  1. JimH5, you absolutely nailed the cheese of the 80's. "Where's the Beef?" "What you talkin' bout Willis?" "Who shot J.R.?" The J.R. Ewing cliffhanger had to be the biggest in TV history, it was a topic on the national news!
  2. Honestly, another thread where the only people posting are talking about how they don't care at all about the topic. Those Duels are hilarious "car crash" television where the cast members don't seem to realize how much they are embarassing themselves and their families. Oh but wait, that channel doesn't play videos anymore so I don't care about it. Because I love music videos.
  3. Kessler's ads are gross. The one that gets me to automatically change the dial is the 1250 WSSP homemade commercial for Derzon & Menard. A bad actor trying to do an over the top "Redneck" character. It's so awful.
  4. I love your site Colby, nice job - very clean looking. Prospect question for you - BA's most recent draft tracker says Matzek is the best prep pitcher in the country, I see you currently have 2 prep arms ranked higher. Can you give us an idea of what you like better in the other 2 guys? Thanks,
  5. Do The Right Thing comes to mind, not just because it probably opened a lot of doors for other films and actors, but i thought Lee's style was totally different. I would say The Godfather only because I'll bet 70% of people working in film would list it as having influenced them.
  6. If Pitt is in this and gives half effort, it will be either better, or funnier (or both) than anything Steve Martin, Eddie Murphy, or Martin Lawrence have done in ten years. The book Moneyball has been discussed again and again (and I love the discussion/debate), but I think the movie would show a guy who is a renegade, to use the parlance of our times. Many of the guys named in the book were not players Beane thought were the BEST players in the draft. It named guys they could afford with a small draft budget, and that were being undervalued by other teams. The smugness of Beane, the writer, Morgan, and others on the fringe of this story is what could make it a hilarious movie. I really hope it gets made.
  7. Foo Fighters - Everlong
  8. The way he ended it with the story about the Elephant swimming was hilarious. He is always great, and seems to take his time with his projects, always quality.
  9. How did people survive 50 yrs ago? Fox, or whomever, can't wait three/two extra days in October? Yes they can, they already include silly, off travel days. This is panic over nothing, there is no way Houston should have to play these games in Milwaukee, any one who knows anything about the details knows this would be Houston giving up three crucial home games to play at Chicago.
  10. When will we know if the awful FSN North/Wisconsin will actually show us the night game of the Brewers double header Sunday?
  11. I'm bringing nothing to a really good thread about those two young players, but looking at the Helena box score everyday I got this image of Master Han from Enter The Dragon standing on the top step commanding "Komatsu - ATTACK!" A great Brewers victory and a little juice will do that sometimes
  12. The Stars are at it again, didn't they rough up Cubs prospect Donnie Veal earlier this season as well?
  13. I don't ever want to see Gamel in the two spot, this guy is not Chris Burke. He's somewhere between Mark Teahan and Alex Gordon. I doubt Fielder, LaPorta, and Gamel can ever play together, so this will be an interesting next 3 seasons for those guys - or us fans.
  14. Bringing up Gagne's contract? The Brewers are in kind of a "win now" mode. After losing Cordero, you have to take a chance on someone who has been there, or leave it to the scrap heap of the world. I've got no problem with Gagne's one year deal, I'd like to know what happened to the loan Gerry Colangelo(sp) got from MLB to build a Yankee killer. It must be nice to get a bail out when you're in one of the richest cities in the world.
  15. A True Labor of Love - always appreciate Colby, and Mass, and The Automator (It's 3030) and on and on... Power Arms win the biggest games, so Here's to some power arms on 6/5
  16. If it's been mentioned I apoligize, but to me, I don't ever want to see the Damien Miller/Mike Rivera/Joe Dillons of the world ever play at first for us ever again. To me it seems a waste to not have Corey Hart and /or Gross ready to step in at first. Yes it should only be for the 2 games a season Prince gets the day off, but it never made sense to see Hart( who can play first) or even Gross on the bench while Miller was wasting innings out there. If Prince pulls a hammy and has to sit for two weeks, I want Hart at first and Gross in right, or vice versa, no Eric Munson/ Mike Rivera dudes ot there. It would not take much for Corey to be proficient there again, and yet I don't think it's ever crossed Ned's mind.
  17. Great thread, Underrated : Talking baseball, not typing on here (an incredible site) but finding enough people to sit around with, and say "If we have so and so, that's better than having so and so" and it just builds from there. BBQ Ribs, Milwaukee has almost everything but enough BBQ. DVR - can not be overrated The fact that most everyday thirdbasemen can usually barehand a bunt on the charge, and get the guy at first by a step. It happens all the time, and it is the essence of being a pro, it looks routine. University of Wisconsin football walk-ons Being able to throw out a base stealer/ hold one on
  18. Hearing the lame joke repeated about "If the Brewers and Devil Rays or Royals were using steroids, they should ask for their money back." Or, "They must have gotten the small market steroids." Boooring, Boooring, Boooring...
  19. The questions about Millledge started in high school I think, after his junior year he was considered about the best player in H.S., but by the draft after his senior year, he had already gone so "Hollywood", or developed such an attitude, that teams were scared off.
  20. This is not much to go on, I heard a song at the beginning of CSI Miami last night (I can't defend why I was watching it) that I have heard a little bit recently. It's a dance song that sounds like a bunch of kids singing about A-B-C and something, it's not the Jackson 5. It almost seems like it might be a jump-rope song put to a beat, I don't know, if anyone has a guess on title, artist, thanks.
  21. If he actually signs this thing could go to 50 pages and 50,000 views, (cue Joey Lawrence "whoa")
  22. 'lube job' huh, what a cute way of looking at it... so lame
  23. So who are all the college mid infielders and relievers that the Blue Jays will be loading up on in the comp and 2nd rnds ?
  24. I thought this from a rotoworld link was pure comedy: If the Giants choose not to re-sign him, Barry Bonds won't be picky about where he spends 2007, agent Jeff Borris said.
