  1. Biggest come from behind win in Orioles history. What an entertaining game to watch!
  2. Is anyone watching the Boston/Baltimore game? The Orioles just came back from being down 10-1, scoring 10 runs in two innings (the 7th and the 8th) to take the lead. Wonder what fan graphs had to say about this game. Wow. Edit: Before the comeback, fangraphs gave the Orioles a .3% chance of winning the game. Fun!
  3. The app just had an update, and now the live video feeds works. Awesome!!!!!
  4. Here is a trade happening in my league, let me know what you all think: Pujols, Fielder, J. Lopez and Brian Wilson for Youk, Dunn, Uggla, Carpenter, Price, and Bedard. What do you guys think? Who is getting the best deal?
  5. This has to stick in the Cubs craw. I´m sure they love the fact that the "one who got away" is now playing for their biggest rivals. Also, I wouldn´t put it past the Cards to include Wallace, since they are likely going to get a type A pick for DeRosa. Assuming he remains healthy and someone signs him.
  6. Agreed, to an extent. If those who use actually care about those people in Mexico, they would be best served to refrain from smoking it until it is made legal. In the meantime, they can pour all the time and money they´d spend getting high on working toward that legalization. But to say how horrible it is that this is happening because it is illegal, and then purchasing it and smoking it anyway (trying to pass off all the guilt on the government) just doesn´t fly because one is responsible for one´s actions and the outcome of those actions. As far as where the marijuana sold in WI comes from, I´d want to be 100% sure that it was from Canada and not from Mexico. Any amount of doubt would (and should) plague my conscience. But then again, can anyone be 100% sure where it comes from if they didn´t grow it themselves? Better to be safe, and not risk supporting countless murders, than to not consider it and be guilty of supporting those who are killing countless people. I agree that legalization makes sense (to a certain extent) when it comes toward reducing the violence here in Mexico, however I can´t and won´t personally be in favor of such legalization for moral and religious reasons (which is for another thread on another board). And considering the fact that Jeffress is living in Huntsville and Brevard County (and not in Wisconsin), is there any doubt where his weed is coming from? And what the money he´s paying for it is going to support?
  7. Jeffress is beyond stupid on this. He knew the consequences yet toked his future millions away. For all those who say Weed is harmless, maybe you should come down here to Mexico and live down here for a while. Live among the families of the tens of thousands killed this year alone, killed by people who are funded by those who "harmlessly use weed". While weed remains illegal, people who buy and smoke weed are supporting the killing of thousands upon thousands of Mexicans. Just tonight, a family that was touched by the violence asked me why Americans ignore the violence and continue to smoke weed as if it harms no one. I was left speechless about what to say to them. I finally decided to apologize for my fellow citizen´s stupidity and lack of consideration for anyone but themselves. Now, if it is made legal, that could all change and weed could be bought without it turning into "blood money". But while it remains illegal, people should not be using it. Those who continue to do so are responsible for the violence that is taking lives down here (the metropolitan area of my city alone, a city about the size of Milwaukee, has 27 murders a day so far this year). (Not so harmless, when you take all that into consideration). It´s mindblowing, how some can care so much for animals, or how their actions effect global warming, but ignore how their seemingly "harmless" actions are leading to the deaths of thousands of human beings. Fathers (just like yours dieing because of money made from weed). Mothers (like yours). Sons (like yours). Daughters (like yours). All dieing because of a "harmless" habit.
  8. There is a big difference though in messing around with the fans (like you describe Griffey doing), it is fun to have players who interact with the fans in that way. However there is a big difference between chatting or smack talking back and forth and showing an obscene gesture to them.
  9. Well you all are entitled to your opinions, I am entitled to mine. If I see Prince as a hot head, and look forward to the day when I no longer have to cheer for him, that is my prerogative. You have to admit though, of all the players on the team, he has the hottest head. That video shows that after the shove, Prince throws his hands at Parra´s face (it wasn´t a clenched fist punch, but it was clearly meant to cause pain). I should add, I´ve cruised back over a month in the Doorman´s blog, and so far, the only person who he mentions as cussing him out or responding to him negatively is AJ P. (CWS catcher). No surprise there, he´s a hot head as well!
  10. Oh yeah, I forgot the instances where telling someone to "suck it" is a ´good´ thing. My mistake. The Parra instance is one that stands out (I know some Prince "fans" want to give him a pass on that one, but throwing punches at your own teammate, no matter what they did is without question out of line.) There are a couple of other isolated incidents that occur to me (one against the Astros, but I forget the exact circumstances). Also the incident where he was suspended for three games for bumping an umpire. He seems to be one who struggles to maintain his "cool", that has been noted by many on this site. This hand gesture incident is only the latest example of it.
  11. If it was just this one action, then yes. Trouble is, it´s just one of a number of things that shows him to be a hot head. It´s a reputation he´s earned as far as I´m concerned. While I appreciate the offense he gives our team, I will not shed a tear when he moves on.
  12. Like I said, if they want to direct such intensity and emotion in how they go about actually playing the game, that´s one thing. Making a gesture toward someone not even involved in the game itself, that is crossing a line. Baseball games, like it or not, are still a family event. Inappropriate hand and body gestures have no place. I would have actually considered a game suspension for such vulgarity as being completely defensible. I think it speaks a lot to Prince´s character that he would allow the heckling of some idiot fans get under his skin. Why, after how many years he´s been in the league and been heckled probably everywhere he goes, does he even listen to what the opposing fans think? This only confirms for me the fact that Prince is indeed a hot head. He is not the type of player that I am happy that I have to cheer for. Do we really think that Prince could handle the constant heckling he would get, were he to be come a Yankee someday? Play the game on the field, let your emotions out there, and ignore the fans that heckle you. Most players can do that just fine. It´s the rare few that can´t seem to figure that out, and end up getting into trouble.
  13. Baseball should stay on the field as that is where the game is played, the fans play no part in the outcome of the game. A player ought not make obscene gestures at people in the crowd. How is this any different than a player flipping off a person in the crowd. Both are classless and neither ought to happen. And two strawman arguments in a row, does that break a board record?
  14. I am embarrassed as a Brewers fan about what Prince did. It is extremely unclassy and idiotic. You are a professional baseball player, you ought to take heckling in stride (and not go telling annoying fans to...well, you know. I was flabbergasted that someone would honestly give "props" for such a classless gesture.
  15. Amazing! I´m very jealous. Wish it was working down here in Mexico.
  16. Just an update, I got an email from the programmers for the app, and they said that many international sites are having issues with the new update (not being able to locate, and then automatically blacked out). They said they hope to resolve the problem in the near future, but did not give me any sort of timetable (so I imagine it isn´t the highest priority for them as us out of the country folk are probably a small minority of those who own the app). I´ll be back in WI in late August, so at least I´ll be able to use it when I get back (although at that point, I can just watch the Brewers on Cable).
  17. Nice to see him starting at 3b today. Also good to see him score our team´s first run!
  18. The guy is a rookie, give him time to settle in to the big leagues. Most rookies struggle when they get brought up (we´ve been spoiled in having Braun and Fielder rake from the start). I mean, even Wieters is hitting poorly to start his big league career. It isn´t fair to the rookie to expect him to step in and perform at their top level from day one.
  19. Ugh, I was so excited about this seeing as how I´m out of the country and would really enjoy receiving video of the games. So I go out last night and purchase the 3.0 OS and hope on today, and.... Location Error (At Bat is having trouble verfying your current location. Make sure your cellular or wi-fi service is on and that you are allowing location checks in At Bat.) 1. Clearly if I can post on here, and do everything else on the the app, the problem isn´t that my wi-fi isn´t on. 2. I did allow MLB At-Bat access to my location. So....what do/can I do to solve this problem. Is it possible that it only recognizes computers in the US? Because if that is the case, they didn´t make that clear anywhere. What a complete bummer of a situation.
  20. Well, considering his BABIP was over .400 last year, is anyone really surprised that he´s dropped off a lot this year? Add on top of that his character issues, and the signing was quite a bad one for the Cubs.
  21. Wow, Halladay, Peavy and Bedard all get hurt over the same weekend. As someone already said, Cliff Lee just became a very popular guy.
  22. According to mlbtraderumors.com, the Angels are making him available in a trade. Getting Napoli would be awesome. Last year he hit 20 HRs in a little over 200 ABs. He is on his way to another 20+ HR season this year. My understanding is that he is not considered a great defensive catcher, perhaps a bit below average mostly due to his recent shoulder surgery. But he has a very solid bat, and has an OPS this year of .829 I think Napoli would be a great person to target in a trade. He gives us another solid middle of the order bat, and bringing him in would limit the amount of starts that Kendell would get. He has two more years after this season before he becomes a free agent, which would allow us to slowly bring our young prospect catchers along. The only question is, how much would Napoli cost? Strangely, it seems the Angels organization is not as high on him as his career .850 OPS would lead you to believe that he deserves. Perhaps a swap of Napoli for Salome would be good for both teams, as Salome would be an option as a DH if he can´t cut it at catcher. We would certainly have to add another mid-range prospect to the deal. What do you all think? Is there a match here?
  23. How does one go about getting "contacts", I totally want one!
  24. Cabrera could very easily move over to 2nd (he´s played there before). And Peralta had taken over 3b before Cabrera´s recent injury. There is nothing stopping Hardy from becoming their full time SS.
