  1. Burlington Shuts Out Wisconsin 4-0 in Game One Bees hold Rattlers to three hits in first game of twinbill By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Photo: Wisconsin Timber Rattlers) Wisconsin Boxscore It what will become a theme for the night, Wisconsin gets shutout on three hits. In this case, Demi Orimoloye had two of them, both singles, though he was also thrown out on the bases for the third time in two games. Nathan Rodriguez had the other hit, a double. The defense did manage to turn three double plays in the seven inning game. After a few sharp outings after a few uneven outings, Braden Webb was back to uneven. (As my two year old would say - it's a pattern!). I do think he's pitched better than his 5.32 ERA indicates. Parker Berberet with his second good outing in a row. Kind of surprised he's still with the Rattlers. Times'a tickin' on his season, which could be his last with the Brewers. Wisconsin Game Log This is all Burlington would need: Burlington Bottom of the 2nd Jordan Zimmerman walks. Sam McDonnell singles on a ground ball to right fielder Demi Orimoloye. Jordan Zimmerman to 2nd. Brennan Morgan strikes out swinging. Roberto Baldoquin singles on a ground ball to left fielder Joantgel Segovia. Jordan Zimmerman to 3rd. Sam McDonnell to 2nd. John Schuknecht walks. Jordan Zimmerman scores. Sam McDonnell to 3rd. Roberto Baldoquin to 2nd. Jeyson Sanchez grounds into a force out, shortstop Gilbert Lara to second baseman Trey York. Sam McDonnell scores. Roberto Baldoquin to 3rd. John Schuknecht out at 2nd. Jeyson Sanchez to 1st. Jahmai Jones flies out to center fielder Ryan Aguilar.
  2. Campbell is probably going to be a tough sign. He was a top 200-250ish prospect. If he thinks that is what he's worth, he will probably looking for a bonus in the $250k range. Or maybe even higher - tough to know. If he wants to be paid like a top 100 prospect, it'll be closer to $500k.
  3. Aaron Myers now has been transferred to the Helena roster.
  4. The Brewers took Kyle Jacobsen in round 33, who is almost certainly someone they won't sign.
  5. RHP Alberto Paulino has been removed from the main DSL roster, replaced by... RHP Guillermo Paulino. The new Paulino pitched 11 1/3 inning for the Rockies' DSL squad in 2016. Nice ERA, peripherals not so much. He made his Brewers' organizational debut on the 10th.
  6. One of my favorite guys in the draft, Oraj Anu, is still out there as we're about to begin round 11. I will be out for most of the afternoon, but will try to get the official draft thread updated as soon as I can.
  7. For Hairston, the notion of him moving to second is based on a combination of lack of foot speed and a below average throwing arm. He has a quick release at shortstop, but a lot of that is negated by lack of arm strength. By PG data, Hairston threw at a peak of 82 mph on the infield as a prep, and that was before his nerve surgery on his arm last fall. Guys who project to stay at shortstop like Walls, Downs, McConnell, and Allen all throw about 10 mph faster than that.
  8. Rattlers Drop 8-5 Decision to Bees Wisconsin fell behind 8-1, rallied, but couldn't make it all the way back By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Photo: Wisconsin Timber Rattlers) Wisconsin Boxscore Rattlers fall back to nine games under .500, as they gave up the first six runs of the game and let Burlington hold on for the win. Tom Jankins, who struggled for a second straight start, gave up those six runs in 3 1/3 innings. Tucker Neuhaus, Ronnie Gideon, and Gilbert Lara all had two hits. Gideon's two hits were his 13th double and 6th home run. Neuhaus hit his 8th long ball, and Lara cracked his first triple on the season. Demi Orimoloye went 1-2 with three walks, but was also picked off twice. Wisconsin Game Log Down 6-1, Wisconsin does its best: Wisconsin Top of the 7th Tucker Neuhaus homers (9) on a fly ball to right field. Ronnie Gideon strikes out swinging. Trey York walks. With Gilbert Lara batting, wild pitch by Sam Pastrone, Trey York to 2nd. With Gilbert Lara batting, wild pitch by Sam Pastrone, Trey York to 3rd. Gilbert Lara triples (1) on a fly ball to center fielder Jahmai Jones. Trey York scores. Jose Cuas singles on a ground ball to center fielder Jahmai Jones. Gilbert Lara scores. Demi Orimoloye walks. Jose Cuas to 2nd. Pitching Change: Ty Barkell replaces Sam Pastrone. Joantgel Segovia grounds out, second baseman Juan Moreno to first baseman Brennan Morgan. Jose Cuas to 3rd. Demi Orimoloye to 2nd. With Mario Feliciano batting, wild pitch by Ty Barkell, Jose Cuas scores. Demi Orimoloye to 3rd. Mario Feliciano flies out to right fielder John Schuknecht.
  9. The Brewers now have a Bowden and a Bowdien (Bubba Derby).
  10. Agreed that this is the first head-scratcher, at least for me. A second baseman who has fringe gap power, doesn't walk, and is a below average runner to boot. Maybe they think he can stick at shortstop. Hope they got him cheap.
  11. Remember beginning with round 6, please start using the rounds 6-20 thread.
  12. The Brewers are not punting on any of these early picks. If they didn't think they could sign them, they wouldn't have picked them.
  13. Patrick (colbyjack) had thoughts on Harrison playing catcher in the pre-draft thread. I don't have time to go look them up right now, maybe he'll chime in here, but I remember him not being too pessimistic on Harrison behind the plate.
  14. I would say more than a few people are optimistic that he can play catcher. He played second fiddle to superior defensive catchers the past few years, which is not to say he can't stick.
  15. I had Harrison 95th overall, so he seems to be going right about where he should. Interesting to see if he will stick at catcher or not.
  16. I really liked Mason House, who the Padres just took.
  17. ...and there goes Enlow to the Twins with the first pick in the third. ...and there goes Heatherly to the Reds with the second pick in the third.
  18. Remaining members of the top 200 draft prospects still on the board as we begin round 3.
  19. Nottingham is finally having fly balls land for hits. I've brought it up a number of times, but he was 0-15 to start the year on fly balls off his bat. That's almost unheard of. You're supposed to hit the ball in the air - you can't help it if literally every single last one hit into the outfield was caught.
  20. Wasn't it something like 3 guys in the first 5 rounds (for all teams) didn't sign last year? I don't think the Brewers would have taken Lutz if they weren't pretty sure they could sign him. As for Burnes-esque, Tristan Beck is still out there, and they similar in that they both wear rec specs.
  21. Hope they take Carlson as an OF.
  22. This is grade A level trolling by the Brewers.
  23. Get kicked off team -> ????????? -> success!
  24. Hey, I had it down to Peterson vs. Hiura for my pick. Just went with the wrong guy.
