  1. "but they seem to be okay and staying in the game." Nope. All Star phenom Chris Magruder replaces Clark in CF. If this is long term, we're screwed. No way Chris Magruder should even be in the bigs, let alone start everyday in CF.
  2. It could be worse....we could be Cubs fans (who ARE actually dealing with a 7-game losing streak).
  3. " So is a Weeks a huge improvement over Spivey or are we just taking the lumps of a young player?" I don't know....I'm just hoping he learns how to handle off-speed pitches and hit a curve ball. Then we can start talking about the potential he has long-term.
  4. Good ol' Sheets in the first inning. He is horrible early on in games...why??
  5. " Looks like Branyan dominates that category as well. Just can't keep the man down. He's almost a joke to these people, yet when healthy he has been one of the best 3B'men in the league this season." He better not be our full-time 3B next season.....that's a position we MUST upgrade via trade, because free agent 3B's out there are not very good (Randa-type). We're not a playoff team with a Branyan-Hall-Cirillo-Helms platoon. That's just the way it is.
  6. You spoke too soon. Santana is Santana once again. A zebra can't change his stripes....
  7. Julio Santana shouldn't even be in AAA....he should be pumping someone's gas somewhere in Latin America. He's the type of player that gets coaches fired. He's on the roster and so they feel compelled to throw him out there no matter how many games he blows. They're almost asking to lose when they throw this guy out there. I can't stand watching him pitch...thank God this game is not televised.
  8. Yes, and if Moeller came through with a base hit right there (as hard as it would be to picture...) and Jenks scored, then everyone in here would be saying how great of a move Ned made. Sometimes things go your way and other times, they don't.
  9. It's time like these that I wish for the likes of Jesse Levis and Raul Casanova.....ahhh Moeller!!
  10. Good job by Helmsie. Give credit where it's due. We manufactured a run there the right way.
  11. " Could this team be any more un-clutch today??" I dunno...good question. The game is not over, so I'm sure they'll have another couple opportunities to be just as "un-clutch" as the 7th inning. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  12. Huh, on gameday it shows Billy Hall's out to centerfield as being at or over the wall....did Beltran make a HR-saving play??
  13. Great job by Mr. Eveland to clean up the mess that Lehr got the team into. I'll say one thing about this youngster...he battles, has fire up his behind, and is a true gamer. He's a Yost type of guy....and he's not afraid to throw strikes. He's going to be a good one. P.S. Why do we not hear anything about Hendrickson anymore? I know he's not killin' em at AAA, but has everyone given up on him? Last year he didn't show me anything, but I thought the organization would give him a long leash and be very tolerant of him as he progresses.
  14. Piazza must LOVE Brewers pitchers...it reminds me of how Lyle Overbay loves the Reds staff. It's like the ball is being lobbed in there for him for smash somewhere. Who thinks the Brew Crew has yet ANOTHER comeback left in them?
  15. Lehr had a high ERA at Nashville too....what makes you think it would be anything different in the bigs where the hitters are just a tad better? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  16. "I used to live and die with the team, riding the highs and getting violently angry on the lows... but it's much easier to ride high on the highs, and just see the lows for what they are." Way to put it into perspective for me there...that's true. It's easier said than done, but it's true. I'm feeling a good omen by the way as I saw your total post number reached 1982....a great year.
  17. YutakaEnatsu.... Thank you for your astute insights....are you one of those people who only allow 'homers' into your house where they say nothing but good things about the home team regardless of how careless or ineffectively they are playing? I try to "keep it real." When the team is going good I'm the first person there to cheer them on, but when they're bad, I'm not going to live in a fantasy land and say "oh, it's okay..." I think people like you who do not like to hear the negatives are like adding fuel to the fire for accepting and tolerating mediocrity. By never holding the team to high standards like I do, all you do is make losing okay. Sorry, It's not okay in my book.
  18. Does anyone else feel a little uneasy when Lehr is pitching. It's the same feeling I got last year when they brought Jeff Bennett into the game. The guy seems very hittable to me. Why wasn't Adams or Capellan brought up instead?
  19. Ok....we're all knotted up at 6-6....no hard feelings....we're all feeling good now in here.....come on Brady!!!
  20. No need to attack me. Sorry, I didn't think I was "attacking" someone....I was defending myself. People who have opposing views to you are allowed to post on this site.....last time I checked, it was a free country.
  21. Ok Wiggum....."I speak for every.....no, I speak for me. Please just go away. Fans with your attitude suck." Ned Yost is the greatest manager in MLB. Doug Davis was stellar today and is a great #2 pitcher. ....with EXCELLENT control The Brewers are a clutch team and Rick Helling is a baseball god. Do you want me to keep going on with the thoughts that are in your head or should I just stop now while I'm ahead???
  22. Thanks Rick for coming in and giving up 2 more (and counting, I'm sure....).....this is why the Brewers won't get to the .500 mark this year. I'm calling it now. Mark my words....this team is not clutch....someone on the team seems to find a way to blow it. One player can't carry a team to victory but if you've been watching the Brewers lately, you'll see that one player can make the team LOSE. GAME OVER!
  23. Ok...I was wrong...Doug GIVES them a run. What do you mean pull him...he's ONLY walked 7 batters so far in 3.2 innings....keep him in there Nedly. Great managing + solid control pitching = Yost and Davis sending the Brewers to 3 games under .500 again.
  24. I called the Piazza HR....my instincts are telling me Doug finally throws a strike......however it will be right up the middle and Wright will get right and hit a salami. Hope I'm wrong this time.
  25. When Davis is off, HE's OFF. I'm sure it looks like he's allergic to throwing a strike. Get someone in there who will throw strikes. We haven't seen Wise in awhile....let him suck up 3-4 innings.
