  1. There will probably never be a team that is full of heart. But, without "heart", there are players that would have never made it. Brady Clark could have given up a hundred times by now. David Eckstein was never going to be a good player, he was way too small and everyone could see it. Jim Abbott can't field his position, he only has one hand. You know what, Eckstein has had and Abbott had an excellent career. "Heart" has far more impact on individuals than it has on teams, IMO. But, to think that it doesn't matter in a big league locker room if a player shows "heart" or not is a bit silly too.
  2. We are going to see alot of fastball from Sheets tonight. Maybe he should dust off that changeup a bit too. Agreed. Benny's curveball seems to hang too much in the thin Coors air. Has anyone said that Hart is for sure going back to AAA when Clark is ready? As others have posted, Yost indicated that he expects Corey to stay. So, my question is, when Clark comes back does Magruder get DFA'd or does one of the relievers get sent back down until September? Here's my lineup for tonight: Weeks 2B Hall / Hardy SS (I keep going back and forth on that one) Overbay 1B Lee LF Jenkins RF Hart CF Branyan 3B Moeller C Sheets P
  3. Antoher Sheets squeeze attempt, perhaps?
  4. What happened to Brady?? Did he get hurt bad? This is not good news. I'm trying to follow along online. I see Magruder is now in CF. Is Brady injured?
  5. By the way, what ever happened to that kid Saenz? Tommy John surgery.
  6. I'm looking forward to watching Reyes make his debut tonight. Hopefully the Brewers will greet him rudely. I'm also very interested to see if Davis comes out with some better stuff than he has had lately. His last game out was horrendous. What was it, 7 walks in 3.2 innings? The kind of start that makes you bang your head against the wall - it was like he had taken on the personality of Victor Santos... refuse to battle, and at the first sign of trouble, curl up in the fetal position on the mound.
  7. I cringe when I see him field a ball. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif I can respect that.
  8. He should play the best 8 to begin with. I've been avoiding all the discussion regarding the PH in the 4th... But this takes the cake. You're actually questioning the lineup card? It would be pretty easy to argue that the game would not even be as close as 8-4 had Helms not played. Was it just the decision to start Helms that you are questioning, or are there other positions that were not filled by the best option, too?
  9. Pitching is the reason this game was lost, plain and simple. With an off day coming up on Thursday, its time to skip Victor the next time through the rotation, IMO. He is not getting the job and shows no signs of turning it around any time soon.
  10. 3TO may be able to tie the game in the inning. Still bitter about the Magruder thing. Hmmmm... wouldn't you rather have Branyan now?
  11. Nice inning for Santana... and the big boppers are coming up.
  12. Santos off the hook. Earlier in the year I didn't think Santos deserved his record. Now I believe he has earned every single loss he has. He can't hold a lead. He doesn't handle adversity well. And very importantly IMO, he shows no emotion / has no fire.
  13. Way to go Wes! Who was the poster earlier in the thread that was complaining because "Wes sucks when he starts"?
  14. Was that pitch the same as the previous one or is it just me? Probably just me.
  15. I don't know how that ball got thru into centerfield, but I sure am glad it did. Let's go Jenkins!
  16. Here we go.... Let's do something Carlos.
  17. Can someone explain to Ned that it is very easy to find Magruder's splits and to see he doesn't even reach .200 from the left side? Durrington is a better option than Magruder from the left side. It was the 4th inning. I'm not saying it wasn't an important at bat, but a lot of balls in play would have scored a run there. There are 2 reasons you bat Magruder there: 1. Save Hall and Branyan for later in the game. We all know the Brewers have played a ton of close games where those guys may be needed as defensive replacements and pinch hitters. 2. A strikeout in that situation is a killer. Hall and Branyan are far more likely than Magruder to K. If the ball is put in play, there is a good chance it scores a run. It didn't work out this time, but it was the proper move.
  18. Let's go Brady.... Edit: Brady swinging at the first pitch again.
