  1. I'll probably do that. I didn't see any Webers at Menard's yesterday.
  2. Bought a grill yesterday at Menard's for my sister-in-law and her husband as a sort of house warming present for their new house. Nothing extravagant, just a Charbroil brand charcoal grill that cost about $50. I knew they want to get a gas grill eventually, but figured this could tide them over for a while. I spent a little under two hours putting it together yesterday (by myself). During the process, one of the legs "broke" due to inferior soldering. That wouldn't have been the end of the world, as the grill was still usable. Then I realized whoever put the parts in the box provided hinges for the bottom part of the grill that were an exact match (supposed to be facing inwards toward each other). The result? Impossible to put the top lid on the grill. Needless to say this Chinese made piece of junk will be returned to Menard's when I have a chance to get back to Janesville.
  3. Very interesting. I wonder how much trade value he has at this point. Probably not a ton, I'd think.
  4. Folks, I found out the Fitchburg Great Dane's back room is reserved next Saturday. Looking for alternative ideas, or we could still go there, but not have a private room. We'll make this happen one way or another.
  5. Yep...hopefully I will have things confirmed today sometime. Once I know everything I'll update.
  6. Very cool!
  7. OK, that's awesome. With my wife and I, that's at least six, but I'm sure we'll have plenty more. The person I need to talk to at the Great Dane in Fitchburg will hopefully be getting back to me tomorrow (she's off today). I figured that would be a good area as it should be away from any potential craziness in Madison with any protests and the basketball tourney happening. Also it's pretty accessible even to people coming from the Milwaukee area (if they wish to make the trek).
  8. A small update: I've made contact with the Great Dane in Fitchburg and hoping to get further details soon. I would really like to start getting some feedback from members here soon to make sure this is going to be worthwhile.
  9. Yeah, I saw that as well. Nice mention.
  10. Really? You find those beers "bitter?" Stay away from IPAs. Maybe you should try something sweeter like Honeyweis or something. Otherwise maybe you're just not a beer drinker.
  11. My guess is any extra budget room is being saved for a possible mid-season acquisition at this point. That would fit with how they've operated under Attanasio.
  12. I'm slightly optimistic. .270/.320/.375 with 15 homers and 30 stolen bases.
  13. Latest word is that Marcum doesn't feel it's serious and would have pitched through it if it was during the regular season. Hopefully the Brewers dodged a bullet here.
  14. Guys, JJ has been sick and asked me to make some calls, which I will be doing today. I will try the Great Dane locations around Madison first. Realistically, I'm thinking next Saturday (March 26) would be the best day to have this event (which I realize is short notice). I assume around 7 PM would be a good time to tentatively schedule it? Can I get a sense of who would think they would be able to attend? I know we could get anywhere from 10-20 people, but if only five or so are going to show up, it's kind of pointless to reserve a private room.
  15. Starting your hand with two aces is called "pocket aces" in poker, like jj alluded to.
  16. Please tell me that was just someone misplacing a decimal. Or is someone that delusional?
  17. He really doesn't have great career numbers (career ERA above 5.00), but I suppose for the low cost he could be worth a look at least.
  18. The Brewers don't seem to have been considering Loe as a starter at all, and I agree with their decision. Loe belongs in the bullpen and has excelled there. Why mess with success?
  19. *cough* Still one spot left. Should be fun... Send me your email for an invite... *cough*
  20. That's too bad to hear. I wonder if the Brewers should be upping security a little bit outside the stadium?
  21. Another great Ryan Braun quote from yesterday: "Honestly, I'd love to spend my entire career (in Milwaukee)."
  22. Andrew Gruman (via Twitter) says Gindl crashed into the fence trying to play the ball and is hurt.
  23. I still hold out some sliver of hope that this will be the season Gomez puts it all together, finally. This could very well be Cameron's last season, so I think this trade idea would be bad for the Crew.
  24. Who was the pitcher who nearly severed a finger trimming hedges? I remember reading about that years ago.
