  1. 8/20 is the final regular season date fwiw.
  2. Not to mention he sat out the last game and was a DH today for only 2 AB. It certainly seems like something might be up there. Really unfortunate timing!
  3. Well, the DSL Cerveceros Uno are certainly going out with a dud in their push for a playoff berth. Swept by the DSL Orioles Orange in their Saturday double header. Now they've ;pst today 3-1 to the 21-29 DSL Rojos? They've lost four straight and are 3.5 GB in the most important 10 day push of their season. Sigh. Not what we expected after transferring several of the best DSL Cerveceros Dos players to their clubhouse. Meanwhile, the DSL Cerveceros Dos scoffed at the loss of their teammates. They've now won two straight and have moved back to 5 games over 0.500 at 26-21.
  4. C Yoneiker Lugo just smacked his first long ball of his summer. A three-run blast. DSL Cerveceros Dos lead 3-2z
  5. Yup and it's another one of those random MiLB games this season where Bally somehow trumps a showing via MiLB.TV. Can't even go back and watch what actually happened there. Second time, off the top of my head, a T-Rats game has been involved with this in 2024. Farts! 😂
  6. With the 'W' tonight, and a 4-2 series victory, the Sounds (22-16) remain alone in 2nd place across the International League. They are 4.0 GB red hot Columbus (26-12) - winners of 9-of-11 - who also took their series 4-2. BIG series upcoming @ ye ol' arch nemesis the Durham Bulls (17-22) who remain 9.5 GB but the standings just rarely matter when these two go head-to-head.
  7. It's amazing how much of a fine line that is. Never ceases to amaze. Accuracy in and around the Zone is everything. Doesn't matter how electric your stuff is if you can't keep it in that 1-3" zone around the entire zone. Ergo, Yerlin Rodriguez's ongoing issues.
  8. Pretty much @markedman5. It's been quite obvious, honestly, since his time as a T-Rats his next real stop was the MLB ball club. His stuff is absolutely that good. Been saying it since early May.
  9. Welcome to the "Maybe we should revisit RHP Mitch White as a starting pitcher?" late-season breakout party. My goodness. 5 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 1 WP, 7 K, 0 R. Heck of a start, in his first such action in 2024. Sounds just grabbed a 2-0 lead on an RBI single off the bat of Freddy Zamora. Bottom of the 5th.
  10. With today's 4-0 shutout victory @ Montgomery, the Shuckers maintained their 2.0 G advantage over second place Pensacola. The Shuckers now hold a 24-14 record in the second half - the second best record between both divisions to Tennessee's 26-13 mark. Because Montgomery won the first half, they've already secured a playoff berth so their standing in the second half standings is relatively meaningless. Sidebar: Extremely rough 0-for-5, 4 K day at the dish for 3B Brock Wilken in what was an extremely disappointing series overall at the plate. 2-for-24, 11 K, 3 BB. Yikes. After picking it up in July, Wilken has come crashing back to Earth and then some: 0.086 BA on the month with a 'Yikes!' 0.286 OPS. That'll impact the bottom line and it has.
  11. Just reached out to my Mudcats connection. It appears young 2B Josh Adamczewski is on a good path with the current ongoing therapy regime for his back. Tentative thinking, as of today, is if all goes according to plan and his body responds the way it has been he could be back in the line-up Wendesday/Thursday of this upcoming week. And, as we know, these things can be finicky. He's young, though, and it certainly sounds as tho his body is responding very favorably to the current treatment regime. Let's keep our fingers crossed. AND, let's hope he can move past this in the near term.
  12. T-Rats are going to try and ride the solo jack of Ramon Rodriguez to a victory. They just grabbed a 1-0 lead. Cruz and Manfredi have each pitched 3 scoreless. Meanwhile, the Muddies have reclaimed the lead 6-4.
  13. 1 1/3 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 1 K, 0 R. 15 pitches. 12 strikes. Gorgeous work. Now, did only manage one swing and miss in 10 swings. Averaged 100.9 mph exit velo on the cutter with a 109 mph off the cutter in there as well. BUT, who cares, that's a huge moment for the young man.
  14. EPIC EPIC EPIC season for Lazar. What an incredible story. So proud of that young man. Man, I was really sad when we lost him to ML FA. BUT, clearly it has worked out in all the right ways for Max who has hit an entirely different level in 2024. SO happy for him. RHP TJ Shook has now gone three consecutive scoreless Saves in his first 3 SVO in 2024 (all in August) - 1.0 IP, 2 H, 0 BB, 2 K, 0 R, 1 SV. Since joining Binghamton he has gone five consecutive scoreless outings. 8 IP, 10 K, 3 BB, 3 H, 0 R. I will continue to not understand that trade whatsoever. Didn't make sense the day of the trade. Doesn't make sense now. It's odd when the Brewers, an organization so adept at identifying and developing pitching talent, let guys like LHP Justin King (literally in King's case) and RHP TJ Shook go. I feel as though they never really understood what they had in either case. Regardless, extremely happy to see both young man crushing it in their next opportunities. King gave up his first run as a Blue Wahoo tonight. However, he's pitched in 8 games since he signed with the Wahoos. 7 2/3 IP, 4 H, 2 BB, 1 HB, 14 K, 1 ER. He's been absolutely fantastic. I don't know what was going on for the talented lefty in Biloxi but he's always had the talent and he has really put together a master class since moving just down the way in Pensacola. Very very happy for him.

  16. I don't know. Payamps has pretty dang dependable since that 3-run hiccup. Off the top of my head maybe 1 ER in like 10-12 outings? That's nothing to scoff at.
  17. Yeah. And, that makes sense. I haven't been all that enthused by what I've seen from Hudson <sad face 1>. I keep waiting for Hall to take that next step. Haven't seen it <sad face 2>. IF they get the Mix right - leading with off-speed and using the 4-seamer as an honesty pitch - I think they can make it work for 4 innings. Unless, of course, we are seeing that coveted movement early in the outing. I mean we can celebrate a 94.5-96 mph heater for Hall like several on the Beat have done but that just doesn't mean much if the life of the pitch is a flatline. Thems are just the facts. I had been more impressed by what I'd seen from JB Bukauskas than what I had seen from Hudson - naturally, he took that come backer and is now out for an unknown period of time. Hopefully, it was just a stinger and minor setback. The most dangerous bullpen options absolutely remain Miz and Yoho. Tho, for obvious reasons, we're not going to see them any time soon.
  18. Boy, I wish I could say I'm confident about the prospects of a DL Hall-to-Ross piggyback. This is simply not the case. Not one bit. I continue to have zero faith in Hall's 4-seamer. In all his Rehab work I am pretty sure we got one outing where the velo, shape, and movement were where we need that pitch to be. Every other outing, it was off-speed that led the way for me. The four-seamer was just too flat and hittable for MLB bats for my liking. I absolutely hope I am wrong.
  19. I mean with Clemmey I kind of get it with the elevated walk totals - I still don't think that should stop him from testing High-A waters. BUT, with Sykora I mean he is absolutely dominancing Low-A hitters. 96 K in 63 1/3 IP is silly. Give him older players to challenge those tools. Low-A isn't going to do much for his growth.
  20. I am just so tired of this version of the Down East Wood Ducks. Fast Forward them to their new stadium. I can not stand for another Playoff Black Out vs the Wood Ducks. Nope.
  21. Seriously, what are those two studs still doing in Low-A. That's just silly. Bump them to High-A for crying out loud.
  22. Oh we have absolutely struggled against those two. Clemmey was traded, however, at the deadline. LOL - right to the Nationals. Bahahahahahahah. That is an absurd embarrassment of Ace riches on a Low-A club. What are we doing here Nationals?!
