    OK, how about Quintez Cephus? He messed up badly with gambling but he wasn't a rapist like he was alleged to be. You would think we wouldn't be so quick to judge and wait for the process to run it's course. I'm not going to pretend I know everything about Bauers case but he's actually countersuing the 4th woman for extortion. The 2nd and 3rd women raise red flags to anyone thinking critically. If what they claim happened, why did they wait years until a lawsuit against Bauer to come out? I would hope and expect any woman to go to the police immediately afterwords if something that awful had happened to them. In regards to how he conducts himself? The main issue from what I've seen is that he's more concerned about being a social influencer and is willing to do anything for a reaction. He's a wannabe Conor McGregor in a sport that lacks athletes that stand out so he believes that any publicity is a good publicity when you're trying to build a following / brand. His entire negative persona is attached to getting clicks which is why I would only sign him if he agreed to stop it while he was with the team. He talks about it all in this interview.

    There is something called due process for a reason. Heaven forbid you or someone close to you is on the wrong end of an accusation. I would hope you would get the chance to defend yourself before the court of opinion renders you guilty. It's harder to defend a lot of the other things that Bauer has done because he admits he's a troll and and enjoys pissing people off. Adding a guy like that to the chemistry in the locker room is a valid concern. However, you're not getting entitled, top of the world Bauer, you're getting a guy who's been humbled, served his time and would be stupid to ruin his last chance. The key would be the social media BS, so I would ask him straight up - "Do you want to be an online influencer or do you want to be a starting pitcher?" If he's willing to give up on being a youtuber then he would probably fit in on every team in the league. I see no problem with a minimum deal full of incentives because you can cut him the first moment something goes wrong in the locker room. If he turns out to be a model citizen then you got a piece that can help you make a playoff push or possibly be moved for a piece to help us out long term. The older I get, the more open I am to second chances. For one, I'm thankful Alcorn State gave Donald Driver a 2nd chance and there's countless others that have worked out just as well.

    Tristan Peters is a hefty price to pay for a guy we could have signed ourself a little over a week ago. I like Rosenthal but can't justify the process in how we added him.

    It's hard to be excited about a guy with 45 grade hit, power, speed and arm. The guy hit .232 this last year but had almost as many walks as strike outs. He hit better as a sophomore so I'm not completely against it. Being a switch hitter is a nice bonus. I'm intrigued by the glove too.

    I doubt we have the money available to take Tucker Toman so I'm focused strictly on the college kids. Give me Jonathan Cannon or Ryan Cermak. Jake Madden would be another interesting JUCO pitcher also.

    I love this pick. Go for the high upside with an uber projectable RHP with a 70 grade heater.

    The guy you hated from last year is looking really good with a .815 OPS in AA. I wouldn't be shocked if he's up in Milwaukee sometime next year.

    I do like Eric Brown more than the toolsy OFer's with no hit tool like Dylan Beavers and Jordan Beck. We've been down that road with Corey Ray and it's not pretty.

    Not a big fan of using a 1st round pick on a RH bat that doesn't have any above average tools. The reports about his arm are concerning when he's not as good as a hitter as Tyler Black. I do like his plate discipline and see a nice floor as a platoon option around the IF. It's just not the upside I want with a 1st rounder.

    Brosseau and Hiura in AAA would give us flexibility incase of an injury. The new CBA changed how many times you can shuffle a player between the minors and majors so it's a necessity to have more depth than before. Injuries are bound to happen so those 3 options will get used up quick.

    I think this team needs an improvement against RHP if we want to maximize our offense. A guy like Brad Miller who hit .842 against RHP would fit nicely with Andrew McCutchen and wouldn't cost that much either. The majority of our lineup can handle both RHP and LHP and we've already addressed one of the 2 positions that can't by signing Pedro Severino. We just need that 1 last piece to the puzzle to complete DH. I'd also like to see Hiura stick in AAA until he cuts down his strikeouts so this would kill 2 birds with 1 stone. What other options besides Brad Miller do you think could be a fit?

    I think the better plan would be to give Yelich some starts at 1B against LHP. Taylor is a superior defender than Yelich so we improve our defense in the outfield on those days while still getting a platoon from Tellez and Taylor. That would still leave a bench opening for a LH bat to help at DH so we don't have to see McCutchen and his .650 OPS against RHP everyday.
