    This random/pointless/dumb thought popped into my head while watching the NBA playoffs this year: In the 2004 film Troy with Brad Pitt, there is a big epic one-on-one fight scene between Pitt's Achilles and Eric Bana's Hector. When they actually start fighting each other, the FIRST move that Achilles does towards Hector is basically a Euro Step. Ha.

    Sorry if somebody's already posted this, but David Fry leads all of the Minors and also the Majors in doubles right now with 26. Thought that was sorta cool. The only reason I know this is because while looking at the most recent box score, I noticed it showed he hit his 26th of the season and I thought it must have been a mistake.

    Sorry for my ignorance of the rules, but we might have to decide if we are going to be considering Brett Phillips a rookie/prospect being under 150 PAs, as well as Freddy Peralta and Taylor Williams being under 50 IPs, correct? You could make an argument that all 3 have sort of moved past prospect status even though they all might be under the thresholds as of August 1st. Just thinkin' ahead a bit...

    Buddy Reed went to Florida, right? I don't think he was a teammate of Corey Ray's. Unless they played together on some USA team or something... I think Demi Orimoloye's OPS is wrong too. Thanks for doing all of this reillymcshane. Much appreciated.

    I thought it was sort of an interesting opinion in the SI article linked by ZBTMP in the first posting of this thread that there are 5 college pitchers for next year who would have been picked in front of any college pitcher this year. That means potentially 5 college pitchers in next year's draft better than AJ Puk, who was picked 6th overall. Definitely seems like the initial strength of next year's draft class - and perhaps reiterates the weakness of this year's...

    Alec Hansen's first start after being moved to the bullpen was on Sunday against Kansas State. 6 IP, 9 Ks, 1 BB, 2 hits, 0 ERs.

    Just for argument's sake, what do people think of Mickey Moniak and would you consider him over Blake Rutherford? Moniak is 11+ months younger, has a really sweet swing from the left side, and might have a better chance at sticking in CF than Rutherford - Moniak seems to have a little bit more range. Also, Rutherford is going to be 19 in May, so he's been old for his class - does that concern anyone? I'd just like to hear some takes on this since I'm trying to decide who I like better.
