  1. this IS a Yost team we are talking about, no doubt he'll be out there fo the 8th
  2. I have the air conditioning on high enough that I can't hear the announcers
  3. I know, just frustrated by some of the names that are shutting us down. If I had the choice between facing Greg Maddox or wayne Franklin, I'd take Maddox any day of the week
  4. I hear that they are all soft tossing lefties
  5. Any truth to the rumor that Arizona is going to bring up 3 crappy, career minor league pitchers for their major league debuts to face us in the next series?
  6. Versagian makes too much money, I think we'd have to throw in Helms, too
  7. Its not that I am picking on him just to pick on him, he just isnt the same hitter he was 3 games ago. His approach has already changed from his hot streak. I am just afraid that all the progress his numbers have made is about to evaporate along with the chance of a winning season
  8. I can almost feel the Brewer's consetration waning
  9. Exibit A in the case of Jenkins Hot vs Jenkins Cold What was that swing? And the pitch? Eyebrow high fastballs aer not supposed to be strikes
  10. rluz, here's a handy meter on arguements with me about stats: Did you find this information by going to a simple, well known site? If yes, i may be able to argue against the stat evidence. Did you put any work into finding the stat info? If yes, I'm probably too lazy to find it myself, and am definately too lazy to find evidence to the contrary, so I usually accept defeat. It appears as though you put in a great deal of work into your stat presentations, so don't count on me refuting any of it. I usually don't go to great lengths to find stats. I appreciate those who put forrth an effort to bring factual information to arguements. i tend to stay on the conceptual end due to lack of motivation. I hope that no one thinks that I am ripping on their hard work.
  11. rluz, don't you know from sarcasm? wasn't talking about the stats you brought, you actually bring up stat evidence that I pay attention to.
  12. Cinci wouldn't trade Encarcion for a starter unless that starter was 2 starter prospects.
  13. Encarcion is what they are looking for. They want to deal salary for prospects, so Encarcion is a Red for 5 years.
  14. Sorry about bringing this one up again, but for those of you out there who believe that OPS is the way you tell who is the best hitter, for some strange reason no one brought up Branyon, who has the highest ops among regulars, and semiregulars. I know he sits vs. lefties, but that shouldn't matter if OPS is the only indicator used to rate hitters. If any of the OPS hype were true, Branyon would hit 4th when he starts against righties. Seeing that he doesn't, maybe the OPS thing may have been blown out of proportion...
  15. I do like the rally cap commercial when the guy flips over his touppe. classic...
  16. I knew that the Jenkins Mafia would be all over me for suggesting that he is cooling off. In past seasons, it is possible to predict cold steaks as easily as hot ones with Jenkins. When he starts shortening his swing, taking pitches the other way, and taking pitches in general, he heats up. When he starts swinging wildly for the fences, and his pitch selection deteriorates, he gets cold. He is trying to pull pitches too much again, and soon enough, every first pitch to him will be a breaking ball in the dirt, and he will swing at all of them.
  17. But Jenkins is rapidly cooling off, and Hall is still cold
  18. It was on tv, the statement was something like this, "Rickie's brother, Jemile Weeks , who was recently drafted by the Brewers, has apparently decided to attend college due to the number of scholarships he has been offered. It seems as though he will start out in college like his big brother." It was one of those statements that included a lot of "apparently's," and a few "it seems," so this could have been a statement that came directly from his agent in an attempt to drive up his signing bonus. It was on a Madison news channel, and because no one else seems to have picked up on it, and I haven't heard it from anywhere else, I am starting to doubt its authenticity. I wouldn't get too worried about it yet.
  19. All indications are that Weeks has decided to play college ball. good luck whereever you go, Jemile
  20. Where was Jenkins playing if he couldn't get to it?
  21. Oh, yeah, someone mentioned that the Brewers were 13-8 while Jenkins is hot, and said something like a hot Jenkins makes the Brewers win, or something. that has been my problem with him all along. how many winning seasons have the Brewers had with him? He just isn't hot enough. When he is hot, he is lights out, but when he is not, he is ice cold. If we need a hot Jenkins to win, and we haven't won in forever, it follows logically that Jenkins must be cold far more often than he is hot.
  22. One thing in the pregame that did catch my ear. Sorry if it is posted elsewheree, but I was reading the posts for this game and have not had a chance to check the other forums. Apparently Jemile Weeks has decided not to sign with the Brewers and attend college. Apparently he wants to do what his brother did. Unfortunately, we will not be bad enough to draft him when he gets good enough to be drafted. Anyway, good luck Jemile in college.
  23. Franklin pitched .2 innings, gave up 3 unearned to tie, so he sort of gave up the lead
  24. He hit it into BiMac land, the McDonalds thing way up there, 460 feet estimate, but had to go further than tha. It was a missle
