  1. Turnbow is back, even if his curveball is still AWOL
  2. Another bad call at the plate, but I'll take it. Wow the Umps have been bad today
  3. So are we going to see a "Fire Sveum" thread for going with Spurling for a 2nd inning? At least we get Ned back tommorow
  4. OK OK Ty Cobb with the bases loaded
  5. Why anyone would not want Counsell starting is beyond me, unless they are advocating for Hall at 3B. Have you looked at Graffanino's stats lately? At least Counsell is an excellent fielder and has a very solid OBP (plus he's Babe Ruth with the bases loaded)
  6. Gwynn is 13 for 33 with a .394 BA, .474 OBP and a .959 OPS Gross is 6 for 35 with a ..171 BA, .348 OBP and a .662 OPS why should Gross start, again?
  7. I'm very happy to see Tony starting. He deserves to start over Gross as long as he keeps hitting over .300 and doing all the little things right
  8. There is a ton of rain on the East Coast today but according to weather.com , Philadelphia will be clear. 60% chance of Thunderstorms tommorow night though
  9. "Homer Me Elmer". LOL! On the plus side, I continue to be impressed with Villanueva. He's gonna be a great (or at least very good and reliable) starter someday
  10. No way would I trade Jenkins this year, in fact I'd bring him back next year too, and platoon him with someone, likely Hart. We need 100% of Jenkins production, at the least, not 75%. I'm also thinking about Jenkins' production throughout his career in September (.920 career OPS, 37 HR's in 177 games). I'd be willing to bet it might continue in October. For that reason alone he's one of the last guys I'd trade at the deadline unless the Brewers are out of contention.
  11. That's what I want to know! Charter Cable in Madison lists Brewers Baseball from 12-3 PM tommorow but I don't know if that's tommorow's game or a replay from tonight/ (They show replays at noon the next day alot)
  12. Yes indeed, Sheets needs to step up and pitch like an Ace #1 pitcher tommorow
  13. Good game. Tough game but a good one. I enjoyed watching it. The Mets are a very good team and look like they are more complete than Milwaukee. Wagner is just lights out amazing. The biggest thing that stands out to me about this game is the huge difference in getting production out of 3B. If Braun isn't going to be ready soon (or if he gets to the show and struggles vs MLB pitching) then the Crew really needs to trade for a 3B who can actually hit like an MLB 3B. You can't just keep trotting out a Utility guy at 3B every day and expect to compete against the best. (yes I know Counsell had a hit today) And Mench needs to sit vs righthanders. Both because he can't really hit righthanders and because then he's a righthanded hitter off the bench...
  14. I can understand that line of thinking. So would you start Hart tonight or Gross?
  15. So... I figure Mench will get the start in right based on being 5 for 8 vs Sosa. Or will Hart be back. I'd go with Shrek and hope he stays Shrektastic vs Sosa. And I hope Suppan pitches around Beltran.
  16. I read through some of the linked Mets forum. "The Crane Pool Forum". They know their baseball.
  17. One thing I know about the Mets: similar to the Brewers, it is important to get a lead on them early. Their 8th and 9th inning pitchers are pretty lethal, especially Wagner in the 9th.
  18. www.weather.com/outlook/events/sports/hourbyhour/USNY1192?from=dayDetails_topnav_sports Looks like pretty steady Thunderstorms until 10 pm or so and then it clears. Hopefully, if anything, there will just be delays and then we'll get this one in late-night.
  19. So... checkin' Weather.com, sounds like scattered Thunderstorms tonight in Flushing, Queens. I've gotten spoiled by Miller Park's roof. Think they'll get this one in?
  20. I'd trade Dessens plus Zach Jackson for Milledge. Supposedly, Dessens could be a 5th starter on many teams, and Jackson is a lefty. Granted, the Mets would be fools to take that trade, but that's what I'd do. Maybe throw in another prospect from A ball
  21. Ned Yost sucks, what a boneheaded manager. When will he ever learn? Just had to post that for "old times sake"... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  22. 14 games over .500 blows my mind! Honestly I'll be thrilled if they are still 14 games over .500 at the end of May. Anything better than that would be a huge bonus.
  23. 24-10. Even the huge optimist in me wouldn't have predicted that. Now it is time to shut up the naysayers in the Big Appple
  24. Small sample, but going into today's game, Gross had the 3rd best OBP on the team...
  25. What is this, the 5th straight game for Co-Co? Wow. Ned is a riverboat gambler at heart...
