  1. Nice 11-pitch walk, Brady! Now that's the leadoff man doing his job.
  2. Yeah, the only way it can be heard well is to use powered speakers that will amplify your computer's sound. When they 'black out' for MLB, they just turn the volume really low.
  3. Shhhh - you didn't hear it from me, but tune in to WTMJ's live stream here, plug some speakers into your PC and turn the volume WAY up. You may be pleasantly surprised. By the way, I stream TMJ through iTunes - you don't have to use that awful thing TMJ wants you to download. Now... go Brewers! Beat those Memphis Redbirds!
  4. Another silver lining - after tomorrow, STL is going to go 90 miles south and do the same thing (or probably worse) to the scrubs. Always look on the bright side of life, see...
  5. OK, Marquis comes in and gets a pinch hit - I'm starting to accept that it may not be our night. The sun will come out tomorrow though - Sheets has to do his job as an ace and stop the skid. They ripped Suppan last time they faced him, let's see if they can do it again.
  6. We need a miracle here... can the top of the order do it in bottom 9?
  7. How great would it be to light up Tavarez here? Oh, wait, the game's over, my mistake.
  8. Thanks to Angel Hernandez and his liquid strike zone for this inning. Blahh. Today ref is totally imcompetent!
  9. Yeah Billy! 2-1 and counting, Milwaukee!
  10. All threats of violence and pronouncements of wildcard chances being over aside, here are my thoughts... - Eveland should have been pulled exactly when he was. Yes he was dealing but bringing the PH up is a no-brainer in that situation. Besides, they're limiting his innings, remember this team's #1 job is working toward '06 and beyond, not wearing out the young arms in an attempt to make this the year. - I normally defend Yost's in-game calls (face it folks, nearly every hitter is going to get out more often than he doesn't and it's easy to second-guess Ned on that) but Magruder was not the right man there. The bases were loaded, and those runs count just as much in the 4th as they do in the 9th. Especially since he's hitting left-handed. - STL is the best team in baseball. Their W/L record doesn't lie. The injury bug has hit them hard this year and I don't think you can say they have a second team (or a crap team as it was so eloquently put earlier). - I'm a little worried about Wise. On the other hand, rest seems to have done Santana some good, he looked sharp tonight and was hitting an honest 96-97 on the gun. I like our chances the next two nights. The Crew can still take this series.
  11. Oh my! That, friends, was a draining experience. On to Philly!
  12. One more out. Come on. Come on.
  13. 2 outs to go, kids, before the liquor and beer merchants of Wisconsin notice a sudden spike in sales.
  14. NY fans have definitely raised booing to an art form... then again, it's on to Philly next, where Billy Wagner gets booed if he's only hitting 98-99 on the radar gun...
  15. Just sayin', venting or not, seeing things like this early in a game thread on a day like today... well, as of the middle of the 9th we can laugh about it...
  16. Might not even be T-Bow Time! Could be mop-up duty for JDLR or Wise... 12-9! At least the offense comes to play when the pitching is down & out.
  17. PUT THE DOG DOWN DAMIAN!! YEAH!
  18. Cmon Jenks make it 5 for 5!
  19. Man, watching the gamecast is killing me. Cmon O Edit - so weird seeing small ball in a 9-8 game with 31 hits!
  20. Mets bullpen has Bob Hernandez (in now, 40yo power pitcher in 3rd straight HOT weather game, let's get him), Looper (probably not available after last 2 nights), and Jose Santiago. I think that's it...
  21. Where's that thread about Santana being overworked again? That seems relevant here... I loathed the guy in spring training, was shocked when he made the team, and he actually converted me wiith some 95 mph and he was reasonably effective... The bottom seems to have fallen out, he needs some time in AAA to get back on his feet. I wouldn't say he should be pumping gas in Latin America (sheesh) but he needs to do something besides being Yost's go-to 7th/8th inning guy for a while.
  22. Heilman is nasty. These finesse guys kill the Brewers every time. bucksman, Ralph hit the nail on the head. Everyone here has criticism and reservations about the team. Your def. of holding the team to 'high standards' seems to involve being temperamental and impulsive - if any manager operated that way more than a small % of the time, he'd be a dismal failure and a laughingstock.
  23. Edit: This space intentionally left blank - several posters faster than me said it better than me.
