  1. Agreed on Meyers Leonard. I did not care for what I saw the handful of times I watched him last season. He always seemed fatigued to me too. I like Tyler Zeller more. Concerning Austin Rivers, he's clearly very talented. I'm probably just a little biased against him because of the times that I watched him, I just wasn't impressed - poor shot selection, forcing the action, didn't seem to be very interested in playing off of his teammates and distributing the ball. I also question his scoring ability inside the 3 point line - he seemed a little wild and has a fairly low 2pt FG% and FT%. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean he will be a bad NBA player, but I just didn't like what I saw out of him at Duke. He was just a Freshman though... The more I think of it, the more I lean towards Dion Waiters and Jeremy Lamb. Both could very easily be gone before the Bucks pick though...
  2. The Bucks drew the 12th pick in the NBA Draft. Any guys that you are interested in? Here are a few guys I sort of like based loosely on if they will be available. 1st Round Pick: -Dion Waiters - SG - Syracuse -Jeremy Lamb - SG - UConn -Tyler Zeller - C - North Carolina -Terrence Ross - SG/SF - Washington -Terrence Jones - PF - Kentucky -Royce White - PF - Iowa St. 2nd Round Pick: -Will Barton - SG - Memphis -Scott Machado - PG - Iona -Jae Crowder - SF - Marquette -DJO - SG - Marquette

  4. The only college impact bats that I'm even a little intrigued by with the Brewers first 3 picks of who would be available are Victor Roache and Tyler Naquin. It's hard to ignore Roache's power potential even though he was hurt this season. And Naquin seems like more of your natural hitter who is having an excellent season - he looks pretty comfortable in the box. I think I would be OK with one of those guys perhaps (probably not both though), but am not completely sold. At one point a while ago it seemed like Richie Shaffer might be there with the Brewers picks, but I don't think that's the case anymore. There are other college hitters who might be worth a look with the Brewers' first 3 picks, but none that seem like impact bats.
  5. I think I may just be echoing the general consensus, but I'm just not super excited about any of the High School pitchers in this draft. When I look at various mocks and who I think is going to be available with the Brewers first 3 picks, I find myself leaning towards the High School bats (mostly OFs but a few nice IFs). I know that lines up with the Brewers organizational weaknesses, so I hope that is not influencing my leanings.
  6. A few questions on some of the college guys: -Is Matthew Reckling-RHP-Rice an option with one of the Brewers first 3 picks? He's a Senior (potentially easier sign), pitching for a major program, with some nice strikeouts rates the last 2 years, who has also cut down on his walks by quite a bit from last year. -Sort of in the same vein, but how about James Ramsey-OF-Florida St.? He's a Senior as well, bats from the left side, and has done nothing but hit the last 2 years with very good power. -Has Deven Marrero's-SS-Arizona St. struggles at the plate this year bounced him out of the 1st round yet? Or is his defense that good and his bat that projectible that he remains worthy of a 1st round pick? Depending on the answers to some of these questions, I'm curious if any of these guys are worth one of the Brewers first 3 picks.
  7. jhart05, do you know when Tony Meier is going to be back?
  8. Yeah, my name is Jared too. Between Jared from Subway and Jared the Galleria of Jewelry, the name is ruined... Anyways, nice starts for both Wisconsin and Marquette. Like every year, this Marquette team plays hard and is not going to be an easy out for anybody. They can get a little sloppy at times though and I still worry about their 3 point shooting. But they have some interesting depth, size, and athleticism this year and I can't question their effort. Quite an intriguing match-up between Marquette and Wisconsin this year. The following players have taken more field goal attempts than Jordan Taylor so far this year even though Taylor leads the team in minutes: Jared Berggren - 40 Ben Brust - 38 Ryan Evans - 34 Mike Bruesewitz - 29 Jordan Taylor has 28. This distribution will undoubtedly change, but I found it sort of interesting. It will be nice to see the Badgers play some non-terrible teams soon. Did anybody catch our old buddy Jeronne Maymon's 2OT performance against Memphis last night? 32 points and 20 rebounds. He's had a really nice start to the season. I'm sure his dad is very proud.
  9. Yeah, at least early on here it looks like Bo Ryan is settling in with Brust, Wilson, and Kaminsky being the first guys off the bench. But as Glennron alludes to, Brust could end up being a quasi-starter anyways because he'll end up getting a ton of minutes - he just won't be on the floor for the jump ball to start the game. Kenpom just became a pay site starting with this season. I gladly paid the fee - I love looking at that stuff. I always felt a little guilty anyways it was out there for free in previous years.
  10. The consensus seems to be North Carolina and Kentucky as the front-runners for the National title. Both teams returned some really good talent (with a few surprises spurning the NBA Draft). I would say that perhaps UConn, Ohio St., and Duke sort of seem like the next tier. Any thoughts on some Final Four "sleepers" beyond that? I'm actually pretty interested to see what Marquette and Wisconsin can do this year. Marquette returns some pretty key guys and I'm curious to see how Wisconsin handles the departures of Leuer and Nankavil. Somebody always steps up... Milwaukee seems like they could be one of the top 4 or so teams in the Horizon as well. They don't have great size down low, but they returned some decent guys and got some transfer guys who are going to have an immediate impact. A handful of my "deep sleeper" teams that I've got my eye on to maybe make nice runs are in no particular order: Cincinnati (maybe not a deep sleeper but whatever), St. Louis, Wichita St., Drexel, and Kent St. to name a few.
  11. Wow. Thank you Mass. I had always been a lifelong Brewers fan, but when I moved to Milwaukee about 7 years ago, my fandom really amped up mostly due to the Minor League forum. I really didn't know anything about the Minor Leagues at that point, and I was (and still am) blown away by all the content made available on this site. And I've checked every single link from that day forward. Fantastic work, professionalism, consistency, dedication, etc. Thank you Mass and best wishes to you, your family, and your future.
  12. How can something be written in the stars a million miles away when the nearest star is something like 90+ million miles away? What stars and a million miles away from what? If you want to write something in the stars, a million miles away isn't going to cut it.
  13. Ryan Doumit's eyes freak me out...sorry if it's already been said.
  14. Prince needs 44 more hits to get to his career 1,000th hit. I know it's sort of stupid and arbitrary, but I want to see Prince get his 1,000th hit as a Brewer. At his current rate, it's probably going to be very close. Purple Reign, baby...go Prince.
  15. Another tough sign that signed was Daniel Norris for the Blue Jays as well.
  16. Runs Allowed for the Brewers through 120 games in 2011: 497Runs Allowed for the Brewers through 120 games in 2010: 641
  17. In case you want to see what Amy Winehouse looked like right after the release of Frank about 7 years ago or so: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1iu52L9mUk Beautiful, sweet, talented, shockingly unique and soulful voice... What happened between that interview and her death is both scary and sad.
  18. Is there anything out there that could give the following: With runners on base, what percentage of ground-outs/pop-outs/fielders choices actually move a runner over/advance the runner (s) who were on base? Including Sacrifice Flies but NOT including Sacrifice Bunts. And could you get this by Player? This is basically a Productive Outs question while swinging away - so I'm not including bunts. Maybe this is an impossible question, but I'm not all that great with finding this kind of stuff, so I thought I would throw it out there.
  19. Does anybody have any idea what Summer Leagues any of these guys are in? Are any of these guys playing right now? I did a quick look through the stats for each team in Cape Cod League today, but I didn't see any Brewers draftees - but I could have easily missed somebody.
  20. Mat the Batt just hit a home run off some pitcher named Jeremy Jeffress.
  21. It was an interesting time to be in Boston. We walked through Boston Common just after the Stanley Cup parade ended on Saturday. There was a very drunk and shady element in the park during this time. We got heckled a bit by some of these clowns. There were a handful of dudes too who wanted to engage in talking about how awesome their city has been at sports over the last 10 years (they've no doubt had an awesome run). I just nodded, smiled, and congratulated them on the Stanley Cup. All in all though, the vast majority of their fans were cool, if not somewhat surprised that there were as many Brewers fans as there were. The fans we sat by were great. Fenway is really cool to see (I went a few years ago too when the Brewers were there last time). The seats were a tad uncomfortable for a big guy like myself, but the stadium had a nice clean, classic feel to it. It's a lot more interesting to visit than Wrigley in my opinion.
  22. I think Hunter started out the year playing 3rd base, so I think that accounts partially for the high error total. According to baseballreference, Morris has 11 Errors in 39 games at 1B and 2 Errors in 6 games as 3B:http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=morris001hun
