  1. Thursday 1/22: VIDEO via "Foul Territory": Curt Hogg breaks down the aftermath of Milwaukee trading Freddy Peralta and what it means for the organization moving forward. The discussion focuses on how Brewers fans are reacting to losing another beloved ace and why this move feels different from past trades. Curt explains how the front office views sustained playoff contention versus pushing all-in for a World Series run. The guys debate whether Milwaukee truly believes it can win without Peralta or if this is another bet on the long game. It’s a candid look at the Brewers philosophy, fan patience, and the real cost of “trusting the process.” Via the Wisconsin Sports Radio Network's "Inside Wisconsin Sports with Trevor and Josh": Lane Grindle Via the Wisconsin Sports Radio Network's "Inside Wisconsin Sports with Trevor and Josh": Tim Allen Via WTMJ's Midday News (download link): "Caleb Durbin talks about being on the Frozen Sausage Tour and the impact his presence has on school kids throughout Wisconsin, as well as the recent Freddy Peralta trade news." 3. That'd be 12 teams. Only 18 more to go! I have so much to say about potential MiLB contraction, as so do all the municipalities who invested millions in new parks, park upgrades, related infrastructure, etc., to meet MLB's demands. Will aim to post those thoughts in full another time relatively soon. P.S. I hope those municipalities have great legal representation to pursue the eventual major compensation and punitive packages from MLB.

Freddy Peralta and Tobias Myers are headed to Queens in exchange for two prospects: RHP Brandon Sproat and SS Jett Williams. Dom sits down to give quick reaction to the return and what it means for the Brewers in the 2026 season. This podcast has accompanying video as well over on the 620 WTMJ YouTube page." Via the Journal Sentinel Podcast: "The Brewers finally made an offseason splash, trading ace starter Freddy Peralta and Tobias Myers to the New York Mets for two young players likely to help the Brewers in 2026. Reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe dissect the deal in this emergency podcast, discussing the newcomers and where they fit with the team. 6. It's only a technicality, but only one of the 22 signings has not been acknowledged on MiLB.com as a formal transaction - Dominican catcher Francisco Mir.
  7. Monday 1/19: Via the Journal Sentinel Podcast: "It's Hot Stove season, not that the Brewers are standing anywhere near the flame. Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe each offer five names who might interest the Brewers, but don't expect any exciting names. In fact, one of the rules of their draft: The player can't be obviously exciting. Before that, they discuss the Los Angeles Dodgers signing of Kyle Tucker for an absurd four years and $240 million. Sure, a lockout would be bad for baseball, but they break down at length whether or not it would be bad for the Brewers, if such an action results in an MLB salary cap." Latest Milwaukee Tailgate Podcast - "It was a slow Brewers news week, but the guys did talk about the recent crop of international signings, engaged in some Dodgers Discourse, another hypothetical Freddy Peralta trade, backup catchers, Craig Yoho and the most Milwaukee possible gameday giveaway." 8. Here's the box score and gameday from that January 11th game. Garcia was still playing after the Venezuela Maduro capture on January 3rd. Pulling up the AI-generated Dr. Google-like search: A non-displaced ulnar fracture is a crack in the ulna bone (forearm bone) where the bone pieces remain in their normal alignment, often treated non-surgically with immobilization (splint or cast) for several weeks to allow healing, followed by physical therapy to regain strength and motion, though surgical consultation is crucial for definitive management. Immobilization: A splint or cast is used to keep the bone still, typically for 4-8 weeks. Monitoring: Regular X-rays ensure the bone doesn't shift out of place (displace) as it heals. Physical Therapy: Essential after cast removal to restore forearm strength, wrist movement, and rotation. *** So, it would seem that the 23-year-old Garcia's stint as a non-roster invitee could be impacted in the early part of spring training but not long-term. It'll be a minor story during the early days of camp.
  9. Steward Berroa 0-for-2, two walks, run scored, and a stolen base. His team lives on with a 4-1 win, needs to win the next two. By the way, Geraldo Perdomo as your round robin teammate, nice.
  10. It's a little complicated, but here's the situation regarding Steward Berroa's Dominican Winter League Aguilas Cibaenas team, in terms of qualifying for the Championship Series against Leones del Escogido, who are already in. The other team in the mix is former Timber Rattlers and Mudcats Manager Victor Estevez' Toros del Este, which won 6-5 Saturday night to move to an 11-7 record. Berroa's Aguilas squad was rained out Saturday. They will make up the game Sunday - it's against the Leones team that already clinched a finals spot. On Friday, Berroa's team defeated Manager Estevez' squad but Estevez led a formal protest regarding roster discrepancies (basically, a paperwork technicality). The league commissioner subsequently annulled the game in a decision on Saturday, as if Friday's game never happened. That is to say that without that game officially computed, today the Toros have a game and a half advantage over Berroa's Aguilas in the standings. So, here's the scoop. For Berroa's Aguilas (Eagles) team to move on to the final, they need to win today against the Leones (Lions), then come out with a victory against Toros in the rescheduled game and later triumph in the tiebreaker duel. Meaning win three do-or-die games. If Aguilas loses Sunday (or in any subsequent additional pre-finals games), the finals are set and Berroa's season ends. Spanish language source Box Score / Gameday for 2:00 PM Central on Sunday. Games Saturday could be streamed live on the MLB app, not sure if that will be the case for this game.
  11. Friday 1/16: Via WTMJ's Morning News: "What's on Tap host Sandy Maxx joins the show, and we go back-and-forth on the one-year-anniversary of the day we lost Bob Uecker. Plenty of audio clips. Plus, Sandy talks about the 'Evening with Pat Murphy' event she went to. A candid sit down with the Brewers manager where he eventually took questions from the crowd. A great accounting of this awesome event." Via David Gasper's "Brewers Daily" YouTube page: "Brewers Sign 22 International Players"
