  1. (I was particularly bothered by the exagerrated, out-of-place mug shot of Roy and his "I'll win her back" ... that was embarassingly poor) The mugshot was funny, man, come on I thought the "I'll win her back" was bad, though
  2. Yeah, it started slow but those last 10 minutes were fantastic
  3. I liked AD, but I prefer The Office just because of the realistic character-based humor...a lot of AD seemed like a real-life Simpsons to me.
  4. I to hope that the Jim and Pam thing doesn't drag on to long and that it has some kind of ending where she just marries Roy and it kind of ends the storyline. Don't count on it. Even in the post-series epilogue special for the BBC series, the plotline was still in use even after Dawn stayed with Lee (Roy) and moved to Florida. Whether a baseball messageboard full of dudes likes it or not, the romance angle is central to the show and is a reason a lot of the audience enjoys the show and isn't going away any time soon.
  5. Well, actually, I am excited to see how the romance between Jim and Pam proceeds. It's been handled very well thus far (and free of sappy music) and I have no reason to think that would change on the show just because of the commercials.
  6. You do know the romance (or lack therof) between Tim (Jim) and Dawn (Pam) was central to the BBC version, too, right? I have absolutely no problem with NBC playing up this angle in their commercials for whatever demographic.
  7. It always seems like the Crew gets a big run off Coffey...let's hope the Giants can, too Edit: And in comes Schoenweis...
  8. Alright, Graffy, let's break this open...again
  9. Yes, that was huge, getting the meat of their order out with bases loaded like that
  10. Ugly, unexpectedly nerve-wracking win, but I'll take it CREW WINS CREW WINS
  11. "Nice Lay By Your Dish"? What am I missing here
  12. When the play-by-play announcer starts bragging up the Cubs players too much I just switch over and watch WGN. Heh, no doubt. Brenly and Kaspar have been pretty fair and objective Nice outing by Bush, good to see the bats alive, let's get it tomorrow
  13. Yeah, that was on Bell, I think...I don't mind them sending him.
  14. Blah We need to shove this down their throats
  15. Huh, Jenks is now 6-11 with the bases loaded I guess that's his niche at this point that the Crew needs to keep him to Edit: I posted this in last night's thread first...I suppose it says a lot that tonight's game is 2 freaking pages long
  16. Sounds like "Wrigley Field North" there again.
  17. To be fair to Cordero, I was "watching" the game via GameDay and didn't get to see that the triple was mostly a fielding error...that obviously changes things.
  18. Miller was on first and runs were scarce
  19. IMO, that was the most satisfying victory of the season. I don't know about that, but it does feel pretty darned good to be realizing the Crew indeed DID NOT lose that game.
  20. Matt Wise impressed me much more than Cordero tonight Are you serious? I mean he got 2 outs relatively quick, but come on Yeah, I was, kind of. I mean, striking out the side is always cool and impressive to watch, but the jam Cordero got out of was his own doing. It was a great job to get the save after what looked like sure disaster, but let's not let Coco's "new car smell" fool us into thinking it was masterful or ideal for your closer. A triple and two walks. If this had been Turnbow pitching that way (and it often was), people would be running him up the flagpole or shaking their heads right now. Bottom line, the save is what counts so I'm glad that Cordero got back in the saddle at the end. Anyway, I've mostly been happy about seeing our set-up guys like Wise start to get it back together a bit.
