  1. Bases drunk with Brewers for Prince... let's get some runs here!
  2. Wow.. where are those pitches missing? Maddux usually gets those called strikes.
  3. Good success in the past vs Maddux. Excluding the pitchers, the Brewers hitters hit at a team clip of .307 (59 for 192) vs Maddux, if my numbers are correct. Of course, Maddux has not been this "on fire" in a while, either. Jenkins... .395 in 38 AB with 1 HR Miller.... .385 in 26 AB Clark... .346 in 26 AB Lee (not so good)... .158 in only 19 AB with 1 HR Jacque Jones is the only Cubs player that has faced David Bush (1 for 5) from his days with the Twins. Advantage Crew?
  4. Why didn't Koskie tag 3rd and throw to first? Because the ball was not hit right to the bag. He made the right play IMO, but a better throw may have helped Rickie. Although, the ball obviously should have been caught.
  5. Matt Wise... what is up? Looks just like he did last time out. Time to start throwing strikes.
  6. Cubs game just went final. After a 6 run 8th inning, the Cubs came back and won that game 6-3.
  7. Jenks hit it hard. Unfortunately right at Francouer. Oh well. C'mon Cappy... hold them right here.
  8. could someone tell me what time the parking lot opens tonight, i wanna say 3 hours before gametime, but i just want to make sure before i head out there. General parking ($7) opens 3 hours before game time. Preferred parking ($12) opens 4 hours before game time. If you are a tailgater, the extra $5 for an extra hour of fun is well worth it, in my humble opinion.
  9. Gross has to go after that ball... that only fell a few (maybe 10) feet in front of him and he slowed up. Down 2 in the 9th, its worth the effort of a dive... if the ball gets by you and the hitter scores, too, oh well.
  10. Great win by the Crew today. It wasn't always pretty, but they hung in and got the job done. Hats off to the bullpen.
  11. Well, I guess 75 pitches turns out to be the magic number. Nice outing by Sheets today. Finishes up with 9 k's in 5.2 IP.
  12. Sheets back out there for the 6th. Looks like 80-85 is the number today.
  13. On the radio broadcast, they are saying his count is 80-85. The article at the Brewers site says 70. We'll see, I guess. 80-85 would make more sense IMO, if the Brewers are expecting him to start the game against the Mets on the 16th. I would think you would want him "stretched out" to a reasonable pitch count where you could conceivably get 6+ innings out of him on the 16th.
  14. 54 pitches thru 4 innings. Hopefully he can get thru one more inning before he hits his 70 pitch limit.
  15. Sheets thru 3 innings scoreless. 3.0 IP, 1 hit, 0 walks, 5 K's. 38 pitches (26 strikes).
  16. Thru 2 innings, Sheets has thrown 30 pitches (19 strikes) and has allowed 1 hit and no walks while strking out 3. Edit: Sorry, I'll put the rest of my comments in the minor league thread.
  17. Big Ben with a 2nd inning line drive single of his own. Nelson Cruz hit a 2-run homer in the 1st inning. Game is 3-0 Sounds in the bottom of the 2nd.
  18. What hurt even worse about yesterday's loss was that the Stros managed to pull out the win in 12. One week into the season, I'm not going to worry too much about what the Astros, Cardinals, and Cubs do on days when the Brewers lose. But, that's just me. I'm not sure if this is appropriate here, but Sheets worked a scoreless one-hit first inning in Nashville's game in Des Moines.
  19. Where the heck is Rickie on that one?
  20. Nothing like putting runners on ahead of Pujols.
  21. No Vinnie at catcher? Does that mean he'll start as catcher in AAA? If they are serious about turning him into a catcher, they really do need to give him an extended run at it. Vinny is going to be the super utility guy at AAA. He'll get some starts and playing time at 3B (primarily), 1B, LF, RF, and C. Huntsville's team looks - how should I say it? - Weak.
  22. Prince Fielder... gone!
  23. Badgers update for those who care: Badger women 3, Gopher women 0 in the 2nd period Wisconsin Men 0, Cornell Men 0 in the 1st period
