Honestly don't know how they say that without laughing. Favorite small rebellion against an ad on the radio broadcast was the year when Uecker started reading the Wisconsin Dental Association slogan with a protracted pause in it so it sounded like: "Wisconsin Dental Association. The sign of a dentist. Who cares?" They dropped their sponsorship at the end of the season.

Honestly feels like the Cubs are about a home run or run scoring error away from completely melting down. right now.

Pulling him in the middle of the game would only put him further into his own head. You can give him the day off next gameif you think he needs a minute, but not in the middle of a game for a guy like PCA.

I mean, I don't really blame them for being besides themselves to some degree. Between the throw out at 3B, the catchers interference and PCA's error for a LL Home Run, that inning was crazy and the sort that leaves the team on the receiving end wondering what the hell is going on.

I think this is spot on. And I agree that the Brewers injuries and the Cubs appear more or less equivalent over the course of the season, although I think the Brewers are healthier currently than the Cubs are. But depth, and particularly pitching depth, is why the Brewers are in 1st place and are the better team right now.

If there's a player in MLB who is more in need of a sports psychologist than PCA I can't think who it might be. At times he's so intense it takes him out of his game and he appears to be developing the yips in CF.

I hit one of those in 1978 for Bender Oil in what was then the "Minors" for Little League in central Wisconsin. There was only one error on Hamilton's LL HR. There were three on mine (LF, 2B-throwing, 3B-throwing).

I mean... is it down to go from peaks of 103.6 in prior starts to just over 101? That's why I was hesitant to even bring it up at first. Instead of having more velocity than any starter in MLB history his velocity was merely extraordinary. I don't know. It's lower. They said he was tired after 6 innings I guess I'm just going to tuck those things away in my brain and probably nothing will come of it

The more I think about it the more I suspect that the relatively short leash for Mis last night was probably directly related to the fact that his velocity, while still incredible, but down a touch from what he's been doing this year. I don't think it's concerning or anything, but it was probably a data point that played a role in that call along with the rested pen.

That's particularly true given Ashby's freakish availability rate. That's not anywhere near normal.
