  1. Or maybe this is just the price of doing business now. Contracts are just going to keep going up and for longer.
  2. I wrote a letter to Santa asking for Baty in a Brewers uniform.
  3. I think we should stop focusing on what the Mets are doing and start concentrating on being better than the Cardinals and the Cubs. The way I see it, right now, 3 teams from the East are in, 2 in the West, which leaves only 1 team in the Central. Winning the Central next year is the only way a team from our division gets into the playoffs. The Central is a three team race and we have not done enough to win it. We are not better than the Cardinals and the Cubs are going to be more of a threat than people want to admit right now. Of course, its still early and who knows what happens with injuries next year but we need to do more.
  4. I wonder if Stearns has a huge calendar on the wall counting down the days.
  5. I think the projections look about right. I think this is a 83 win team right now. Not going to be enough to win the division or make the playoffs.
  6. How can this article question our Ownership and FO? Don't they know that this is the smartest and bestest Ownership and FO in the MLB? I'm not just talking about now but the entire history of baseball!!!! Surely they have to be at the top of the standings of Ownership/FO not to win anything. Did they not hear when Arnold said they were very busy at the winter meetings? I mean they brought a whiteboard and everything!!! Now, why they would want to blow the ownership budget on a whiteboard is beyond me. I mean just look at CC T-shirt he wore doing interviews. CC and Arnold were like kids in a candy store being with all the other MLB teams. They must be tuckered out after their trip to SD. I wonder if they drove north to see Attanasio in LA. Mark probably wanted to have another conversation where they sit around and challenge each other. Nobody wants to win more than those three, just ask them. FO and ownership said at the start they want a ws....then we want to be the best we can be in 2023...to hey we put out a product. I mean what do people expect? They have the highest number of arbitration players in the major leagues right now, which has caught them by surprised somehow even though probably should of been planning this earlier. They have holes to fill from the holes they created every year with there roster creations. Right now ownership is concentrating on what next baseball cards they need to get and getting Norwich promoted to the EPL. There are only so many hours in the day. I mean we are just the Milwaukee Brewers. Should just be happy we have a MLB team. Afterall, this is the Golden Age of Brewers Baseball. I prefer the other title though: WASTING THE BEST ROTATION IN FRANCHISE HISTORY. Wonder if the next era will be WASTING THE POTENTIAL OF OUTFIELD PROSPECTS.
  7. I'm going to preface this with I know it's still early and there is a lot of moves that may happen to improve the roster. However, these are my thoughts at the moment. I think if Winker is healthy (another player with bad knees and a neck issue is not good) and his head is in the right place, it's an okay move for a DH against RHP only, but the trade does not move the needle. If anything, the roster is slightly weaker especially with all the unknowns that are currently penciled in at starting positions. It seems to me the way this roster is penciling out that they are putting a lot of faith in young prospects, who have yet to play a full MLB season or even get in an AB at the ML level. That's a lot of pressure on these young kids to come up and make an impact. Especially for a team that has playoff aspirations or even "WS" aspirations. However, based on Arnolds comments to Adam Mcalvey after the Kolten trade, that the Brewers are trying to be the "best" they can be in 2023. Seems to me that he has even dropped the pretense of contending for a WS right now. They will not use the word rebuild but at best this is a reset to evaluate what they have in the minors to see if these prospects are legit or not. The current lineup is very thin and to be honest there is no one that you are afraid to face. The plan seems to be to lower payroll with the illusion of contending. I do not believe they will sign anyone to improve the roster. This leads me to believe that Burnes, Woody, and Adames will not be extended (and not part of the "plan") and will be gone by the trading deadline next summer, if not sooner. I don't believe BN report that the Brewers have pulled those three off the trading block. To me that just tells me the Brewers are telling the market that the value in return needs to be higher. I have followed the Brewers for 44 years. I've seen the good and the bad of this franchise and all its re-incarnations, the multiple re-builds, plans, etc. The only thing that does not change is some other team always seems to win the WS. I know I will be slated for this view and ridiculed, but I have lost faith.
  8. I hope you are right, but I don't see it.
  9. The FO and Ownership are going to do jack this offseason. It will be more of the same garbage reclamation projects hoping to strike gold. However, I'm sure they will sign a player who hasn't played in the majors since the Carter administration and was bagging groceries last year. Mark will go on air saying how he stretch the budget to do this to take a bite of the apple and be opportunistic in biting the apple to ensure we have future apples to be opportunistic on. Meanwhile in less than 2 years we will have the great pleasure of seeing Burnes in a Dodger uniform and Woody in a Braves uniform and Yelich hitting grounders to second off them. But hey we made the playoffs the last 4 out of 5 years. 1982 as good as it got for this franchise. We are the modern-day St Louis Browns which is fitting since the Browns where the original Milwaukee Brewers.
  10. Fine points but I also think they you have to add in the mix the question of winning a championship. Most players say that is the reason they play the game. That might not be 100% true for all and might not be the only reason but I do think it is a valid consideration. Now I don't think the Crew is that far off from making the playoffs next season but they have to address the offense. Which they still might and hopefully will. If they don't that would make me pause and think if I was either of them. Happy Thanksgiving.

  12. I'm glad you and your family are well. That was intended as a lighthearted comment that I was hoping would bring levity. I see I failed miserably. However, I do take issue with the fact that you should tell anyone what they should think(more or less or not) and whether or not they should post said thoughts. As though their thoughts/opinions are secondary to your own self by denigrating those thoughts as if it's not in reality or living in the "real" world. If you don't like a post do not respond or in a manner that doesn't seem to put one person in a lesser place than the responder. My post was true. On one level this was a salary dump. That is a true statement. Now whether you chose to view that as an absolute truth or view it in the complete series of events that might happen is your choice to explain the situation is your choice. Neither view is wrong. The sheer arrogance of some people to deem that their thoughts are superior to anyone others. The hypocrisy of it is galling.
  13. I believe they started it they said my opinion on a topic wasn't based on reality and that I don't live in the real world. I was only defending myself. However, if this offended or upset you I do apologize. My intent is not to upset people.
  14. I would still like someone to explain to me if you are Burnes or Woody, why would you sign an extension with Milwaukee? They know in 2 years' time or maybe 1 year that they will either be traded or hit the FA market and will get paid (probably more than the Brewers can or be willing to pay) and be on an organization that probably is better suited (or serious about) winning a WS. Everyone on this board acts like the extension are completely controlled by the Brewers and players have no say in it. If I'm either of them or any impact FA, no way to I even consider Milwaukee even if Mark ponies up the money and blows all other offers off the table. I mean Bob Uecker goes only so far.

  16. I know the offseason has just started and I know the Brewers might make some more moves to improve the roster so before anybody jumps down my throat, I acknowledge that. I doubt it but I acknowledge it. But if Perkins and Singleton are on the OD roster and they make no moves to actually improve the roster, then this FRANCHISE is pathetic. The OWNERSHIP group is pathetic. And I am pathetic for following them.
  17. Then you have the utmost sympathy for you and your family from me, life must be very hard for you.
  18. It is. Most things are simple. It's whether or not you choose to accept those things or wish those things not to be true is where the grey area comes in.
  19. Truth usually is simple.
  20. I been a fan since 78 so pipe down. I will tell you Arizona and Miami have won at least one WS and Tampa has been to more than the crew. So your right they must be doing something right that the crew cant figure out. Seems the Brewers can't get over the hump but hey just keep drinking the cool aid and be a sheep. The Brewers have had a whole list of multiple prospects over the years and they have amounted to jack. Might happen this time as well. I did say in a early post that there might be other moves but right now this trade made a pretty thin offense worse.
  21. I also need to work on another corner outfielder because I didn't think they would trade Hunter.
  22. Bassitt for a SP. Vasquez at C and try to trade for Diaz of the Rays to play 3rd/DH Still thinking about 1B.
  23. 6th most wins since 2018...So, do you get a trophy for that? We didn't win anything. Love how you take a small sample size of 4 years as some measure stick of success. But its the Brewers we don't have much success. We haven't won anything in 53 years other than 1 pennant. Franchise record payroll.... I'm so impressed but it is still below average for the league. Maybe a conversation should begin on whether or not Milwaukee is a viable market for MLB? I'm mean they had 2 tries and this is the 3rd. Maybe it just doesn't work and Milwaukee is a AAA market no shame in that. Financial standing withing the MLB hierarchy... Thats a valid point so maybe but until they open their books, or any major league team opens their all this talk of what they can't or cannot spend is pure speculation. Mark A said at the trade deadline that they could of went after any player including Soto. I guess he was lying then. Nobody knows what they can spend or not other than those in the room. This trade made a not very deep lineup worse. The players they received back don't move the needle at all. Depth at most.
  24. Brilliant. You must work in ownership. Can hear Mark next year saying on opening day, you know picking up Wongs option his like adding a high impact free agent.
