/hindsight of course being 20/20, we sure shoulda picked Homer Bailey! I'm not thrilled with the statement that changing Rogers' mechanics might have contributed to his injury... here's hoping for a strong recovery
Capellan plus Mench for one year of Leiber sounds foolish, to me... with Turnbow shakey, and Cordero with us just one year, I see Capellan as a potential closer of the future
Good point. I'm willing to be patient... Back to the Original topic: I'd be pretty happy if we can get a good solid pitcher for Mench, but I would rather have someone under contract for longer than just '07
I'd be all over trading for Jennings, if possible, and I agree, Jenkins would mash in Coors in a contract year. Jennings is a good hitter for a pitcher, too, with a career BA over .200
If the Brewers really think Bill Hall is an OF, then I'd absolutely trade Hall for Hudson. Sheets-Hudson-Capuano would be one great top of the rotation. If the Brewers realize that Bill Hall at SS is putting up Hall of Fame numbers, no way do I trade Hall, period. But I'd still want Hudson. I'd try to find another way to trade for him. But why would Atlanta want to trade Hudson?
History being a guide, Toronto, Texas, and Oakland are possible trading partners... I still think some form of the Mench to Baltimore trade happens for Lopez
Blanton is a player I'd be thrilled to see the Brewers aquire. I think a combination of Zack Jackson and Corey Hart could get it done, and I would striongly consider doing that, especially if the Brewers are considering putting Hall and/or Braun in the outfield
In this article they mention the White Sox needing an Outfielder with power and say that Joe Crede, center fielder Brian Anderson and veteran pitchers Mark Buehrle and Freddy Garcia, who are on the final years of contracts, could be available for trade. chicagosports.chicagotrib...-headlines I could see Jenkins and Miller for Buerrle or Garcia... granted we'd only get the pitcher for one year though so maybe that might not be our ideal as far as what we can get for Jenkins...
At the end of this article, they mention the White Sox needing a backup Catcher.... I wonder who Miller or Rivera might bring in trade in an off-season where Catchers are at a premium? Perhaps a solid relief pitcher? chicagosports.chicagotrib...-headlines
Finley had monster years in '99 and '00. But this is the '07 season coming up. He had a .714 OPS last year, and .645 the year before that. Craig Counsell has had a better OPS over the last 2 seasons than Finley
I found it somewhat ironic/interesting that Carl Pavano is the #2 pitcher most similar to Ben Sheets. That says alot either about our perception of Sheets or of Pavano www.baseball-reference.co...&st=career I'd definitely like to see Pavano as a Brewers
I could see Jenkins, Hardy, Miller and Koskie packaged up for Manny Ramirez.... or Jenkins, Hardy and Miller packaged up for Carl Crawford I think we are going to see a big trade like that coming up... 4 or 5 Brewers packaged up for one star player
