Akil Baddoo Hits Go-Ahead Homer as Sounds Win Third Straight All Nine Starters Record a Hit for Nashville NASHVILLE – The Sounds earned their third straight one-run win, beating the Louisville Bats 7-6 on Thursday night at First Horizon Park. All nine Nashville starters recorded at least one hit. Brock Wilken and Andrick Nava turned in multi-hit games while Akil Baddoo produced 3-RBI, hitting the go-ahead home run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Louisville opened the scoring with a three-run home run in the top of the second off Sounds' starter Carlos Rodriguez. Nashville responded in the bottom half of the inning with a two-out, two-RBI single for Brandon Lockridge after Nava kept the rally alive with a single to load the bases and his first hit of the night. The Bats held a 3-2 lead into the top of the fifth. Brandon Sproat worked two scoreless innings (2 H, 2 K, 2 BB) in relief of Rodriguez (2.0 IP, 2 H, HR, 3 ER, 3 K, 2 BB). Right-hander Kaleb Bowman took over on the mound for the Sounds in the top of the fifth and issued a leadoff walk ahead of a passed ball that put a runner into scoring position. A single for Will Benson put runners on the corners before a productive groundout put the Bats ahead by a pair of runs. Nashville's deficit grew to four just two batters later when Orlando Arcia hit a two-run home run to make it 6-2. Nashville answered in the bottom of the sixth with another two-out rally. Tyler Black started it with a single before Ethan Murray won a 12-pitch battle against Kent Emanuel with a RBI bloop single into shallow left field. Nava added his second hit of the night and scored Murray to cut the Bats' lead to 6-4. Blake Holub pitched around a one-out double in the top of the seventh for Nashville to send the offense back to work. Wilken began the inning with a single and was followed aboard by Blake Burke who drew a walk and sent Baddoo to the plate. He didn't miss the 2-0 fastball offering from Zach McCambley and sent it over the left-center field wall to give Nashville its first lead of the night. Jared Koenig (1.0 IP) and Cameron Wagoner (1.0 IP) slammed the door on the Bats with a pair of scoreless frames in the eighth and ninth. Wagoner surrendered a two-out single to Benson and he swiped second to put the tying run in scoring position. Wagoner responded with a five-pitch strikeout of Noelvi Marte to strand the runner at second and a secure third straight win and Triple-A best 43rd win at home for the Sounds. The second-to-last homestand of the season heads to the weekend portion of the series with Brewers no. 7-rated prospect Tyson Hardin (4-4, 4.86 ERA) slated to get the start for Nashville on Friday night. The 24-year-old ranks sixth in RBI (74) and eighth in doubles (23) among full-season minor league hitters in the Brewers' farm system. Via Chris Edwards: Antunez Named Carolina League Player of the Month Selection Marks Fourth Overall Recognition for Warbirds Player WILSON, N.C. – Minor League Baseball has announced that Wilson Warbirds outfielder Brailyn Antunez has been named the Carolina League Player of the Month for August, becoming the first player in franchise history to earn the league's monthly honor. Antunez is coming off a month in which he batted .372/.465/.628 and led the Carolina League in hits (32) and total bases (54). Additionally, Antunez was second on the circuit in home runs (five) and third in average (.372) and runs (21) and slugging percentage (.628) and was fifth in on-base percentage (.465), OPS (1.093) while also collecting 13 multi-hit games. Signed by the Milwaukee Brewers as an international free agent on January 15, 2026, out of Maracaibo, Venezuela, Antunez opened the season in the Arizona Complex League before being assigned to Wilson on July 24. Since joining the Warbirds, Antunez has continued to make an immediate impact, batting .355 with seven home runs and 30 RBI. Since his promotion to Wilson, he leads the Carolina League in RBI while ranking second in both batting average and home runs. Antunez is currently ranked as the No. 27 prospect in the Milwaukee Brewers organization by MLB Pipeline. He got so hot in August that Minor League Baseball named Dickinson as the winner of their Midwest League Player of the Month award for August. Dickinson, the sixth-round pick of the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2025 draft out of LSU, played in all of Wisconsin’s 27 games in August. He was 36-for-105 (.343) with four homers, nineteen RBI, and eighteen stolen bases. Additionally, Dickinson had nine doubles, scored 25 runs, and walked fifteen times. He had an OPS of 1.033 in August. The Rattlers second baseman led the Midwest League in average, runs, hits, and steals in August. Via Chris Mehring, Radio Announcer/Director, Media Relations Mercedes Shines in Rattlers Debut Wisconsin hangs on for 4-3 win at Beloit BELOIT, WI – Miqueas Mercedes started Wednesday’s game against the Beloit Sky Carp to make his Wisconsin Timber Rattlers debut. His first Midwest League game was memorable for the right-hander as he tossed 5-2/3 scoreless innings to earn the win as the Rattlers held on for a 4-3 victory at ABC Supply Stadium. Luis Castillo put the Timber Rattlers (67-56 overall, 33-28 second half) up 1-0 with a two-out, RBI single in the top of the first. Sawyer Strosnider made it 2-0 with an RBI grounder in the second inning. Both starting pitchers kept the score right there. Brayan Mendoza only allowed three hits – and none after the second inning – as he went six innings and struck out seven for the Sky Carp. Mercedes walked four, struck out four, and allowed three hits over his 5-2/3 shutout inning. Mercedes did need some assistance to keep the zeros in his run column. Beloit chased Mercedes from the game with a two-out rally in the bottom of the sixth. He retired the first two batters he faced before allowing a single and a walk to end his night. Yerlin Rodriguez threw a wild pitch and issued a walk to load the bases before getting the final out of the sixth to protect the 2-0 advantage. Rodriguez followed that up with a perfect bottom of the seventh. Eric Bitonti hit a towering home run to right to start the Wisconsin eighth inning. The homer was the twenty-fifth of the season for the Timber Rattlers single-season home run record holder. Only three players in the history of Professional Baseball in Appleton have hit more homers in a season: Daryl Boston hit 26 with the 1972 Appleton Foxes, Carlos Pascual had 27 with the 1958 Fox Cities Foxes, and Pat Seerey had 31 with the 1941 Appleton Papermakers. Later in the eighth, Luiyin Alastre made the score 4-0 with a sacrifice fly. That turned out to be a very important run. Rodriguez walked the lead-off batter in the bottom of the eighth inning but got Carter Johnson to send a grounder to Tayden Hall at first. Hall threw to second for the force play but Juan Ortuño’s return throw to Rodriguez to complete to double play could not be handled. Victor Ortega followed with a double. Then, Chase Jaworsky hit 1-2 pitch from Rodriguez to right for a three-run homer to cut Wisconsin’s lead to one run. Michael Fowler entered the game from the Wisconsin bullpen and got the final two outs of the eighth. In the ninth, he issued a two-out walk before getting a strikeout to close out the game and earn his fifth save of the season. The Timber Rattlers have won three consecutive games. Game three of the series is Thursday night at ABC Supply Stadium. Jayden Dubanewicz (3-5, 5.13) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers. Nate Payne (5-7, 3.89) is set to start for the Sky Carp. Game time is 6:05pm. All three of Biloxi’s game winning hits against Birmingham have come off the bat of Jesús Made. Wande Torres (5.0ip, 0r, 3k) also dazzled in his Double-A debut, twirling five shutout innings out of the bullpen. That ties the longest outing by a Shuckers reliever this season. The Shuckers strung together a pair of runs in the first after a sacrifice fly by Made and a solo homer from Josh Adamczewski, off the bat at 103 mph, going 382 feet. The Barons collected a big inning in the third thanks to a Jorge Corona leadoff bomb, a Dylan Campbell RBI double and a Caleb Bonemer sacrifice fly to take a 3-2 lead. Birmingham brought two more runs home in the fifth on a second Corona round tripper and an RBI base knock by Caleb Bonomer. Damon Keith cut the deficit to 5-3 with a 116 mph, 434 foot laser home run in the fifth. That tied the hardest-hit ball by a Shucker this season and represented Keith's second off the bat at 115 or more. Andrew Fischer made it a one-run game in the sixth with a sacrifice fly. Biloxi was down to its final strike in the ninth, but Damon Keith came through with a game-tying RBI single and Made sent the Shuckers faithful home happy with the walk-off base hit in the 10th. Brewers no. 23-rated prospect Coleman Crow turned in a season-high 7.0 IP and earned his 23rd career quality start in the win. The Sounds jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second thanks to four straight one-out singles started by Akil Baddoo. Jonathan Ornelas followed, and Tyler Black picked up where he left off Tuesday night after delivering the walk-off winner with a RBI single to start his night on Wednesday. Ramon Rodriguez added the second straight RBI single to score Ornelas. Blake Burke added the fifth - and what turned out to be the final - hit of the night for Nashville with a one-out single in the bottom of the third. He tried to tag up and advance to second on a fly ball off the bat of Jeferson Quero, but the Bats successfully appealed that Burke had left first base early and brought an abrupt end to the inning. THERE HE GOES AGAIN: Tyler Black went 1-for-3, getting credited with one of the two RBI in Wednesday night's game against the Bats, extended his on-base streak to 14 consecutive games. The 14 games is the third longest-active on-base streak on the team, and he is hitting .375 (6-for-16), two doubles, three RBI and two runs in that span. It was Black's second straight game with an RBI, including Tuesday night's two-run walk-off double in the bottom of the ninth. Black extended his hit streak to five consecutive games. RUNS MATTER MORE THAN BATS: Despite getting held to five or fewer hits for a second straight game and being doubled up in the hit column, Nashville earned a second straight 3-2 win in the late innings. The five hits Nashville had on Wednesday was the 34th time the Sounds have recorded five hits or less and the 17th now at home. The 34 games marks as the fifth-most in the International League with Norfolk at the top with 48. The team had 36 games where they put up five hits or less during the 2025 season and are now two away from tying that number with 16 games remaining this season.

Warbirds Surrender Big Third Inning, Fall to Fredericksburg Montero Notches Three Hits Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, VA - The Wilson Warbirds allowed seven runs in the third inning, falling 8-3 to the Fredericksburg Nationals on Wednesday afternoon at Virginia Credit Union Stadium. Wilson (64-62, 28-32 second half) got the offense going early, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning. Filippo Di Turi came home on a wild pitch by Noah Millikan (W, 3-2). The Warbirds doubled the lead in the top of the third inning. A Brailyn Antunez groundout with Kevin Garcia on third provided the Warbirds with a 2-0 advantage. The lead was short-lived, however, as Fredericksburg (76-51, 30-31 second half) ripped off seven runs in the bottom of the third. Nationals came into score on singles by Jordan Williams, Juan Cruz, Hunter Hines, and Sir Jamison Jones. Ma’Kale Holden (L, 0-1) sprinkled in a couple of walks as well to cut his Warbirds debut short. A triple by Cruz in the seventh pushed the Fredericksburg lead to 8-2. Frederi Montero, who was 3-4 at the plate, capped off a great day by hitting a home run for Wilson in the top of the eighth, but the Warbirds could not muster any more offense, falling 8-3. With the loss, Wilson has dropped eight consecutive games. The Warbirds and Nationals play again tomorrow at 6:35 p.m. RHP Luke Roupe (1-1, 13.00) will make the start for the Warbirds against RHP Landon Harmon (1-1, 1.24).

RHP Joel Kuhnel returned to Milwaukee from Nashville MLB rehab (Kuhnel was subsequently DFA'd). We'll see if down the road Kuhnel, like others (Pannone, Richardson, Bae) eventually either accepts the outright or tests the waters and subsequently returns.
