  1. So was there any explanation for Tommy Lasorda showing up in the booth, or does he just randomly come to baseball games across the country making cameo appearances with TV crews? Edit: Nevermind. It's some kind of prostate cancer awareness thing.
  2. Those throws by Clark are hilarious! He looks like a car flying off a cliff! Also, Martinez looked safe. We probably only got the call because the throw beat him by so much.
  3. Helms is so awesome. He makes all the tough plays look impossible.
  4. Apparently Hall doesn't think he's going to homer tonight, because he just used up his home run trot on a routine fly ball.
  5. Alright O!! In other news, Bernie Williams appears to be dragging an anchor behind him right now.
  6. As if the error wasn't bad enough, Cappy has to throw a 3-1 meatball to ARod with 1st base open.
  7. I think getting cash for Spivey might be good enough. Maybe the Yankees have a low or medium prospect in AA that would be acceptable also. Just getting rid of him is all that really matters. People keep saying that having too many players for the infield is "a good problem to have." I think that's a load of crap. It's like John Madden always says: "uh you know uh what I always say, uh uh we think we got two quarterbacks, well then uh you uh, heh, well you uh really got no quarterback then."
  8. Ugh. It's nice of Yost to find plenty of time for Helms and Spivey but not JJ.
  9. Here's his crappy, generic player page: uhcougars.collegesports.com/sports/m-basebl/mtt/roberts_kevin00.html In 2004 he played every position except catcher, 1st, and center.
  10. It might just be that jacket Garza is wearing. He's no bucket-head or anything, but his head looks pretty normal sized in this pic. http://www.fresnobee.com/ips_rich_content/539-bulldogs.jpg
  11. Go here mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/events/draft/y2005/index.jsp and click on one of the "draftcaster" links on the top, right, or middle of the page.
  12. I just got back from the game, I have a few things to add: 1. Randy Johnson is a queen. All kinds of looks at the umpire and extra little walks around the rubber when things don't go his way. The stuff you hear about Johnson and Posada not being on the same page is probably true. Johnson always seems peeved when he steps off or has him come out to the mound. 2. The booing of Sheffield was well up to par. Nice job, fans. There were a lot of Yank fans there, but their cheering was generally drowned out by the boos, whether they were for Yankee players or Moeller screwing up. 3. Bernie Williams should retire. A ball was hit to him, and it was like he never even saw it. 4. They should seriously consider using the replay board to show some replays, not to mention learning how to work the radar gun and firing Sandy Max. 5. Nice catch Jenkins.
  13. Nice job Phelps. Allow all 3 inherited runners to score, but helps his own ERA in the process. Now we get to keep hearing about how great he's been since the first 3 weeks of the season. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif Maybe we can get a bag of peanuts for him at the deadline.
  14. Maybe Melvin will use that expanded payroll to buy us some new announcers.
  15. I don't think Jenkins diving for that ball was a bad play. Both runners might have scored anyway if he let it drop. Obermueller throwing a pitch out to the backstop, now that is a bad play.
  16. Looks like the real Obermueller has come back to replace the imposter we saw a few weeks ago.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/sick.gif
  17. It's nice to get on the board and all, but I'm not a huge fan of the small ball in the 1st inning. How much good does it really do to get it to Carlos and Overbay with nobody on and 2 outs?
  18. We knew this would be a rough road trip, but come on. Can anybody on this team besides Caballo drive in a run?
  19. Please get a hit, Billy. Don't take the Bill Hall 2004 huge swing. Or at least dodge a wild pitch in the dirt or something.
  20. Wow, you really shouldn't dive for that ball Repko. Thanks, buddy.
  21. At least Jenkins made it past 3 pitches that time. I think we're making some real progress here.
  22. I'm pretty sure he was safe. They only had bad camera angles where you couldn't see Drew's foot, but you could see the bag buckle before the throw got there.
