  1. I just registered here but have lurked for some time. I have to say that from my observations you are a prime example of someone who spends a lot of time telling other people what they should think or how they should react to that the team is doing. As to the purpose of the thread: I'm totally fine signing a starting pitcher coming off a 2.7 bWAR season. I hope the money is modest, but Brett Anderson could be a very good pitcher for the Brewers in 2020.
  2. I've never heard of this guy but I think this is a good deal.
  3. The Brewer way would be to Sign Him, Fix Him, and have another team sign him for 4/$36m next year.
  4. While the Brewers did not pick up his option for $7.5 million, it's still possible Eric Thames could come back. I'd be fine with that assuming no significant upgrade is out there to be had.
  5. If he's anything like 36 year old Verlander...why not? You realize that literally one pitcher has ever had a season like that at age 36. Also, how many arm injuries has Verlander had in his career? How many Strasburg? SS has thrown over 200 innings twice in his career. JV had a 7.8 bWAR in his age 36 season. Randy Johnson had a 8.1 bWAR in his age 36 season. And he also had a 10.1 bWAR at 37, 10.7 bWAR at 38, and 8.4 bWAR at 40. But your overall point is well taken. I would not gamble on another pitcher duplicating Justin Verlander's performance.
