  1. I am attending the Nashville @ Omaha game tonight and Gallardo Vs. Ben Hendrickson is the pitching matchup. I will update after the game what I think (like it means anything what I think) of Gallardo and the Rest of the Sounds.
  2. An injury to a starter on a team that we are not even thinking about can/will create a need and that is how Mench or Graffy will be dealt. it happens every year, a team has an injury and they need a middle infielder or a corner outfielder and they don't have minor league depth to fill that need and they trade with a team to fill that need...Melvin will stay on his toes and get decent value when it happens.
  3. It was stated that it was a player friendly move...I agree with it what Melvin does and when other players see that Melvin will seek places for minor leaguer to play when they don't have much of a future with our club, it will only help the organization. If you are just looking at who was traded for who, you are not seeing the big picture. This is not Fantasy Baseball, sometimes you make decisions that are not great for the organization in a strictly baseball term, but in the grand scheme of the organization it benefits the team.
  4. If the time between games was small, you could start Bush in the extra inning game and he could continue to pitch at the start of the game....Highly unlikely, but you could do it.
  5. 10,000 additional Fans x 17 home starts = 170,000 fans X $25 ticket price = $4,250,000 in added ticket Revenue 10,000 fans X 17 Home Starts = 170,000 additional Fans X $25 concession money = $4,250,000 in additional Concession revenue Not to mention Jersey and Souvenir sales....For $10,000,000 a year or less in most cities...Randy Johnson will be adding revenue to the team not subtracting. He probably can still finish above .500 and if you move his starts around a bit, you can probably manage 20 home starts. It is a good business move to acquire Randy Johnson....and an OK baseball move
  6. I think Players would actually prefer money earlier in the contract, while teams prefer to pay it at the end...Teams want the escalating salaries during a contract due to the time value of money.....Players like signing bonuses or any reason to get up front money...while teams like to defer money...because a million dollars today will be 1.4 million in 5 years if invested correctly....
  7. The goal for the Brewers needs to be a playoff team....if the division can be won by winning 88 games...build a team to do that....if it takes 100...you may have to get another stud pitcher....but once in the playoffs...anything can happen
  8. Going to my first game at Miller Park tonight (ever). I hope to see a win as the two games in KC I made it to ended with a loss. Go Crew.
  9. OPS has onbase + Slugging. To me OPS includes batting average twice since the major component of both slugging and on base includes batting average. I think OPS - BA might be a better way to look at players when comparing them. A player that bats 350 slugs 450 and has on base of 400 would have an OPS of 850 (600) of these points can be attributed to BA. A player that bats 250 slugs 450 and has on base of 400 would also have an ops of 850 (500) of these points can be attributed to BA. Now if you subtract BA from the first player you have a number of 500 for the OPS - BA. For player two you have an OPS -BA of 600. To me this better illustrates the difference between these two players and gives more credit to a player who hits for power. I think OPS gives to much credit to a singles hitter. Just my thought
  10. Today, The Crew is gonna score some Runs. Milwaukee 7 Washington 4 Go Crew.
  11. Santos is 2-8 and the Brewers are 3-12 in his starts. Can the Crew score some runs tonight. The Brewers have has many wins in games started by Ohka as they do when Santos starts.
  12. Does that mean High Definition?
