  1. I figured that, just dreaming. Considering his contract (which he's worth) and the comp it's a no way deal. Made has played SS so far almost exclusively but I think Pratt is the long term commitment there, moving Made to 3rd. Williams to 2nd if we can not sign Turang long term, or if we do one of Williams or Pratt traded. That is a very desirable future infield.
  2. Yeah, I know. Maybe Ashby instead of Koenig ? Hate to lose him though. Might have to include Pena or Quero. Made off the table.
  3. All guys mentioned will require major comp. The only one that really intrigues me is the least likely, Bobby Witt Jr. I know he's not available but if he were for the right return what would that return be? Jett Williams, Brady Ebel, Luis Lara, Tyson Hardin and Jared Koenig? Too much? Too little?
  4. I hope the ceiling is not set for Mitchell, but I have my doubts. Tommy Boy and the rest of the staff either finds the right adjustments physically and mentally for Mitchell to improve at the plate or what we have seen is what you're going to get. Ortiz plays SS because of his All Star defensive ability, Perkins is about equal in CF. Mitchell is a good defensive outfielder, but he is not Perkins.
  5. Made is prime for a long term contract in the not so far future. My hope is that Turang agrees to one and very soon....

  7. The team manager ultimately is in control here. Set the per inning precedent and make it very clear.
  8. I'm a big Sal fan but the production must turn soon....I believe it will.
  9. Let's face it, as of right now they don't have a better option. Megill either finds his groove or one of either Zerpa or Uribe suddenly does. Right now go with the flow with no better choice available...
  10. I figured between Pratt and Made we were looking at 3B and SS. I do believe a serious attempt will be made to retain at least one of Frelick and Turang.
  11. Made will likely also be extended in near years as well. I like it, it is what the small market team who has all the numbers against them in favor of the big market teams must do. Along with trading for quality young arms who you can control for years because these small market teams can not afford them once they are free. It is a big market team game. Now I would like Frelick and Turang addressed, but that may not be possible.
  12. They gave up a young pitcher I saw start in Appleton in KC Hunt. Hunt pitched beyond expectations.
  13. Hoping one of Black or Mitchell plays well enough to provide trade value at some point, at least in a package. I'm afraid we're going to need starting pitching help both sooner and later.
  14. Wonder if they indeed are working on a long term deal with Made as they did with Chourio...?
  15. He is a great young player and will play in the league for a very long time. Guys like he and Turang are players even a small market team like the Brewers must find a way to keep and build around.
  16. Put me down for don't like. Maybe he has a red hot spring training but so does somebody else and we can move him.
  17. I never for a minute thought Quero would start the year with the Brewers or will be with the big club soon this year. He NEEDS to play and play near every day. His development is not over. This is a good move to bring veteran competition in at the bench sitting spot behind our starter.
  18. I hope he's healthy and has a big spring. At some point soon I hope he's worth something real in a trade. So I guess no would be my answer, not long term anyway.
  19. MLB is a joke and will continue to be until the gross disparity in this fixed league is seriously addressed. The Dodgers receive roughly 300 million per year MORE in TV revenue than the Brewers do. With no cap like the NFL has and a joke of a "revenue sharing" "lux tax" program. It is becoming unwatchable.
  20. SS is the natural position for Jett but long term he may become our starter in CF. I would bet he'll start the year at AAA but if Ortiz's struggles at the plate continue Jett will be brought up to start at SS if his bat is connecting there. He is a patient hitter who walks and steals bases. He also has some real power, in MLB it should be plenty of gap power and maybe more HR production than expected. I've seen it said at the plate he's a right handed Sal. Sproat has a real chance to be really good and soon. Both players with long term control and we'll see both with the big club at some point this year. It simply was all we were going to get for Freddy, although too bad we had to include TM.
  21. Said from the beginning I'd trade Peralta but not for a fair value deal. I'd want more. Could be the case and I'm great with it.
  22. The only way I trade Freddy right now is with a plus deal. We can get a good deal for him in July, it must be a great deal now. I'd be willing to risk not trading him then because of contention and accepting the comp pick when he signs elsewhere.
  23. No. To me Pratt and Made are off the table for the most part. Let's face it you have to talk about anybody, but I'm not going to get enough to move either of those two. I don't want to move Pena either but I would before either of those other two.
