I was thinking that maybe there is some sort of mental thing going on with Hall hitting 4th, thinking that he needs to try to hit HR's or something, but then didn't Hall hit 4th last year after Lee got traded?
Yes indeed it is reminding way too many of us of the 2nd half of '06. Scary. The rest of the team needs to step up and make a difference between now and the time when Weeks and/or Braun are available and 100%. And if Braun and Weeks aren't able to get healthy quickly, Bill Hall needs to get moved to the Infield. Corey Hart or Gabe Gross or Tony Gwynn are all better options in the lineup than Counsell and Graffanino. It will be infuriating if the Brewers just stubbornly keep Bill Hall in Center and trot out Graffy and Counsell every night. Either that or Melvin needs to make a move and bring in somebody
Dear Brent Brewer please keep improving at the fast pace you have been in Single A ball. I know you are only 19 years old, but we may need you sooner than we originally thought. Kind Regards, A.J.
Exactly, a true ace will bunt their way on, steal 2nd, steal 3rd, and get sacrificed in when their team isn't hitting... ot he'll just hit a HR themself. Now that's a real ace!
Here is one thought as to putting OBP into perspective (i.e. it's an important stat but not an all-important stat): Craig Counsell has a better career OBP than Robin Yount
With a right-hander on the mound and Weeks struggling, I gotta believe that Tony Gwynn will be leading off. I just hope that Weeks is still in the lineup, batting 7th or something. Even with his struggles, he's still hitting better than Graffy
Weather.com says a 70-80% chance of rain until 10pm EST, then a 30% chance of rain from 10pm to 1am. Doesn't sound promising: www.weather.com/outlook/events/sports/hourbyhour/USPA1276?from=36hr_topnav_sports
Thanks for the update Mass Haas... The Brewers need Braun soon, but I would imagine this set-back delays his call-up. He'll need time to again make sure everything is together with his defense
