  1. Yep the corner outfield spots are the most difficult, that's exactly why athletes like Manny Ramirez, Carlos Lee, and Barry Bonds play corner outfield spots.
  2. Great to have the real Rickie Weeks stand up
  3. Penny's ERA is 2.54 ... I would expect a first place team to do at least "better than average" and tag him for 3 or 4 runs. We're not the 2004 Milwaukee Brewers
  4. Bill Hall would make a great Designated Hitter. Against left-handers
  5. Nothing quite like having a Left-Fielder in Center, with the organization's best Center-Fielder watching from Right Field as the Center Fielder blunders
  6. Jenkins or Gwynn or Gross or Nix. Whoever has the "hot hand". Yeah, I suppose it'd be best to keep Mench. As long as he never bats vs righthanders
  7. SlideBernieSlide, those are the hitting stats, not the splits. Gwynn has 55 at bats this year
  8. My dream is to trade those 3 for Jonathan Broxton, but I am sure that's fantasy type talk. Broxton looks like a Superstar closer in the making. But I do think a package of Vargas and Mench and a pitcher like Inman could bring in a good solid relief pitcher. Gallardo is ready for MLB, I think
  9. T-Minus how many games before Graffanino and Mench get benched out of their platoon positions?
  10. So did Sheets get outpitched or did the Brewers simply get out-hit? I suppose I'll choose the latter.
  11. This game has a "strange vibe/anything could happen" vibe to it. I'm thinking we're going to see an inside the park HR or a triple play or a brawl or something even more crazy
  12. I'm not sure if Sheets is a top 5 pitcher in MLB, sometimes he pitches like thatr, he clearly was top 2 or 3 in '04. He's definitely the Brewers' ace.
  13. The demise of Ned Yost as a quality manager might have been greatly exaggerated
  14. uh-oh, watch out, a dart to the "Gwynn in the lineup" haters.
  15. I think Rickie's wrist is feeling OK
  16. I love it! How d you explain a .230 hitter like Counsell, hitting over .400 for his career with the bases loaded? Unreal! If nothing else, you gotta keep Counsell on the roster just to pinch hit in the playoffs with the bases loaded
  17. Nice of Grady to let Tomko bat last inning. Thanks Mr Little!
  18. Suppan is dealing tonight. What a great signing. He's never gonna win a Cy Young but he's a very very solid starter.
  19. uh-oh, fuel for the Gwynn haters ps- great to have Rickie back innit?
  20. . The only reason Gwynn is in the corner sometimes is because Bill Hall can only play one OF position. Gwynn is a light years better fielder than Hall and should be in CF, except Hall doesn't know how to play a corner OF position evidently
  21. Gwynn is still swingin the bat well, he just missed hitting an RBI double yesterday. He smoked it but was out on a great catch. It's not like he was hitting lazy pop-ups yesterday. Hopefully Weeks is back today. I'd like to see Gwynn or Gross in the lineup with Weeks leading off
