  1. The Brewers really have great potential This Houston series will tell us alot
  2. JJ is on fire. All he needs is a triple to hit for cycle
  3. I sincerely believe that Rickie Weeks has a Hall-of-Fame ceiling
  4. Mench flat out rakes against Lefties. I'm glad Yost has finally wrapped his mind around platooning Jenkins with a solid right handed hitter
  5. and we continue with more poor defense
  6. I just hope the Brewers bring Braun up to the Big Leagues before they trade the Sounds for Manny
  7. Well, they won a game they were supposed to win and that is what good teams do. I'm pretty thrilled with Vargas so far this season
  8. Can you imagine how great this Brewers team would be if they played great defense and did all the fundamentals of baserunning correctly?
  9. So if they can take Miller out of this game, why exactly can't they ever pinch hit Miller? Who is our emergency catcher?
  10. Notice I didn't say "worst defensive team in MLB" Worst in Baseball
  11. The 2007 Milwaukee Brewers: the worst defensive team in baseball
  12. It would be kinda ironic if Estrada has a rough night behind the plate with Miller at 1B, or if Graffy has a rough night at 3B with Hall in CF, wouldn't it? Although I 'spose it'll be more ironic if Hall has nothing but webgems out there
  13. Can Estrada play 1st base? I mean, Miller is the better fielder (pun intended) at catcher of the two, right?
  14. Does Yost think he gets extra points for having the most varied starting lineups? I wonder if Jenkins will sit vs the Lefty tonight? Mench-Hall-Hart would be the logical Outfield
  15. My reason for posting the thread didn't have much to do with today at all. I've been thinking about Gallardo, and Villanueva, and Vargas and how we have Suppan for 4 years and Capuano through '09. That is alot of pitching, potentially at least... If it is true that teams would all low-ball the Brewers at the deadline in '07 or '08 then it is a moot point, and obviously there is alot of baseball left to be played
  16. Well, as I said in my original post, I'm not convinced it is a good idea, however it is intriguing as to just how much talent they could get for Sheets If the Brewers don't significantly improve their defense and fundamentals, I don't think they'll be legit contenders this year or next. Seriously. I do think they have enough talent to eventually develop into contenders, but Sheets is only under contract this year and next Anyways, my question is more as possibilities. How much can a legit ace bring in trade at the deadline?
  17. Im not yet convinced it would be the smartest move (however I'm not convinced it wouldn't be, either) but just how much talent could the Brewers get in exchange for Sheets at the trade deadline this year, or next? My guess is that he'd bring in significantly more at the deadline this year than even the Sexson trade.
  18. If by "right now" you mean literally right now, April 15th, Hall is absolutely the worst player on that list. Hitting, fielding, baserunning. Obviously that can, and should, change next week
  19. With the way this team is playing defense, I am not in favor of sending any player who is actually good at defense to AAA Some of the players (like Weeks) are showing great improvement, but the fielding has been shockingly bad at times (way too often, put it that way) this year
  20. I, personally, am not going to blame the entire game on Yost, however it seems to happen way too often that he leaves a clearly done pitcher out to dangle, and it happened again today.
  21. Defense along with doing the fundamental and little things right, along with having a top 20 all-time power bat in Pujols, is what wins games for the Cardinals We don't have a Pujols, but hopefully Fielder or Weeks or Hall or Braun (!) will develop into a top-flight power hitter, however if this young team doesn't learn to play great defense and do the fundamental things right, they aren't going to sniff the playoffs
  22. Based on Tony G's fielding, we should have just started Ryan Braun!
  23. Another example of Yost leaving a pitcher in way too long, when even the casual Baseball fan (let alone fanatics like us) could see that Sheets was clearly done. Not good
