  1. Spencer and Joseph Zarr discuss the minor league departures and additions to this point in the offseason, and then break down their tiers for the DSL and ACL rosters from 2025. 2. Huh. I don't know how I feel about this, I suppose it's a fine pickup if that option is triggered immediately, and he is used as depth.
  3. I agree, all three systems are weak. But this is a good reminder that it's not about public perception, it's what the Brewers like in a player. And if there's an organization I trust to pluck good-but-undervalued players from another team, it's the Brewers. Also, welcome to the site!
  4. Hah, I just noticed BF has a Buxton article queued in the next few minutes. Before you all blame me, I had nothing to do with it. Getting out in front of this. 😁
  5. As I mentioned above, it's because Twins ownership is awful and really, really bad at their jobs. They're third generation nepo babies who have put the team in massive debt. It's why the Twins have gone from a $160m payroll three years ago to probably around $100m in 2026.
  6. Over the past two seasons, he has been paid $30m and been worth 9 fWAR. Your valuation of Buxton is bonkers. In the past nine seasons (basically his entire full-time playing career), he has been worth 3+ fWAR in six of them. And one of the three sub-3 fWAR seasons was the 60-game COVID season. Your valuation of Buxton simply is not based in reality. The Twins are considering a trade because their owners are incompetent and failing. They've put the team in massive debt, to the point literally one-third of the team's valuation is under debt from other businesses. There's a reason they're bringing in minority partners; they literally need money. It's pathetic, really. If the owners weren't so bad, there is a zero percent chance a Buxton trade is even a consideration.
  7. Jack and Spencer discuss the latest reports about the Brewers' payroll situation, Freddy Peralta 's future, and potential trade candidates. 9. I believe the maximum number of uniforms allowed is four, so one of the 2025 uniforms is phased out.
  10. I looked into this a bit, and in 2024 when Duran was good, he was better outside Fenway than in it. The two years bookending that when Duran was less good, he's WAY better in Fenway than outside it. Weird, and possibly worth a dive unto itself.
  11. I'm like 98% sure I'm going to buy one of these. I need a Chourio jersey anyway.
  12. I'll preface this by saying I'm a sucker for powder blue uniforms. As a child of the 1980s when it felt like every team had one, it evokes nostalgia for a time when baseball was stupid, played on concrete, and everyone was doing something illegal. To my knowledge, the Brewers have never used "Milwaukee" on a powder blue jersey, making these likely to be road uniforms. The block font is a throwback, but only to jerseys that read "Brewers" in the 1970s and 1980s. Milwaukee was typically written in a script font, not dissimilar to the current dark blue jerseys worn on the road. What are your thoughts on these new jerseys? Yay or nay? View full rumor

  14. No, I said people were prospect hugging because people said Buxton's trade value is salary relief. There's a million miles between Luis Pena and "salary relief". People look at Buxton's injury history, which is legit, but then ignore that he has been something like the 22nd most valuable position player by fWAR over the past two seasons. He's not just good, he's elite. And Luis Pena IS a 20-70 prospect. Maybe more like a "20-50" prospect if you want to split hairs, but prospects shouldn't be put into small buckets. Luis Pena is a highly-regarded player in the low minors who has a ton of upside and a low floor. He also struggled in the second half of 2025. In August, Keith Law put him at #37 on his top 100. I'm high on Pena, I certainly wouldn't trade him for Buxton. But there are legitimate questions about him, especially on defense.
  15. On top of what Spencer said, I think there's little chance of the QO making it through the next CBA. It was *this close* to going away in the last CBA; had the two sides merely come together on terms for an international draft, the QO would already be gone.
  16. You realize we literally had a guy in the press box 90+ times this year, right?
  17. So they can go get IKF, just like you wrote! :D
  18. Speculative, I'm sure, but it sure makes sense. While Anaheim isn't that far from Thousand Oaks (an hour or so), I struggle to see why Yelich would want to be part of the dumpster fire that is the Angels when he gets to make a run at the postseason every single year in Milwaukee.

  21. I understand your point, but I think you're ignoring just how bad Ortiz was with the bat. He was the third-worst qualified hitter in baseball by wRC+. That's not a little bad, that's unplayable. He definitely needs to improve, and by a lot, to be a functional starter in this league.
