.
  10. Corbin Burnes. Okay then. Not too optimistic.
  11. Counsell says resting Suter is what they do. They sure rested Wilkerson from the overnight flight and back to San Antonio charade. If you buy that I have choice swampland up in the Northwoods for cheap.
  12. I see this often. What frontline starter was available that Stearns refused to go after? Any starter type hopeful like Yelich was a shock. But Stearns spun for Yelich so no more spins for a while folks.
  13. This brewers team has a much better core of high quality players to build around than 2015-16. Grisham Hiura Woodruff Houser is a strong group to build around. Sign Grisham and Hiura to 8 year deals. That gives us a full 6 years with them before traded with 2 years control left, to get another re-tool going. Plan A.) Trade Cain Yelich Hader Davies Anderson Shaw Thames jeffress Guerra this offseason, if that’s too many players to trade, keep Anderson and Shaw and Thames And jeffress And Guerra Trade them at the deadline, that’s at least 7-8 top 100 players added to 1 or 2 already in the system, and while there is a dearth of position prospects, there is an abundance of pitching prospects that should be ML ready over the next 2 years. Put Burnes Peralta in the rotation with Houser and let them develop. Of the 7-8 top 100 prospects, 2 or 3 should be talented ML ready, and inserted to the lineup joining Hiura and Grisham and Braun. Including Braun the payroll should be less than 40 million. The following offseason trade Knebel, and with a still top 5 farm and young core up to 6-7 talented, add more of the ML ready prospects to the core, and or start trading for talented veterans. We should be highly competitive in 2021, with an Ace in Woodruff, and solid rotation with Houser and possibly Burnes or Peralta among others. Bullpen with Rasmussen Williams Wahl Black among many others. And with the accumulation of 8-10 top 100 prospects some of which will be stars joining Hiura Grisham. No Braun and a 2021 payroll under 40 million again. 2022 start the big time spending to win the series. Plan B.) Keep Yelich, Trade Cain and Hader And Shaw pay down Cain’s contract for a quality prospect to go with the 3 top 100 prospects from the Hader Trade. Use the money saved from the Cain contract to improve elsewhere. Payroll, without Cain’s contract would be ~ 90 million, leaving ~ 50-60 million to upgrade SS 3B CF pitching staff. ~ 19 million extra revenue for 2020, 9 million to every club(Fox National)and ~ 10 million(local Fox). Of the prospects received 1 ML ready > insert into the lineup. Bullpen, especially the 2nd half should be quite strong without Hader. Knebel after the all star break, Wahl, Williams Jeffress Black possibly Rasmussen and possible trade acquisitions among others. Woodruff Houser veteran trade acquisition Anderson Davies should make for a solid rotation. Upgrade at SS 3B Will help the offense, Freitas should hit 275-300. Improvement from Grisham and Hiura will also help the offense. This should be a contender, then at the deadline go for it big time. Not sure yet which way I’d go, back and forth on this one. You gut the team and HOPE that some of the prospects pan out and at least help the team. You want Burnes and Peralta in the starting rotation even though neither has shown even a semblance of being anything close to a starter in the big leagues. If you trade for talented vets you have to use some of the top prospects you aquired. The veterans will also have higher salaries. You have gained little and if few of the prospects pan out, you've guaranteed a long string of losing seasons. Drinking Brewer Kool aid. Yelich jumps out at you for being great but he would've been picked up by a contender if they knew he was MVP material and that's all folks. Great players don't come to Milwaukee sorry.
  14. It has really seemed like the opposite to me, any time they start to build any sort of momentum they quickly lose a couple games and end up right back at square one. They're only in the race by default because the NL has been a big bowl of mediocrity outside of the Dodgers and Braves. But I obviously hope you're right. I sure hope when doomsday comes I have you two to think positive.
  15. Interesting and probably not a good idea. Good for him to tough it out but there's got to be a better way. I will be in my grave when the Brewers win a WS.

  17. I don't think Counsell gave either one a chance last night he should've yanked both when both were in trouble. Didn't do those two any favors. He should've at least went to the mound to go over things. Counsell reminds me of Yost in some ways.
  18. True. But he could've been a emergency starter for a extremely serious problem. Starting pitching.
  19. You say he pitches yard balls but I don't see that on paper. Must be from a Fantasy report.
  20. Right. His last stint was pretty good though. He's a good middle reliever emergency starter. At least he doesn't go yard like the other guys. I liked his going yard a few months ago that was a lift me upper in a bad Burnes start.
  21. IMO this guy has a shorter leash than the other brought ups. I feel that he will be up permanently in September with the add one but how do you guys feel about the short leash thing. Just wondering.
  22. The team is off kilter. Nothing seems to be working. I would keep pressing. The most important wins are in the end. Ask Moose and Cain about getting hot at the right time.
  23. Yes, but it doesn’t help that he has been the only reliable reliever. If you are counted on for every important situation because there’s no one else, you are going to start failing at some point. True. The magic of Hader was he could pop up at any time well rested and blow people up. Now you know when he's coming. Back to back games it all makes him just another closer type but one who basically has one pitch. The Knebel Jeffress Hader pen made him a dangerous cat. Now not so much. I am getting more concerned with Counsels decision making. Not available means not available.
