  2. Image courtesy of BrewerFanatic Transactions: Milwaukee Brewers sent LHP Robert Gasser on a rehab assignment to ACL Brewers. Milwaukee Brewers signed free agent LHP Bruce Zimmermann to a minor league contract and assigned him to Nashville Sounds. Nashville Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Nashville 7, Indianapolis (Pirates) 4 Box Score and Game Log Via the Sounds, game details, and we encourage readers to review affiliate write-ups as part of their Link Report routine: Sounds Score Three Unanswered to Take Series Over Indians Chad Patrick needed 90 pitches to navigate five innings of three-run ball (two earned), and the bullpen was solid over the final four frames. Nice for the Brewers to have Craig Yoho in their back pocket for MLB depth, it's hoped his stuff (and MiLB results) will better translate to the big-league stage when called upon next. The linked game summary spotlighted Bobby Dalbec's first-ever four-walk game, he played third base here. If anything (hope not) were to happen to Andrew Vaughn, Dalbec's RH bat and profile would make sense to find room on the 40-man for. There was another Nashville sombrero of the golden variety, but it was a win on the night, so rather than a call-out here, we'll leave your box score curiosity to click away. Do not be concerned by Jeferson Quero's exit for a pinch-runner after a late-game HBP. It was a standard situation in a tight ballgame. Oliver Dunn played second base for the 4th time in 2025. He has a .572 OPS vs. LHP's in 56 ABs, so this hit was big - find a couple of other highlights at the team's "X" timeline: Biloxi Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Montgomery (Rays) 1, Biloxi 0 Box Score and Game Log Catch up with the latest Biloxi pre-game audio interview archives Kuehner Turns in Strong Start in Shuckers Loss to Biscuits - Shuckers lefty tosses 5.2 shutout innings, strikes out six, lowers ERA to 2.45 There were only 12 baserunners combined in this game, just five for Biloxi. Matt Wood doubled on a line drive to right field with one out in the 1st. Cooper Pratt flied out to center, Zavier Warren popped out, and that was that. Those would be the Shuckers' only two at-bats with RISP all night long. The Biscuits' one-run 8th inning "rally" began when a leadoff bunt back to LH reliever Brian Fitzpatrick resulted in in a single. Another bunt sacrificed that runner to second base, then this: But Mommy, we just got here! T: 1:52. Att: 3,304. Wisconsin Pre-Game Media Notes (download link) Final: Wisconsin 10, Cedar Rapids (Twins) 0 Box Score and Game Log Wisconsin Wins Big in Cedar Rapids - Hall homers twice as Rodriguez pitches five scoreless in 10-0 victory Enjoy that game summary, folks, as much as the T-Rats enjoyed performing in this game. About that "enjoy", it's a nice collection of highlights awaiting at the team's "X" timeline, especially if former longtime big league catcher Toby Hall wants to catch both of his son's home runs. As for the direct video we'll say hello to newcomer catcher Andrick Nava, who finished 2-for-5 and given the final score, had no problem acclimating himself to new-for-him pitchers. About those pitchers, way to go Manuel Rodriguez, Anthony Flores, and Aaron Rund. Rodriguez is still 19 years old for a couple more weeks, while the southpaw Flores is age 20 for this season. My goodness, since joining the Mudcats in 2024, in 135.1 innings, Rodriguez has allowed only 113 hits and 27 free passes (19 walks, 8 HBP's), a WHIP of 0.97. At first, I didn't think the 2025 Rattlers had won many blowout games, but this was actually the 9th time they had won by six runs or more (game-by-game results). We see you (again), Jadher. Likely so are 29 other organizations. Carolina Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Carolina 3, Delmarva (Orioles) 2 Box Score and Game Log Mudcats Rally Past Delmarva Except for a change at catcher in the nine-hole, Manager Nick Stanley rolled out the same big-name starting nine as on Friday night, and while the output generated just three runs for a successive night, there were 12 baserunners Saturday, although Braylon Payne's double (he also singled) was the lone extra base knock. These 'Cats also fanned 13 times at the plate. But Jesus Made and Luis Pena, along with LF Tyler Rodriguez, joined Payne in the multi-hit club. Speed merchant updates: Luis Pena now with 37 stolen bases in 44 attempts (one in this game) Jesus Made now with 39 stolen bases in 46 attempts - however, Made hit the trifecta here, one SB, one CS, one pickoff. My box score beef - it's the same singular play! CS: Made (7, 3rd base by Menard/Tuft) PO: Made (2nd base by Menard). Kudos to all three Mudcats arms - LHP Bjorn Johnson was excellent through 3.2 innings behind a mainly effective Wande Torres. While Johnson did allow one inherited runner to score, it was hardly a line drive - Along with RHP Jose Nova for the save, the Carolina trio only walked one all night, fanning six. Without Carolina player video for this one, it's worth your while to examine the top of the 7th and 8th inning game logs to get a sense of how those rallies netted the win. Final: ACL Brewers 5, ACL Guardians 0 Box Score and Game Log Seems crazy, but the formal Complex League schedule for the Maryvale Brewers ends this Wednesday the 23rd. The team is currently only carrying three extra position players, two of whom are catchers. There will still be plenty of activity at American Family Fields of Phoenix, but if any big-league Brewers head there to rehab, we won't see formal lines in box scores after Wednesday. The A-Crew managed just two singles, but they stranded nine thanks to six walks and two HBP's. Five at-bats came with RISP (0-for-5). Jadyn Fielder, playing left field here, was on base three times, walking twice and getting plunked for the 10th time in this, his debut pro season. His OBP now sits at .426, and along with SS Jorge Quintana and RF Handelfry Encarnacion, can make the case to see action in Carolina down the stretch. The four full-season affiliates are in action Sunday, with the Timber Rattlers playing a traditional early-afternoon affair, others late-afternoon or in the case of Logan Henderson and Nashville, evening. Look for the DSL All-Star Game box score here. Catcher Jonathan Rangel, RHP Steven Duran and LHP Joan Pena represent the Crew. Rangel is 18 years old, Pena 17, and Duran is just 16 years old, although he turns 17 this Thursday. Have a nice day, everybody. Go Brewers in LA! 9. Image courtesy of BrewerFanatic Transactions: Milwaukee Brewers sent LHP Nestor Cortes on a rehab assignment to Nashville Sounds. Milwaukee Brewers recalled CF Blake Perkins from Nashville Sounds. RHP Justin Yeager assigned to Nashville Sounds from Biloxi Shuckers. Biloxi Shuckers transferred SS Eric Brown Jr. from the 7-day injured list to the 60-day injured list. C Eric Martinez assigned to Biloxi Shuckers from Carolina Mudcats. Nashville Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Nashville 6, Indianapolis (Pirates) 1, game called in the bottom of the 6th in Nashville, rain Box Score and Game Log Via the Sounds, game details, and we encourage readers to review affiliate write-ups as part of their Link Report routine: Cameron Launches Pair of Home Runs in Rain-Shortened Win - Rehabbing Cortes Earns Win in Third Rehab Start Pirates top pitching prospect Bubba Chandler is no slouch (3.27 ERA, a less impressive 1.36 WHIP), and the Sounds smoked him for eight knocks, four of the XBH variety. We all know Daz Cameron was placed in Pat Murphy's "cooler" during his ten weeks with the Crew (.507 OPS in 41 AB's). Folks tend to use the "he's putting up video game numbers" a bit too freely, but when it comes to Cameron's 16 games as a Nashville Sound in 2025, that phrase is more than appropriate - .400/.446/.969 (1.415 OPS). The evidence - Even though Mother Nature allowed the Sounds to only make 16 outs in this game, that top of the box score will make you smile, especially if you're Jeferson Quero or Tyler Black. Tyler, feel free to go on an absolute burn over the next week and a half to increase your trade value. Jeferson, you're not going anywhere - As we all know, it's going to be a fascinating storyline in Milwaukee once Nestor Cortes finalizes his rehab stint, likely after one more start. Admit it, you had no idea infielder Raynel Delgado was up to 27 stolen bases (in 32 attempts). Ernesto Martinez Jr. on the pine again, and given the roster makeup, we shouldn't be surprised, even with Wes Clarke traded and Andrew Vaughn in MLB. Former Brewers farmhand Cam Devanney, just traded by the Royals to Pittsburgh, debuted with his new organization and was 1-for-3 here. Devanney did not yet make his MLB debut despite being on the KC active roster for nearly a week prior to the All-Star break. Biloxi Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Biloxi 4, Montgomery (Rays) 2 Box Score and Game Log Catch up with the latest Biloxi pre-game audio interview archives Wood Reaches Five Times as Shuckers Swim to League-Leading 50th Win - Mendoza strikes out five over three shutout innings, Spain turns in highlight-reel slide in ninth So, this happened - For a more subdued call, here's the home team Biscuits announcer. You'll see Gregory Barrios and his .570 OPS on the Montgomery side of the box. He netted Aaron Civale, which in turn netted Andrew Vaughn, so yes, that worked out OK. Matt Wood doubled as part of his perfect-in-five-trips evening, and it's his SLG that was rarely evident in Appleton that has been prominent with the Shuckers. Wood's huge OBP mark Friday lifted his figure in that regard to .373, which matches his on-base mark through all of 2024 and with Wisconsin earlier this year. If not for Ramon Rodriguez' devastating Achilles injury early this season, Wood may very well still be a Timber Rattler. He took advantage of the opportunity, for sure. Would have been nice to see one more inning from Brett Wichrowski (72 pitches through four frames), but the organization will follow their master plan with all starters. The silence on Luke Adams' shoulder injury is indeed frustrating, as today marks exactly one month since the 21-year-old's last game appearance. Wisconsin Pre-Game Media Notes (download link) Final: Cedar Rapids (Twins) 5, Wisconsin 4, ten innings Box Score and Game Log Rattlers Drop Ten-Inning Decision at Cedar Rapids - Areinamo has four hits for Wisconsin As usual, Chris Mehring's write-up well explained how the latter stages of this game played out, unfortunately not in victorious fashion, as the T-Rats dropped to 6-16 in the second half standings. Just 44 pitches for RH starter Ryan Birchard when lifted after two innings, Jaron DeBerry followed with four innings. The day off this Monday after these three-game post-All-Star-break series is allowing for some creative rotation work across the system, it seems. Oh Jadher, you'll get to AA Biloxi someday (if you're not part of a trade deadline package first). Eventually we'll look back on a big-league career and say, wait, why exactly did he repeat High-A in 2025? Actually, let's not fuss, Areinamo is 21 years old for all of this season. When this team gets bottom of the order production, as it did on Friday, wins must be a result, otherwise the infrequent circumstances are wasted. The walk-off-loss base hit was hardly a line drive. Carolina Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Carolina 3, Delmarva (Orioles) 0 Box Score and Game Log Mudcats Open Second Half with Shutout Victory Well, it's not really the start of the second half of the season or even the start of the second half standings, but we get your drift, Mr. Mudcats Headline Writer. The Muddies lineup only produced three runs, but what a glorious sight to see Payne-Adamczewski-Made-Pena-Bitonti in those first five slots. We would have placed Filippo Di Turi next above Jose Anderson (a sombrero here), but that's a quibble and Anderson still has promise. Double and single for the conquering Josh Adamczewski in his long-awaited return. He also reached on a catcher's interference - always look for that if you can't figure out where a "missing" plate appearance may be within a box score. Although it's the opponent audio for this road game, the Mudcats media crew provides highlights on their "X" feed to supplement the game summary. There's a well-stocked five-man bench on the Carolina roster now, but if those main components are atop the lineup more often than not, this team should be able to go on quite a run and net a well-deserved playoff spot via a second half title. Oh wait, there are promotions to Wisconsin forthcoming, aren't there. Stay tuned. Yet another example of the post-break schedule, as RHP Melvin Hernandez piggy-backed with fellow righty Travis Smith here. Smith has placed the two poor starts to end June far in his rear-view mirror, it seems. Final: ACL Brewers 5, ACL Diamondbacks 4 Box Score and Game Log 19-year-old corner infielder Frederi Montero, a LH bat playing third base here, had key singles in the 1st and 5th innings to lead the way. The A-Crew's three-run 5th was aided by two D-Back errors. It's fantastic to see the top bonus baby of 2024, switch-hitting shortstop Jorge Quintana, improve as his first stateside season nears an end (although we may see him in Carolina to backfill any upcoming promotions there). Quintana's strong June was fueled by a .419 OBP, while his July has been SLG-strong at .481. Quintana was a home run shy of a cycle in this game. Maryvale pitchers fanned 15 and walked three, with strong performances for pitchers who have had some struggles, as the box score will indicate. Final: DSL Cubs Blue 5, DSL Brewers Gold 4, game ended in the top of the Brewers 6th as the road team, rain Box Score and Game Log Talk about the rug being pulled out from under you. This game was called as the good guys had the bases loaded and just one out in the top of the 6th, an inning in which they had scored once to get to within a run. The Cubs organization playing rainout mind games once again... Weather: 85 degrees, Sunny. Wind: 1 mph, Calm. All six Golden hits were doubles. What's the MLB record for every team's hit being a double? Someone call Jayson Stark. Freddy's 18-year-old cousin Christopher Peralta walked six and threw two wild pitches. Suspended: DSL Padres Gold 4, DSL Brewers Blue 0, one out in the top of the Padres 4th as the road team, rain Box Score and Game Log This game will be completed on Tuesday July 22nd, so our Joseph Zarr will have the privilege of describing the eventual comeback. The good news - 17-year-old Venezuelan RHP Luis Velasquez tossed 2.1 innings of hitless ball. The bad news - Velasquez walked eight, threw two wild pitches, and committed a balk. You can review the game log summary for the 2nd and 4th innings to learn of his travails. The Dominican teams are off on Saturday in preparation for Sunday's league All-Star Game. Logan Henderson looks for his 13th win of the season (combined MLB, MiLB) when he pitches for Nashville this evening. The lone day game Saturday is in Arizona at the Maryvale complex.
