  1. My thoughts? I need to follow a different team because the Brewers are not interested in being a serious World Series contender. I'm sick and damn tired of this. And don't give me, "the team has made the playoffs three years in a row." 2020 was a joke of a year and the Brewers were in the playoffs due to a cash grab expanded playoffs. And now the team is moving backwards.
  2. This hire reminds me of when the Red Sox hired Bobby Valentine in 2012. Every sensible Red Sox fan knew the hire was terrible. Valentine, predictably, alienated everyone in the clubhouse and media. He was fired after the season and then John Farrell lead the Sox to a WS championship in 2013. So to me, the question is who will manage the White Sox in 2022. Because I'm pretty certain it won't be LaRussa.
  3. I don't get why this surprises people, or bothers them. Cora is by nearly all accounts an excellent manager. He served his suspension and is eligible to manage again. Are people surprised when a player comes off suspension and resumes his career?
  4. Ryan Braun isn't good enough to make the Dodgers' roster. I don't think Andrew Friedman would sign him for even veteran's minimum.
  5. Marwin Gonzalez is only a good hitter when he knows what pitch is coming. Hard pass on this one.
  6. I have no interest in paying Braun millions of dollars to DH in his age 37 season when he's coming off a season with an OPS+ of 101, wRC+ of 99, and oWAR of 0.0 (B-Ref). Plus, he's hurt all the time. It's time to move on.
  7. That would appear to be the case. A promising pitching career destroyed by a pick off play while running the bases. Truly sad.
  8. Jimmy Nelson's season is over. And possibly his career. Back surgery. https://www.latimes.com/sports/story/2020-07-06/dodgers-pitcher-jimmy-nelson-set-to-undergo-lumbar-surgery
  9. That's an uninspiring bullpen. Unless they get some really great performances out of this group making the playoffs will be a serious problem.
  10. I like this signing a lot. I predict that by midseason Holt will be the starting 3B, Sogard will be the super sub, and Gyorko will be released.

  12. The only new jersey I don't like is the navy blue road jersey. Unfortunately, if history is a guide that jersey will be worn way to much both at home and on the road. I much prefer white on white at home (or cream on cream as with the 70's uniform) and gray on gray on the road. I'm not a fan of the mix and match look.
