  1. Well I think we got a very good sense this past offseason when we splurged for Cutch that the payroll isn't going to grow. Meanwhile the pitching is going to get more expensive. In addition your costliest asset should be found on one of those storage wars shows. I just don't see enough promise to make another run. Too many holes and not enough commitment from up top. Throw in Stearns is not exactly shrewd anymore and I am ready for something new. Counsell should also be gone but that's just me.
  2. Are they capable of winning a world series?? I say no and isn't that what it's all about?? If that is the case then in my opinion get on with getting the highest ceiling prospects you possibly can for those two pitchers and Williams too if you can find a taker. I want to do what the Braves have done and bring up a home grown crew of studs and lock them up.
  3. I don't know who he is speaking of but most fans I talk to are all for a teardown and young exciting players who appear to understand and want to get better at basic things like baserunning and bunting. You can finish out of the playoffs for a lot cheaper than they did this year. There is no reason not to see a lineup with Mitchell Frelick Wiemer Turang Feliciano all in it. Keep Adames as long as it makes sense. Rowdy as long as he's cheap. What's not to like??
  4. Given everything we know in the central outside of the Pirates I think the Brewers are in the worst shape. It doesn't have to be this way of course. They have assets that they could turn into some injections of youth and energy. Will be an interesting offseason. My money is on a 65 million payroll and complete teardown.
  5. Counsell keeps saying all hands on deck. I guess he means after the guy I want gives up the lead every night you better be ready to mop up.
  6. The worst thing that could happen is these guys making the playoffs. You don't want there to be any illusion. This team stinks and the manager needs to be replaced.
  7. I have been on record that Counsell should be fired. Tonight once again the case has been made. The guy is clueless.
  8. Counsell is just going to watch it meltdown isn't he??
  9. Not a fan of two pitch closers unless you are Mariano.
  10. Counsell has to have someone ready right now. Do not let this get away
  11. That last pitch Bush threw just missed being demolished. The guy just throws everything straight. If they make it I wouldn't mind keeping him off the playoff roster.
  12. Pitching Bush in this spot is insane. I would rather Strezelski.
  13. Without the wild pitch and hit batter they don't score at all. Do not be fooled folks this team is brutal. That said let's win.
  14. Are the chances better than not you will win?? Especially since your team can't hit. You guys keep acting like we are in June. you do realize the season is over soon correct?? In June fine. It wasn't a must win because they aren't eliminated?? I guess Counsell is using that same logic.
  15. If you start a guy with a era of 5 in a must win game against a guy with an era of 3 aren't you basically admitting you cannot win said game?? I don't get it.
  16. In the old days teams would line up the best pitchers they have on short rest if necessary in order to make the playoffs. The Brewers started the number 6 starter in a must win game. Make it make sense.
  17. This time a year ago we thought Urias was part of the core. Now he has been banished. My scorecard says the only locks to return next year are Yelich duh.. Rowdy and Adames. I'm guessing Turang plays 2nd and Frelick plays center.
  18. Losing a game when you score 8 runs the night before getting no hit is the cherry on this season sundae.
  19. The McCutchen thing is crazy. The only explanation is that the Brewers had to guarantee that he was going to play this much to get him to come. Why I don't know since he was sitting at home when they got him. Nothing else make sense on a baseball level. Good thing we had the gm on and we asked him nothing related to the mystery of the personnel problems this year.
  20. Burnes just doesn't match up as an ace when needed. He will always have last season but we might have seen his best already.
  21. Brewers could have really used Vogelbach this year as a dh. Makes you wonder why he wasn't asked back. Stearns off season was pretty horrible minus having Renfroe fall into his lap.
  22. It would be nice if Rodgers could be reliable but I'm guessing it's not in the cards.
  23. Huge win. Need dominate Woody tomorrow. Keep the pressure on.
