  1. Sparks liner double to LF plates two in the Shuckers 9th! Shutout averted. Woot woot. 8-2 deficit. Get the rally caps on boys!
  2. Rodriguez lined out hard to LF. Lara golfed one to deep RF for an Eduarqui tag to 3B. Pratt smoked an out to RF. Decent contact from all 3. And, in 'it's baseball' Eduarqui got the double and hit that ball with less exit velo than every out. LOL.
  3. Figueroa gets another swinging K on a nasty slider with quite a bit of dip to boot. What an escape. On to the 11th.
  4. OMG Figueroa gets the swinging K on a slider in the dirt - took a lil bounce into the dirt up the line. Rodriguez gathers it and quickly pops and snags the runner who tried to swipe 3B. WHewwww baby! Two down just like that . Amazing.
  5. Hall was down 0-2. He's worked it full laying of some really close pitches. Really good eye here. He pops a slider out to 3B foul territory.
  6. Perez with an effective ground out to 2B advanced Areinamo to 3B. Looks like they are pitching around Valerio for a possible DP ball. 3-1 inside slider touches the zone. 3-1 count. They give him an outside slider - that wasn't in the zone. Sigh. 3-2 count. Valerio swings and misses on a heater outside the zone. That ump blew that second strike call. That slider was not in the zone. Two down now for Tayden Hall to face another lefty.
  7. Bryant goes 3-up and 3-down and we are headed to Xtras in Great Lakes. Sharp ground out to 3B - clean play by Garcia. Fly out to LF. Fly out to CF. On to the 10th.
  8. I should add after he walked the batter - with only one down - the batter took 2B via steal and Rodriguez short-hopped an errant throw into the shallow CF grass. One down man on third? No problem. Let me strike these young men out.
  9. RHP Tyler Bryant looks like a guy who could tutor you while you struggle through your math homework and then beat you up out back. My goodness he is fast becoming my new favorite Indy signing. Another master class in his first inning of work. 1.0 IP, 1 BB, 3 K. All he does is strike people out. Still hasn't allowed a single run as a Timber Rattler.
  10. Hall's last poke was a 40 mph dribbler miscue miscommunication between the pitcher and the 1B. He did hit a double to RF. I wouldn't say he's 'settled in'. We still aren't seeing enough loft or gap power in High-A. Lots of work to do. To me, he very much still looks like he did when he first arrived in Low-A. I am consistently left wanting more. AND, don't get me wrong, I like Hall quite a bit - always have. But, this is a sober assessment.
  11. You will not convince me otherwise: INF Eduardo Garcia has become a lazy and lackadaisical defender. His reputation does not speak to this but I have seen it throughout this season and, frankly, it is not a fun development. Sigh. Bottom of the 7th. Two out. Your newly returned reliever has already given up a solo jack. It's a 2-2 game. Routine hard hit grounder hit right to him. He never moves his feet. Has time to move his feet. Lazily reaches for the ball and it caroms into LF. Now Costello has thrown a wild pitch and that runner is at 2B. Costello gets the K but I have seen more fundamentally unsound baseball from Garcia in 2024 than I have seen impact. It's a near nightly occurrence. Anyhow, he was rightfully credited with his second error in two nights.
  12. Wlecome back to the Timber Rattlers pitching staff Mr. Costello. He is greeted with a first batter oppo line drive solo jack. 2-2 game. Sigh. He hung one dead center. Seeing that quite a bit tonight across the system.
  13. Seminaris has just been hanging these off-speed pitches literally dead center all. night long. I have no idea what is going on here but it is capital UGLY.
  14. Watching C's Darrien Miller and Nick Kahle trying to throw runners out on the base paths in any fashion is an exercise in pain management. I know these young men work hard and have great attitudes but the ball does not lie. They do not have the arms to make a real difference. And, of course, you know how I feel about Miller's slow movement horizontally and his slow glove costing his pitchers numerous WP's this season.
  15. It is truly ALL the things. Catchers can't throw runners out. Hitters can't hit a lick. Bullpen suddenly blowing leads when they have them (it's rare over the past two weeks). Just playing losing baseball no matter how you skin this cat. I definitely feel you on this. AND, now we suddenly haven't seen Brock Wilken in either game? Is it a respite from his unreal August slump? We are truly back to that team that was 10 game under.
  16. Indeed. He is fine. He came aboard with the bases loaded. Two down. He did his job. This is intentional. Got the deep fly out to CF. The stated intent for his Triple-A work is short impactful outings.
  17. I know EBJ had changed his batting approach. I still absolutely do not like it. Way too much going on timing wise to make it happen and the results back up my sentiments, frankly. This is where he starts his AB at present. What are we doing here? The thing is this becomes a timing circus. Bat and arms lower. Lead leg lifts. It is all just way too pin point. Do not like. Pitcher is in the wind-up now: And now the ball is en route. So much going on. Do. Not. Like.
  18. 9-4 Muddies in the 6th. This is what we call a 'big inning'. For those at home new to the game.
  19. Going back to watch that one but Walling absolutely crushed that. That error in RF was MASSIVE.
  20. Continuing the numerous anomalies in the MiLB.TV and Gameday universe in 2024, they are reporting RHP Jeferson Figueroa having relieved Cornielle here in the bottom of the 5th. That is absolutely verifiably RHP Bayden Root. LOL.
  21. Castillo makes them pay - two run jack over the RF wall. Smoked it pulling an inside heater. His 2nd in two nights. 17 on the year. That was a 348 foot cooker. 7-4 Mudcats lead and more imporantly Castillo has that coveted 69 RBI mark.
  22. Well Augusta's RF'er gave his own version of charity (De La Cruz) Very catchable ball hit deep to the warning track and he just absolutely biffed the catch. Bitonti scores. Di Turi moved on to 2B. Mudcats lead 5-4. Augusta has committed 4 errors on the evening.
  23. Bitonti gets one to fall! Rips a liner single into RF. Noice! Nice to see him make some decent contact for a line drive in any fashion. Been a bit of a pop up lull. Let's hope that gets him going.
