  1. As I said, team of destiny. You can't watch this and think otherwise.
  2. Makes it even more awesome is TX wins this. Giving those Cardinals fans hope only to dash their hearts even worse in the end. It couldn't have happened to a classier organization or more likeable manager.
  3. Buck was raised in STL. I know we should all pretend he wasn't a Cardinals fan growing up but for Pete's sake his dad worked for the organization and he called their games for 16 years. Hard to imagine any of us not having a twinge of happiness in our voice calling a Brewers game on national TV.
  4. Cardinals are the team of destiny this year.
  5. Well Pujols is 31 so I'm not sure how he removed himself from the Pujols discussion by that statement. I can see the argument that he removed himself from Pujols discussion by saying he targets players in their prime at the age range listed above. Meaning to me, the end of their "prime" comes at 32. Thus, why would you sign a player to the tail end of his best years? He also said he was going to pay guys for their future performance and not past accomplishments.
  6. I'm sort of coming to terms with the distinct possibility and reality of Prince soon becoming a Chicago Cub. I think getting Epstein solidified my mindset of them being his #1 suitor. They will want to make a splash and do it also at the expense of weakening a divisional foe at the same time. They will undoubtedly make a bold signing to try and rekindle fan support in Chicago and why not start with an all-star player at a position of need for the team? We all know based on Red Sox 1B of his tenure, Epstein only sets his sights on the BEST available player. I see them giving him a 7 year deal. Here's my thought: I am against the sentiment that the back end of any deal he signs will not look good. I think for the Cubs, the first 3 years will not look good. Sure, Prince will produce...but his team will stink or be mediocre at best. When he's in the middle of the deal, the team should start being more competitive and his value will be more evident to the organization playing meaningful games. I know it is meat-headish (word?) but I cannot wish Prince well or root for him as a member of one of the top two teams I dislike (Cubs/Cards). Also, it irritates me that he is all about the money. He's made no qualms about his desire to test the market and break the bank in FA. His right? Yes. But it doesn't mean we have to like it. Look at Braun: he signed two club-friendly deals to ensure his long-term financial security. My biggest hope is that Prince continues to be a productive player, stays healthy, and performs well........for a losing organization. I would love to see him watch a Brewers team from afar that is still successful and winning even without him. I'd love to have him watch his friends that he grew up with in the organization enjoy much success and have him wish he was still a Milwaukee Brewer. I hope he never wins a World Series and the Brewers win one soon so he feels slighted of the opportunity to share in the moment with his boys. That's just me...
  7. How can Prince be smiling now in the dugout? Im losing a lot of respect.
  8. Or blast open champagne bottles all over our visiting clubhouse's walls!
  9. Could care less about a Prince send-off...he's just chasing the coin...but on a positive note, what a heck of a season from John Axford.
  10. Well they're 6-0...they've been dominating for the whole season. Youll enjoy them a lot more than this team.
  11. You sure sound like a Cards fan lately. We get it, you have posted this about 15 times today. Did I mention yet that they're the better team?
  12. The Brewers, for lack of a better term, were out-classed in this series. Pitching, hitting, defense, bullpen, managing...we didn't deserve to win this series, plain and simple. At the very least, we won't have people spewing nonsense like "oh we should've won that series" because it's just not true.
  13. And it pretty much looked like every other at bat he's had all year...good riddence, thanks for playing on your hometown team.
  14. After watching this series, Pujols should win MVP every single season.
  15. Seriously, stop. Look at his numbers during the season. He's an above-average pitcher. Criticize him for sucking lately, but don't act as though he's always been bad. When you can pick apart with statistics an accurate rebuttal to my post, I'll be very intrigued because if you check out his career #s vs the above teams, you'll find my post a little more undebatable.
  16. I bet Toronto fans are laughing at Marcum's playoff performance. Face NYY, BOS, TB (good teams) and now STL and the real Shaun Marcum gets exposed.
  17. Pitching folded and crumbled under pressure when the games really counted. Remember Doug Melvin bragging that his complete 1-5 starting pitchers are returning next season? Yeah...that should be fun.
  18. If Im STL and I win, I line up along the Brewers dugout side after the game and have every player on my team do Beast Mode to the fans and crowd. A helluva way to go out!
  19. Why don't they just allow the men on 2nd and 3rd to walk home now? We all know it's inevitable they score and it's 12-5.
  20. Anyone here think the Brewers deserve to play in the World Series?
  21. Great managerial move. Why not trust your pen that has been lights-out all series and at the same time give yourself an opportunity with a base hit single to put this game to 9-4.
  22. Yeah, he sure would've been nice to obtain at the deadline, huh?
