Image courtesy of BrewerFanatic Transactions: Milwaukee Brewers signed free agent OF Eddie Rosario to a minor league contract. Milwaukee Brewers optioned RHP Elvis Peguero to Nashville Sounds. Biloxi Shuckers activated C Victor Torres from the Development List. It also appears that RHP Fray Morelo has been released (brief details provided here). Final: Memphis (Cardinals) 8, Nashville 5 Box Score and Game Log The Sounds have yet to release their game summary as of this AM - here is the still-helpful Memphis report: Baker Blasts Redbirds Past Sounds on Friday Night It appears that Luken Baker did not take kindly to being plastered all over the internet as the 103 MPH strikeout victim of Jacob Misiorowski a day earlier. Baker blasted two home runs off an ineffective Sounds starter Bruce Zimmerman. With Zimmerman on the rubber, along with relievers Garrett Stallings, Jesús Liranzo and Vinny Nittoli, it was not a prime night for top prospect watchers, although the three relief veterans combined to allow only one earned run (Stallings) over the final 3.1 innings. Oliver Dunn is going to continue to see time at shortstop, as he did here. He'll split with Freddy Zamora. Bobby Dalbec, playing right field, singled for his first hit in 18 at-bats as a Sound (8 K's, 0 BB's). But the primary story in this game filled my morning with video research, follow along here: That link also provides foreshadowing of a very unfortunate development in the Biloxi game. Nick Kahle is on hand to be the Nashville backup catcher to Jorge Alfaro. Biloxi Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Montgomery (Rays) 4, Biloxi 3 Box Score and Game Log Catch up with the latest Biloxi pre-game audio interview archives Shuckers Suffer Walk-Off Loss to Biscuits - Maciejewski strikes out 5 over 3.0 shutout relief innings in low-scoring affair Luke Adams, playing first base, and Zavier Warren, playing second, both reached base twice. Warren tripled. The Shuckers had six hits, including three for extra-bases, and walked six times as well, but 12 K's and a 2-for-11 evening with RISP spelled doom. We never did get definitive word as to why RH starter Brett Wichrowski was held back in Maryvale side sessions to begin the season, but this was his third start with Biloxi and the five walks and one strikeout over three innings is a sign he's not quite at capacity. That's now nine walks and an HBP over ten innings in 2025. Justin Yeager pitched a sweet 1-2-3 8th inning, but it's hard to work around a leadoff triple, as he quickly found out in the 9th. Like the Nashville game, the focus here is sadly on another serious injury exit: Very coincidentally, inexperienced Victor Torres (all of 31 AB's with Carolina and Wisconsin in 2024, zero AB's thus far in 2025) was activated off the Development List prior to this game. Unless the organization plugs in catcher help for the Shuckers (they almost assuredly will), Torres will act as Darrien Miller's backup for now. Wisconsin Pre-Game Media Notes (download link) Final, Game One: Wisconsin 1, Beloit (Marlins) 0, seven innings as scheduled Box Score and Game Log Hardin Deals a Shutout to Beloit - Right-hander allows two hits and strikes out seven in 1-0 win Keep in mind, this was posted earlier in the day: 7 IP, 2 H (both singles), 0 R, 0 BB, 6 K, 92 pitches, 61 strikes. My goodness, Tyson - also, be sure to listen to the Will Schierholz interview below for insights on Hardin, Manuel Rodriguez, Bishop Letson, Bayden Root, Aaron Rund, Zach Peek, and other arms at the affiliates. Thanks, Chris, for asking about the sideline status for those currently on the mend (Rodriguez, Letson). Final, Game Two: Wisconsin 1, Beloit (Marlins) 0, seven innings as scheduled Box Score and Game Log Garcia’s Homer Wins Game for Wisconsin - Rattlers sweep doubleheader from Sky Carp C'mon, Eduardo, celebrate! When have we seen such a relatively forlorn personal "celebration" crossing home plate and then immediately leading the way into the clubhouse? Chris Mehring describes Garcia's prior at-bat in the 4th in both printed and audio form (with Manager Victor Estevez), a particularly futile attempt, and perhaps Eduardo was still thinking about that. Estevez does indicate he had a dugout chat with Garcia after that 4th inning trip to the plate. 20-year-old southpaw Anthony Flores and 26-year-old Bayden Root were equally impressive and as the highlights show, had some sweet defense behind them (also discussed in the podcast). Final: Fayetteville (Astros) 5, Carolina 1 Box Score and Game Log Mudcats Rally Comes Up Short Could Marco Dinges be part of a catcher promotion shuffle necessitated by the injuries discussed above? Josh Adamczewski still nursing back pain (word has it), and this lineup also lacked Jesus Made and Braylon Payne. It's almost a dizzying effort to keep track of who may (or may not be) nursing minor injuries. The fact that Manager Nick Stanley had backup catcher Yannic Walther as the designated hitter in the nine-spot is an indication of a thin Friday night lineup and bench. Hello, 2024 3rd round RHP Jaron DeBerry, now with 13 K, 1 BB, 1 HBP in 8.2 innings of one-run ball in his three starts as he continues to stretch out. A sweet four innings here...in the interview linked above, Schierholz indicated DeBerry was "banged up" in Maryvale prior to landing in Carolina. Final: ACL Brewers 8, ACL Dodgers 7 Box Score and Game Log Ejections: ACL Brewers manager Rafael Neda ejected by HP umpire Brice McCormick (3rd); ACL Brewers shortstop Jorge Quintana ejected by HP umpire Brice McCormick (5th). OK, so a bit of dispute fireworks in the desert, but another win in the end for the 9-2 Baby Brewers. Tyler Black played left field, he doubled and walked here in a 1-for-2 effort before exiting this, his 2nd rehab game. He played first base in rehab game #1. Jeferson Quero walked as part of an 0-for-3 night, he was the DH after catching two games earlier this week. Did the organization lose a 3rd catcher (Seigler, Rodriguez) to injury on this night? Just-turned 18-year-old Luis Corobo (four DSL HR's in 2024) left after the first inning. The game log indicates there may have been a play at the plate early in the 1st, though Corobo finished the frame and only failed to return after reaching the dugout/clubhouse. The A-Crew held on despite four errors, primarily due to a stellar three-inning relief outing from 20-year-old Venezuelan lefty Jose Meneses. It's a quick turnaround for the T-Rats, as along with Maryvale, they play an afternoon tilt on Saturday. My thanks in advance to my fellow Link Reporter Daniel for switching off Sunday morning as I head out on a brief vacation getaway to northern New Hampshire, from where I'll continue to follow his postings and all things minor-league Brewers on our forum. Former Yankees 1st round pick (26th overall) Anthony Seigler signed with Milwaukee as a minor league free agent in November. He'll turn 26 years old in June. Seigler, an ambidextrous thrower by the way, had provided Nashville major utility prowess, splitting time evenly behind the plate and at second base in 2025. Also, he has been raking: And in an important development with potential big-league implications Friday night's pre-game news gave us this: Then, in remarkably coincidental fashion reaching second base on a hustle double (see the Ramon Rodriguez post just above), Seigler had to remove himself from the Sounds' game in Memphis. This also was not pretty - well, it actually was pretty, up to a point. For those of you with a full MiLB.TV subscription allowing for the viewing of archived games (an MLB.TV subscription provides live viewing only), here's your game link. At the 01:45:20 hour/minute mark, Seigler lines a 2-2 pitch into left-center, not particularly deep, the ball kind of clangs after a hop off the left-fielder's glove, bouncing away for a moment, and in an incredibly exciting play - the Memphis announcer was effusive in praise - Seigler and his flowing locks performs an amazing hands-first dive and slide around the tag at second base. Seigler pumps his left hand in excitement after seeing the umpire's safe call. It was one of the most exhilarating plays I've seen on any level this season. But within seconds, Seigler stands up and is waving for the trainer's assistance. His face is clearly writhing in pain. As Seigler walks off the field to leave the game, his right shoulder is drooping (separation?), and with his healthy left arm, he angrily fires his batting glove into the dugout, seemingly realizing the seriousness of his injury, though it's clearly unfair to speculate fully at this time. The Memphis announcer mentioned a possible wrist injury, though that didn't appear to be the case, as Seigler was not holding his wrist at all. Voice of the Sounds Jeff Hem spoke with Seigler in an interesting interview April 11th. What a frustratingly brutal set of events for Rodriguez and Seigler on this night.

26-year-old Biloxi catcher Ramon Rodriguez had been off to a blistering start over his first 21 games and 81 plate appearances - .359/.457/.484, including a double, single and 3 RBI Friday night. Not easy to watch. For those of you with an MiLB.TV full subscription allowing for the viewing of archived games, go here, and then to the 02:40:10 hour/minute mark, where Rodriguez' at-bat begins, runners on 1st and 2nd, two outs. Rodriguez performs his routine of making the sign of the cross as his at-bat begins. Rodriguez blasts the 1-1 pitch off the base of the wall in right and two runs score, but the camera catches Rodriguez stumbling badly halfway between 1st and 2nd base, managing somehow to reach the bag safely as the throw came into home. From there, Rodriguez is clearly in severe pain and grabbing at the back of his left calf. Obviously much too early to speculate as to the formal diagnosis of a major calf injury or even an Achilles injury. The camera stays with Rodriguez until the 02:42:20 mark before the camera crew focuses on crowd shots and then cuts away. The Montgomery announcer inexplicably refers to Rodriguez' hamstring more than once, when this is clearly a lower leg injury. The broadcast returns at the 02:46:30 hour/minute mark, showing Rodriguez on the back of the cart that takes him off the field. He is assisted off the cart by two trainers and is able to allow his right leg to hop off as his left leg doesn't touch the ground at all. Rodriguez' defense and leadership skills are top-notch. Javik Blake interviewed him on April 30th, a fine young family man (father of three), and that interview is worth a re-visit by you today.

Chris' new Monday pods have been so good, but I will note that at the 16:00 minute mark here, he catches up with Josh Flickinger, Media Relations Manager for the Beloit Sky Carp (Wisconsin's current opponent). Josh was a contributor during the earliest days of Brewerfan.com / Brewerfan.net, and it's great to know he's doing well. -

RHP Jose Nova assigned to Wisconsin Timber Rattlers from ACL Brewers. 2025 only marks Nova's 2nd season of action as a professional, yet the Dominican native already turned 23 years old in April. Nova debuted with 18 relief appearances in 2024, split between Maryvale (11) and Carolina (7). He walked 21 (plus four HBP's, 12 wild pitches) but also fanned 27 in his 24.1 innings, somehow limiting his ERA to 4.81. He was sidelined for ten days in mid-August and was placed on the IL again in mid-September. He has made two appearances with the Arizona Complex squad in the early 2025 season, and has shown enough to jump to Wisconsin at this time. Nova originally signed with Boston in August of 2021 but never pitched for them. He signed with Milwaukee in November of 2023. -

2025 Minor League Transaction Thread

So I went to the archive of Wed.’s game because Murray was removed from the game after drawing a walk in the top of the 2nd, loading the bases. But how and why? Nothing definitive but appeared (perhaps?) he strained an oblique as he looked a tad uncomfortable during his at-bat. He grabbed his left side ever so briefly on the 2-1 pitch. But that is speculation and it could be a lower-body injury for all we know. Not the best detective work, I am aware. The 01:27:00 hour/minute mark for those with an MiLB full subscription allowing for archive viewing. -
