  1. [ I don't think they will be, but no, you can't have my cigarettes! ] Who are you to decide if we break tradition?
  2. The Kapellusch rally drinks for the evening are: me: Blue Moon (belgian white) wife: B&J Raspberry Daiquiri
  3. ALEX GORDON... GOOD BASEBALL FRAME, WIDE SHOULDERS... GOOD PLATE DISCIPLINE... STRONG ARM, AMPLE BUTTOCKS... ENJOYS THAI COOKING...
  4. [ man, could things at the plate get any worse for Josh Brady? ] I suppose he could get hit in the eye with a baseball.
  5. [ Random thought from today's Huntsville game and yesterday's Nashville game: pitchers' wins are possibly the stupidest statistic in baseball, arguably worse than even fielding percentage. ] I'll actually disagree with that. I think ERA and WHIP are most important, but there are pitchers who go out there looking to earn their team a win, even if it means attacking hitters and making themselves suseptible to giving up some earnies.
  6. ezBoard renewal is every 6 months, but for the past two years we've raised enough money to renew the boards for 12 months.
  7. I'm going with JJ Hardy to have a multi-hit game, cuz i'm whacky like that.
  8. I think ratings can be given arbitrarily by anyone. If someone gives it a rating of 5, it gets a rating of 5. If someone gives it a rating of 2 and another person gives it a rating of 4, it gets a rating of 3. I should make an icon of a guy in a noose to use for the "fire ____" threads.
  9. [ Why is Forrest Martin, a 25 yr old still in A ball guy, making starts every 5th day? Is it because WV wants to piggy back some of our better younger prospects this early in the year, or do some folks think this guy has potential still? ] He's 25 because he was signed as an undrafted free agent, so he got a late jump... They wouldn't have signed someone without prior pro baseball experience if they didn't think he had potential, as compared to some of the organizational soldiers who've bounced around...
  10. [ Otherwise, maybe we could maybe make a "standard" Brewer seating area on the 400 level (cheap, still very good) in between home and first base- perhaps section 416. Section 417 is also a family section and if someone wanted family section seating, they'd be right next to the bf.netters who didn't want to sit amongst lots of kids or be able to have a beer if desired. How does that sound? ] I'd be down for it... but the wife _hates_ the nosebleed section. So either it will take some convincing or will take me heading to games without her.
  11. My bad on that one... i'll get that adjusted tonight.
  12. I predict that this is where the streak ends.
  13. [ Brain, what about some sort of form/calendar system thru the main site? ] We're actually close to having a game calendar online, so we could extend that to allow users to enter their seat locations... but I still wouldn't mind creating a central location where people could me so people don't have to coordinate between themselves as to where to meet. So if person A goes to hook up with person B, and person C goes to hook up withi person A, there's no disconnect.
  14. Unfortunately no, ezBoard doesn't allow that kind of style of moderation..... probably because it only takes one jerk to render the post useless....
  15. I'd almost like to allowcate a "BF.net section", ala the Buckethead section, but more informal. The problem is I usually can't get the wife to unless I get decent seats, but a BF.net section almost calls for cheap tickets to increase the quantity of games attended. Otherwise, you'll have people sort of wandering from location to location (if you have 3 parties trying to hook up).
  16. [ We've got a definite pattern of players getting worse here. ] I wouldn't say that. Podsednik got turned into a tradable commodity, Clark got turned into a legit leadoff guy (excluding Yost's infactuation with having Clark steal off of good defensive catchers), and Overbay got turned into a legitimate 3B. Branyan seems to be really pickup up his contact skills as well. Now, I don't know if any or all of these are attributed to Wynegar, but I don't think there's only a pattern of players getting worse here.
  17. [ No, that's the reason why this franchise is where it is. Because the fan's don't demand a winner. We still trickle into the stadium no matter how bad it gets. Us fans have given this team so many chances to prove that things are going to get better and nothing happens. Until the team, the manager, the management, etc. get the message that us Brewer fans are not going to sit back and take this it will go on and on and on. ] Fans didn't "take it" in the late 90's either by not showing up for games, and that didn't help either. It's not hard to profit on a baseball team even if the team has a losing record. Management isn't stupid... they're ultimately accountable to the guy at the top, and he's not going to make decisions based on fan reaction when we're not even out of April yet. Mark A can see into the clubhouse, while we can't. If it's obvious that the club is lifeless and not just slumping, people will get canned.
  18. [ Should I become Dr. Octagon or something? Maybe halfsharkalligatorhalfman? ] I've suggested that Toby become Toby the Funkee Homosapien
  19. [ Brian, now that you are an automater, where I am going to get my daily fix of squares? ] The heat was too high, I decided to lay low.
  20. Helling's being Helling.... It's like asking a turtle why it's so slow.
  21. [ Just remember to read the FAQ sticky at the top of this forum before doing a lot of posting. ] I'll do my best, after all, squarepusher is the person I admire and respect most in the world. He should be showered with praise. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  22. Wow, I can't believed TBA was called up from Brevard County so soon, especially after throwing all of those innings.
