  1. The Brewers should make thirdbase and short and open competition between Pratt, Fischer, Boeve, Black, Wilken, Ortiz and Williams period. If young guys show something in ST then they get it. Yes I get Boeve and Black defense isn't gold glove but it isn't bad either. Honestly with Mitchell, Chourio and Frelick defense I would trade Perkins and keep Black up. Murph has to really give him a shot and quit holding a grudge against especially when they give Ortiz such a long leash. I personally think that Fischer and Made will be up by August if they earn it.
  2. I think the Brewers need to look at Seigler or Wood as the back up catchers They will never be a starter but can be back up catcher for sure. No need to spend or a million dollars on someone who will be catching 60 games. Wood could turn into a David Fry. Of course I also believe that if Bauers and Vaughn go back to light hitting you might as well consider going with a combo of Burke, Black or Adams at first of some sort. Why waste 10 million of them.
  3. Crow definitely need to be added but at the same time they need to add Justin Yeager too before we loose him.
  4. He will start the year in Milwaukee but honestly I think by mid-season you will see Burke take over the first base job and not only that but probably Conteras starting to learn some first if Quero forces some time behind the plate.
  5. I expect they will protect Yeager and Crow for sure. Definitely remove Bauers and Berroa. I'm a big believer that Woodruff will be back of any of the free agents. Expect them to trade Monso, Seigler and Black at some point. I think that Preister should be considered in a trade too because they made a mistake with not capitalizing on Myers value last winter. One team the Brewers line up with is Texas for Jung. Move Durbin to second and Turang to short. Then trade Ortiz.
  6. The one catcher that everyone is forgetting about is Wood. He is gradually turning himself into a major league back up catcher. I think you put him at AAA next year as the starting catcher and your going to see him flourish.
  7. Nori Aoki
  8. I think Brewers should only go after either of the Jung brothers, Vargas( White Sox) or Royce Lewis if anyone. Maybe Bentinal of White Sox if anyone.
  9. I want us to go for absolutely but at the same time I think they Brewers need to make Quintana, Cortes, Pegura, Payamps and maybe even Myers( if we get something good for him) I think Myers stock might be climbing some. He doing good and getting back to himself. Gotta get Henderson, Yoho and Woodruff back on roster. Which definitely can replace Mcgee, and Anderson.
  10. So maybe we trade Hoskins, Haase, Bauers, and send down Monso, Ortiz, Avan. Then bring up Perkins, Mitchell, Black, Quero, Boeve Seigler by the end of June and go with that. Turang can handle short move Conteras to first some with Black. Quero can catch with Conteras behind the plate. Seigler/ Boeve/ Black/ Frelick can handle second and third. Seigler also catches too
  11. Well they at the very least need to give Black a shot at third. Can't be any worse then Durbin. Maybe switch Durbin to second and Turang to short with Ortiz going down. Black could be another Loretta. His defense has been overly marked as bad. Nicky Lopez has been retreated too many times now. As far as Boeve he is a hitting machine who just showing up would make the offense better. Last year we did good because we let the young guys have a chance. Stearn biggest mistakes was he kept retreading the same dfad guys. Arnold is gradually doing the same thing.
  12. With in the next two weeks the Brewers need to go with Mike Boeve at second Turang at short and Black at third. Send Ortiz down for awhile. Now once Mitchell and Perkins are back you send Monso and Collins back down. Keep Cameron as fifth outfielder. Then gradually use Frelick a couple days a week in the infield. You gotta start having Yellich in the field to get Conteras as DH along with Haase as your catcher. Or go with Seigler in Cameron spot. It opens up more pinch hitting opportunities for Haase. If not Seigler try Clarke ( possibly a David Frye type).
  13. Well it's also the minors he doesn't have to go all out. Let him just break his arm in. Absolutely no reason to take chance getting hurt. He knows his body the best.
  14. Honestly I think they should already move Durbin to second, Turang to short and put Ortiz back at third. Turang is better at short, with Ortiz seemingly more comfortable at third which could help his hitting. Durbin just doesn't seem to have the arm for third. Frankly I don't think Milwaukee should be scared of using Pratt at second even if he hasn't hit any over AA. Chourio did it this young along with Sheffield, Yount, Molitor, and Speiers. Now that being said only do this if he is willing to sign an extension like Chourio did to guarantee having h in his prime still. Otherwise go get Baty or Grissom
  15. It is the week that the Brewers need to add Woodruff, Myers, Yoho, Martinez jr, Cameron, Durbin and Miz the big league club. Replace Rodriguez, Payamps, Collins, Capra, Anderson, Bauers, and Priester.
  16. I thought at one time he could be a Molitor type hitter but now I will be happy if he becomes a Greg Brock type hitter for us
  17. Think this article is wrong, if Brewers do anything. They need to try and start locking people up. We have plenty of young guys who can do what these free agents can do. We are a very well run organization with very capable prospects. No need to over pay free agents. Now if a young controllable player comes along yup make the trade but we are sitting pretty good. No need to block our good players. Only one I would consider is Moncado on a minor league deal.
  18. Durbin will start at second and Turang at short, Ortiz at third. Monso doesn't make it and they carry Martinez instead as Black can play third. I see that Hall is lefthanded closer and Ashby will start. I think that Pegura and Payamps get traded with Uribe and Yoho making the team.
  19. I gotta disagree in another power bat. Adames batted 6th a lot. He left a lot of guys stranded when he struck out. Now you put a contact guy like Durbin in that spot cut down those strike outs more then half. It's going to replace a lot of the rbis that you lost in Adames's homeruns and men stranded. Then if Yellich, Mitchell, Ortiz and Chourio pick up more consistency. Monso,Bauers, and Dunn replaced with Frelick and Black. They should easily replace what little that those 3 gave offensively. This team is sitting better already then last year.
  20. I like pretty much you predicted but think the other comment is right Turang moves to short and Durbin plays second. Also think that with all the versatility we have that Monso doesn't make it with Black taking his place. The only other switch later that could happen is if Wes Clarke out does Dunn.
  21. Big mistake because you didn't mention Henderson, Patrick and Crowe. I expect the end of year will be a rotation Woodruff, Peralta, Myers, Ashby, Civale and Henderson. Look for Rodriguez, Hall, and Crowe as the depth.
  22. Honestly I look for Milwaukee to try and trade Payamps, Milner, Elvis, and Wilson. Not to mention Williams being traded to . Try to get guys back that will be wild cards in the future.
  23. I think Uribe and Ashby will come back up then have Mitchell and Black take Monso and Roller spot we will be set.
